I expect I'll be playing as Meta Knight and Pit (especially) a LOT.
However, I'll be too busy pausing all the time or playing on Camera Mode to actually *fight* when playing as Pit.

I never said you can't play on Final Destination with no items for the occasional battle, but playing like that all the time is just silly.
I suppose. But whose most played-on levels AREN'T Hyrule and Final Des.?
Oh, and i'll definately be using metaknight a ton. and zero suit samus, with camera mode as well

But i like to switch too. I own as Jiggily Puff, for instance.

Uh, me?
I switch levels as often as I switch character, or probably more often. The only reason Hyrule Temple might be high on my play count is because I love the Fire Emblem theme. I don't often play on Final Destination.
My other most played level is probably Fountain of Dreams. But I enjoy playing on most of the levels, and I especially enjoy playing on the levels that everyone hates because AH IT'S MOVING I'M CONFUUUUSED. Like Big Blue. Big Blue is an *excellent* level. Brinstar Depths is another cool level.
Mute City is brilliant for long games, too. Great music as well.
NOTE: SMASH BROS. WEBSITE UPDATED WITH SAMUS AND WARIO. First shots of them in battle situations (although it doesn't show them performing any moves). First information about how they might play - Wario Waft sounds fun and interesting, and it seems Zero Suit Samus is a in-battle change, like Zelda/Shiek, but it doesn't appear to be quite that simple.
EDIT: I still reckon Wario looks vaguely like the Crazy Frog in that outfit. *Shudder* But his coolness shines through, so it's not that bad.

but anyway, do you think that, to change into zero suit samus, you have to do the super attack? rather than press down + B like Zelda, you grab the smash bros. logo weapon, shoot, and then your zero suit, like in the trailer, literally. the thing is, unlike how you may WANT to be sheik, perhaps, like the Zero Mission, you don't WANT to always be Zero suit samus. It could be a downside to her blast. maybe...
EDIT: maybe EVERYONE gets downgraded after a super attack! like mario would 'shrink' like he does in his games when he gets hit by an enemy while having a mushroom. (you know what i'm talking about, right?) maybe it'd be like that!

some people may appreciate that trait in brawl link, but I grew up with this character, and I don't like remembering him as a sword-slinging tightass.

jabba -- I actually like the melee link over the brawl one. the brawl one looks too serious -- this face is too thin, his eyes are too sharp, and his hair isn't fluffy or bright. in comparison, melee link is cute and charming, whereas brawl link will cut you up and move on.

An unfortuante side effect to the evolution of graphics and realism in games, I suppose.

I'm just brainstorming, but I think there's still a lot more characters that would be great to add.
Also, I think it would be great if Mr. Game & Watch was given a steam-roller attack. But that's just me.

Crazy Frog coming out of nowhere saying that it's showtime? Hell. No.It's only a matter of time before someone fits the damned Satanic 'Crazy Frog' tune to the final section of the Brawl trailer.
That is too true. My firends do that everytime in their matches while I'm waiting for my turn.ugh, please don't. especially not with other players.

Well, 2006 officially mark the Legend of Zelda's 21st birthday. It's come a long way, folks, and now it's a big-game. TP might even be T rated.

Does anybody know for sure if these five characters are the only new ones? I honestly hope not, because not only is five a really small increase compared to n64->gc, but the particular people chosen as those five are slightly disappointing. How about Tom Nook or Viewtiful Joe? Sonic also seems like a popular (and sensible) request. What about some good ol' N64 RARE characters, like Banjo-Kazooie or Juno and Vela from Jet Force Gemini (a possible tagteam like Ice Climbers)?
No, they're not the only new ones. I'm sure of it. I doubt they'll even reveal any of the secret characters, for instance, until the game is released. They didn't with Melee.
Slightly disappointing? PIT? Pit is awesome. Meta Knight? Bloody Solid Snake? No way are ANY of them disappointing. Wario, for instance, it's about time he showed up. Tom Nook would be bloody disappointing. Tom Nook? No hatred for Nook, but what could HE do in a fight?
As for all the others you have suggested, they are non-Nintendo characters and so far only Snake has been the only non-Nintendo character introduced. Don't get ahead of yourself. I mean, do you expect the trailer to run though Snake, Sonic, Viewtiful Joe, etc.? That would be unheard of and hell would freeze over before that happened so out of the blue. It's mad enough that Snake showed up. Yes, it's possible that some more non-Nintendo characters may appear - it is confirmed they are discussing it with various other people/companies. But they're hardy going to reveal any more this early on.
They haven't even added the *shadows* yet. Give them a chance.
And to those of you commenting about the pause thing - I rarely if ever pause when fighting human opponents, because I know how annoying it is. I pause occasionally during single player bouts though, that's what I meant.

Wario and Meta Knight are the only two of the new characters I find to be good choices. But this is under the assumption that these five are all we're getting. If there's a whole slew of new characters, then there's no problem.
Tom Nook would kick ass. He'd use a shovel, an axe, and a fishing rod as part of his moves, not to mention his raccoon rabies attack and some form of money attack like Mario's coin jump.
Viewtiful Joe was originally Gamecube exclusive. He was born with Nintendo even though Nintendo didn't make him.
Sonic may not be Nintendo either, but he's much more popular than Solid Snake and many, many people across the Smash Brothers world often suggest Sonic as a Smash Brothers character. Nobody saw Solid Snake coming. Nobody.
I wouldn't expect a trailer to show these guys, but I think they'd be awesome unlockable additions to the game.

I find it suprising that so many of you kids have played Kid Icarus to know just how "awesome" Pit is aside from just being some pretty boy with wings. I've never played the game and I don't claim to know anything about it, but come on.
Pit is probably the most popular of Nintendo's 'forgotten' heros. Just a simple fact. Kid Icarus was a sister series to Metroid. And I HAVE played Kid Icarus, I'll have you know, and I played it BEFORE Brawl came out. And it's bloody difficult. But I've just now discovered the Game Boy version which is much easier so I'm playing through that.
How are any of the other choices *bad* choices? And I've said, no, these are not the only five we're getting, that should be obvious. When SSBM was previewed, did Zelda/Sheik and Ice Climbers end up as the only new characters? No way.Wario and Meta Knight are the only two of the new characters I find to be good choices.
Uhhhh huh... Like, cos Nook is much more of a major character than Pit. Please. No offense to Nook but he's hardly a STAR. Pit was in his day, and if you're going to complain about Pit, you might as well complain about ANY characters Nintendo brings back from the past, such as the Ice Climbers and Marth and so on. Smash Bros. is designed to be a veritable *museum* of Nintendo history. That's the whole point of the trophy thing. Bringing back classic heros is part of that, and just because *you* don't know who they are makes no difference to the rest of us. Nobody knew who Marth was but he's incredibly popular and since his appearance, Fire Emblem games have made it to countries beyond Japan. And if the appearance of Pit heralds a new Kid Icarus game, that would be brilliant.
You could say that about tons of characters though, such as Megaman. Not that I would MIND if Joe was there, that would be very cool, as long as he was implimented well and not just taken straight from that Viewtiful Joe fighting game that isn't meant to be very good.Viewtiful Joe was originally Gamecube exclusive.
Nobody.
The fact that nobody saw him coming makes it so BRILLIANT. I don't *want* the obvious. The only reason nobody thought Snake would be in it is because nobody thought any third party characters would show up in the first place.
Also, I should mention that Metal Gear started on the NES, so actually he follows your 'born with Nintendo' thing.
I agree, Sonic would be ground-breaking and Viewtiful Joe would fit in very well. Not so sure about Tom Nook, though. But I know I'm still going to play as Meta Knight and Pit more than anybody else, anyway.I wouldn't expect a trailer to show these guys, but I think they'd be awesome unlockable additions to the game.
Who the hell is Zelos Wilder?
Geno is apparently one of the fan suggestions that the creators are interested in, alongside K. Rool and a bunch of others.

It's very good, isn't it? ^-^ Here's the full pic.

I found it on a rather perverted Nintendo oaketai (or however you spell it) board. Not sure if the artist has a webpage but nothing else on the board was really worth bothering with. This pic was a great find, though.

The Wario Waft sounds like it'll be more powerful the longer you wait before unleashing it. It doesn't sound like a charge up like the Giant Punch or Charge Shot, but more like it charges continuously.

More like lady man's man. He looks very camp. That's a man's man.
Really, throwing a Tales of Symphonia character into Smash Bros.? I *heavily* doubt that is ever gonna happen. A Soul Calibur character would be more likely although I really doubt that will happen either. In fact I doubt we'll see any 'regular human' third party characters when we already have Snake in the game.
Seriously, unless they have some 'schtick' of some kind that makes them different from the average swordfighter (for instance, Nightmare from Soul Calibur would not be a regular swordfighter), they're not gonna be in the game, mainly because there are plenty of swordfighters in the series as it is, especially with Meta Knight added to the mix.
