Did you notice that thing dangling from Fox?s waist? It?s a fine piece of weaponry, and one that most fighters envy.

Ah, the amusement factor of making Star Fox related sex humour.

http://www.vgcats.co...s/?strip_id=223

ANYWAY, aside from all that, the new Star Fox stage looks *awesome*. I expected it just to go in and out of Corneria's atmophere... How wrong I was. This is miles better. I hope it has some effect on the stage as well, but even if it is just pretty backgrounds then I'll still be happy because it sounds brilliant.

Anyone notice that most of the stages shown thus far are Battlefield-like? Where are the innovative ones, like Brinstar Depths and Fourside?

Screw Brinstar. I want a Phazon Mines level.

Or at least Phendrana.

I really wouldn't mind if SSBB went all out in approaching the MP universe, rather than sticking to the many classical themes of the series.

Just in case you didn't notice, both of those stages were secrets. Why the hell would they reveal the secret stages already?

Besides, since when are the Mario Kart stage or the Delphino Island stage like Battlefield? Or the castle stage? Or Pit's stage?

And Fourside wasn't innovative, it was very similar to Saffron City.

Fourside has got to be one of the most annoying levels in the game. And Saffron was way more innovative.

Fourside has the problem of being very difficult if you're playing as someone like Bowser, or, ironically, Ness. Anyone with bad jumping skills, an unusual third jump, or is a large target is screwed.

It's not THAT bad though, but hey, it's a bit of a hassle sometimes.

Nothing compares to how annoying the Termina: Great Bay stage is. So many sudden deaths at low percentages just because of that area under the dock. XD But, really, Fourside wasn't that bad for most characters.

Ah, well, Great Bay it's at least more your fault if you're foolish enough to risk standing near the bottom of the platform. ^^; And recovering by leaping from the water is fun. Fourside is cruel to specific characters, while Great Bay is just cruel to everyone. XP

Yeah, Great Bay's cruelty is a strategic element; if you can get down there and hit someone, you can get an easy KO. But you also risk getting KOed yourself that way. It's a balance between risk and reward which makes Great Bay one of my favorites.

I'd COMPLETELY forgotten about Fourside. I never really liked it back in the day, and my saved game got erased, so I don't have it unlocked anymore. I also agree that the Lylat System state looks gorgeous. Even if it's just a bunch of pretty backgrounds, it sounds like something worth playing on. I have a feeling though that you'll have to avoid crossfire when you fly through the space battle.

Today's update - Zelda's return. I can't remember if she was shown in any of the trailers. This is great. I absolutely love her TP design.

I do too, I keep forgetting how absolutely beautiful she is in TP (and now Brawl). Both Link and Zelda are greatly improved.

However, whether Sheik will be in is another matter. Sheik makes no appearance in TP, and has made no appearance since OoT. I'm still holding out that maybe Sheik has been left out so that Midna can be put in somewhere. I hope Zelda uses her sword, too, even if it's just for the Final Smash.

But hey, if there's Sheik AND Midna and Ganondorf, that'd be fine too. XP Seeing Shiek in TP style wouldn't be a bad thing, after all. But Midna would be cooler. Maybe they'll replace Young Link with Wolf Link and Midna.

It's easy to forget that there were just as many Zelda characters as there were Mario characters in Melee.

^ The difference being that three of the Mario characters (Mario, Luigi, Dr. Mario) were practically mirrors of each other, while the Zelda Characters (Link and Young Link) only had two mirrors of each other. Picking Link or Young Link basically depended on which fighting style you preferred, powerful (Link) or quick (Young Link). I saw little difference between the Mario characters (not counting Luigi's Green Missile and Super Jump Punch).

You're joking, right? Luigi and Mario are very different in Melee. Clearly you've rarely played as either of them.

Also you forget that Ganondorf was a clone of Mr. Falcon.

I meant mirrors of each other, not those from other games. ;)

And you're right, I don't play as Mario and Luigi AT ALL because I suck with them. Ice Climbers, Bowser, DK or Marth for moi.

Well, while this wasn't exactly unexpected given Link's design, I'm still very happy for it. TP Zelda looks great. It's weird they needed so many games to design a Zelda that actually looked good. Shame she doesn't use her sword, though...

As for Sheik, I've been saying she'll be a no-show since the beginning. This update doesn't exactly change that.

A shame Vaati probably won?t be in Brawl, though...

If Vaati does appear in Brawl, he would probably be a boss character. No one knows what exactly the human/minish Vaati is capable of because you never fight his human form in TMC (though I was hoping you would... why do we always fight monsters and never humans?).

Also, Gerudos. And Darknuts are humans in some games, I believe. Wizzrobes might be as well...

That didn't stop them before with characters like Captain Falcon and Zelda. And actually, if Vaati was in SSB, he probably would be a lot like Mewtwo (whom I doubt will be in Brawl, by the way). Again, probably won't happen, but one can dream.

^ A mirror of Mewtwo? Hmm... give Vaati a sword (he's supposed to be some kick-a** swordsman in TMC) and that might be feasible.

I didn't say I wanted him to be a clone. And as for the sword thing, that was a mistranslation (though I wouldn't mind a sword duel with Vaati in a future Zelda game).

Thank Primus for that. We don't need second rate filler villains in this game.

Dude, that's just plain harsh. Luigi and Mario are very similiar in Melee; you'd have to have each quite a lot to really feel the true differences, as it is not that noticable otherwise (with the exception of one or two moves, but when everything else feels the same it isn't enough to make one label the character as seperate). Thus, it's more than fair to group Mario, Luigi, and Dr. Mario as similar characters.

I'm glad to see that Zelda's no longer a blonde... it would drive me crazy if there was another game that had every chick looking like the ditzy, cliche princess of Disney fame. Granted, Nintendo is always going to make their Princesses look cliche, but at least it's a step in the right direction. :3 Those shoulder guards are looking spiffy, too.
Geez, if they don't have Sheik in Brawl, though, that'd be horrible. She was such an amazing character in Melee - in both feel in gameplay and in animation - and it would just be wonderful to see her in action in Brawl.

The guy's got a sub-series, man! That's more than you have!

And yes we do! More than we need second rate heroes, anyway. And there's plenty of those to go around.

And actually, if Vaati was in SSB, he probably would be a lot like Mewtwo (whom I doubt will be in Brawl, by the way).

Sure to be replaced by Lucario. He stands upright, and could easily have a similar fighting style for those people that liked Mewtwo. Like, Aura Sphere instead of Shadow Ball, etc. I just thought he'd be perfect for smash bros., no?

And wow. Just wow. Zelda looks incredible. However, my hopes of a cel-shaded zelda or link look to be crushed, but if it's a sacrafice for the TP artstyle, I guess it's a fair deal.
Sheik needs to return, and if (s)he doesn't, then we need someone to take over her/his moveset.

...

o.o

Zero Suit samus O_O TOTALY take over the moveset! THat'd kick ass, since Samus is my best character, and sheik is my next best. Combine them, and it's a combo that can't be beat.
