Yup. Took me a whole lot of tries, though. Use Donkey Kong. Use Hand Slap on the ground-based ones, and just memorize the attack patterns. Charizard's Rock Smash also does some crazy damage, but I personally found him/it/whatever to be too slow and clunky.

Now, I HATE Fox with a passion, but despite that I've found him to be a BEAST at Boss Battles. Use midair attacks over and over again, keeping distance with the laser when you need to. Haven't beaten intense, but He might be a good bet.

Donkey Kong, you say? Hmm, interesting. I'll give it a shot.

Any suggestions for 10 kills on cruel brawl? I've got 9 with ganondorf. I came soooooooo close! I wanted to tear my skin off after that!

Ness or Lucas. Lure a crowd to an edge and use Thunder Tackle (or whatever you want to call it.)

You can also use either Fox or Falco for the Cruel Brawl. If you keep dropping off, mid-air jumping and using the UP+B attack to get back up, you can sometimes cause the alloys to fall and not be able to grab onto the edge.

Edge luring is probably the only realistic way to get anywhere in Cruel Brawl.
Fox and Falco are great choices, but I've seen Ike rake up the most points, especially since his B-up can also do some keen damage.

teehee, i almost typed "B^"

Today was the dojo's last update. It's been a fun ride, and we've had our ups (Dedede and Olimar confirmed!!) and downs (delay & MOAR delay) but it's been a lollercoaster through it all. And now I'm playing the game and loving it. And Europe is not. ^.^

I suppose I'm a little surprised that they didn't quit the updates either after they released it here, or after they released it in Europe. Though the SSE explanations were nice, as were the fan screenshots. ^_^ Me and my friends had quite a few laughs as we browsed them. (And they're different ones if you look at the Japanese version of the site!)

On a different note, something occurred to me; while the SSE was the story of the game, how canon is it to the franchises represented? Does Super Smash Bros take place in the worlds of the characters? Or is it a separate world entirely? The whole "Characters get turned into trophies when they are defeated" thing was odd to me, even if it was cool, since that doesn't happen in any of the games the characters come from. And I never would've figured that all the worlds would be on one planet, either. (Or most of them, except probably the ones where the actual planet is indeed different, such as Cornaria or Pop Star.)
Is the planet where SSB takes place a sort of world where the characters gather to Brawl, while somehow being connected the each game's world? Is SSB a virtual world created by who knows who (Master Hand maybe?) for whatever purpose? Are the characters we love in SSB really them? Or are they simply trophies based off them, and brought to life as they are in SSE for the purpose of Brawling, saving the world (or helping to destroy it), and basically tools to create a story around?

I've been told that I take games way too seriously, but I can't help but wonder...

SSE is a separate world entirely. Although characters appear from the games, the landscapes are unique to SSE. And I think Master Hand is meant to be a puppet master who turns the trophies into fighting characters, because this was seen in the opening movie to the original game (although the characters then were toy dolls, not trophies).

I always took it in the Smash Brothers world that the characters who are fighting are only representations of characters, not the 'real' thing. I guess the best way to explain it would be like Buzz from Toy Story. He thinks he's the 'real' Buzz but he's actually just an action figure of him.

P.S. Could we make a topic just for posting Brawl related images/screencaps or would it be better to just keep posting them here?

Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be released in Australia on the 26th of June. I can't wait.

And we have to wait... until the 27th.

Also, Apollo Justice is now out. Trials and Tribulations has yet to receive a release date. That seems odd...

Also, today I was kicked off Wi-Fi 7 times in the middle of matches, thanks to Nintendo's brilliant and intuitive online system. ¬_¬

Yeah, I thought so. Are there any spoilers for TaT in AJ?

Not that I should buy it yet, I'm supposed to be revising...

Not that I remember. But yeah, it makes no sense that they'd release AJ before TaT...

It also doesn't make sense that they'd make the European gamers wait so long for Brawl. Why'd they do that? They pushed us back, and I thought that they were aiming for a worldwide release (which would make more sense), but then they released it in Japan first...

It doesn't spoil anything per se, but you'd probably want to play them in the proper order. You'll appreciate both games more if you play them in the correct order because of what each game has to offer. If you reverse the order, you'll likely feel as if you took a step backwards, which could be a bad thing in your opinion, I wouldn't know. I highly suggest waiting, though if you need to get your gaming fix in, it wont spoil anything plot-wise.

When I say that it's a step backwards, don't get the impression that TaT is way worse than Apollo Justice, 'cause it's not - they're both equally fantastic. The difference is, Apollo justice has crisper visuals because it was made from the ground - up for the DS, and because of that, it has more DS-specific activities and such. They're both great, so enjoy them when you eventually get them.

As a European, I'm probably one of the people who appreciates game delays. Why? Because it gives Nintendo the opportunity to fix any bugs or typos that make it into the Japanese and American games.

I suppose thats a bit of an advantage...but really, I don't notice bugs much, and then you're dodging spoilers when you're online...
