Fox has always looked butt-ugly. However, I must say that he looks better now than in SSBM. I think it's 'cause he looks more fox-like *shrug*. Meh, I never liked fox; like, I really hate him. >_>

Ha, you think that's totally wrong?

Then you're wrong.

Sakurai confirmed it on the old site.

Anyway, what's with all the Fox hate? Weirdos. And S_L, he HAS aged by about ten years. And he doesn't look fat anyway. Unless you think anything other than 'skinny' = fat.

I personally think the old design looks dated now. And the new one isn't much different - the clothing just looks more realistic, and the eyes are more expressive, and the face is a slightly different shape (but not much).

I can't stand Fox in any game other than an Arwing shoot-em-up, simple as that.

haha, fox has a giant forehead. I have to agree that the new version's face looks like the posterior of your average elephant, but the clothing detail is gorgeous.

Fox looked hot at Starfox Adventures, but the new design looks very bad to me...

And I hated him in both Super Smash Bros. just because my brother used him, and he was annoying

no way.
falco was a slow piece of crap compared to the almighty fox, complete with the ray-gun-that-takes-your-health-without-you-noticing-of-ultimate-doom.

Granted Falco moved slower, but his attacks come faster and hurt more.

Marth: Aerial fighting!

*Falco uses his Down aerial attack*

Marth: Ow. *THUD*

Enough said.

I count "moving" as walking/running in general, not attack speed.

But his attacks are slower than Fox's too, which is why they're more powerful.

It's always the slower the character moves the more powerful the attacks. And in contrast, the faster the character moves the weaker the attack. And that's fine and good and all, but the problem with the first SSB is all the moves were too similar to the others. Melee seems to address that issue a little bit, so I hope brawl makes it more balanced and still add a bunch of different moves for each character.

Coming from the furry?

I've never had anything against Fox as a character, really. I like Starfox 64, and I think SF:A was a stupid idea, but as far as the character goes, he's alright. As far as Smash Brothers goes, I didn't use him a whole lot. I typically went with Falco if I had to choose.

I like his new costume design, but his face looks a little weird. I think it's the placement of his ears right at the very top of his head. I'm digging the scouter though.

Coming from the Flint?

I'm not a furry. I'm a human being, kthx. Furries don't actually exist. Just so ya know. XP

And I was referring to the weirdness of disliking a video game character 'just cos'. I don't see how anthropomorphism has anything to do with it, other than the fact that oh em gee, I quite like some anthro characters, which is, well, irrelevant. I'm sure it's probably facinating and all, but irrelevant. o.o

My point is that furries tend to have an unhealthy obsession with anthros, at times even sexually, and that makes them the weirdos. Some people express dislike for a character who is popular in furry circles and you call them weird, and claim SL has "issues." Pot, kettle black, etc.

Yeah, and you're 'normal' Flint, totally conformist and not at all unbalanced.

I wasn't exactly being overly serious when I said 'weirdos', you do know that, right? You do realise that maybe I was just joshing around? And that most people's concept of 'normal' is a logical impossibility that nobody can conform to due to it's subjective nature, so therefore, everyone is weird in some respects?

And also you're being very weird for making light of my fondness for anthropomorphic characters when it is entirely needless given that I was being not at all serious?

I never said I wasn't weird. I'm weird. But at least I'm likeable. XP

And I don't genuinely think people have 'issues' just because they disagree with me. That'd be weird. Oh wait.

It is cool that the all the forms of control are being implemented in the game's design. I could just imagine imagine a match between four players to decide which control is best.

Honestly, there is no pleasing some people though. Please stop complaining that you do not like the Fox design, or whatever issue you have with his look. You should be more worried about his moveset or taunt. Besides, everyone knows the original designfor Fox was the best ( I A-M B-E-I-N-G S-A-R-C-A-S-T-I-C ). I mean yeesh people, have some class if your going to hoist what you think is the best design.

EDIT: On second thought, I do not have a problem with people complaining. I just hate it when people fret over stupid little things. If you never really liked Fox in general, I got no problem. But if your going to whine about the fact that he has his Command look (and the aspects thereof)... It really is childish. He looks pretty good taking into account the fact that he is based on a simplified design. If your complaint is that he looks too much like a toy, guess wait--the guy is from a videogame. As far along and mature some games have gotten, you must remember that a videogame is a toy--a very sophisticated toy, but a toy nonetheless.

Okay, is it just me or does the Yoshi's Island stage look *gorgeous*? If you don't see what I mean, click on one of the pictures and look at it in close up.

Mmm. It's like Yoshi's Island in 3D. Now all we need is Yoshi. XP

I'm sure Yoshi will be in it, otherwise his stage wouldn't be in the game. That's what I think.

And I agree, that stage looks great. The support ghost is the icing on the cake; never thought I'd see that in SSB.

Oh, yes, Yoshi's stage looks beautiful.
The graphics as a whole in this game - and the music... heck, everything - are making me drool puddles.

It's good to be a SSB fan, isn't it?

According to IGN,
Release Date:
US: TBA 2007
Japan: December 31, 2007
Europe: September 30, 2007

I don't think I've seen it officially listed anywhere, though...
