We don't necessarily have to know everything about the game. I am just saying that the only new information that we've got in the past year is that Fox is (still) a fighter and Delphino Plaza is a stage. (Hey, at least we got some information on a new stage.) Shouldn't we know a little more than that by now? Also, I am not saying that they should ruin the entire game. I was just saying that by the one year point after finding out about Melee, we knew nearly all, if not all, of the characters that weren't hidden, and more than 4-5 stages.

Don't get me wrong; if you don't want to spoil the game at all, then that is your right, and I understand where you are coming from. I, on the other hand, think that we should know more by this point, even if it is just which characters are returning from Melee (and that aren't hidden). Nintendo apparently doesn't know much about hyping a game. You give people little bits of information that seems important (Delphino Plaza, play as the Duck Hunt Dog, Jigglypuff sucks, etc.) more often than twice a year. If the late 2007 release date isn't moved back, then we've got a lot more information to go. It's just nice to know a little bit more about a game before you buy it.

Looks more like it'll behave like Mute City, probably just slower and less hectic. Looks fun, I hope the music is spiffy.

Also, joey, Vertiboy, shut up.

Whoa, there, sports fans. I was making fun of the name.

I don't want all the info right now, for the same reasons everyone esle has stated. I think it's genius that they're doing it little by little. And, contrary to what I said earlier, I do like the way they're skipping around. Little of this, little of that. Struck me as curious at first, but makes sense in the long run.

So, yes, even if it is coming out before the end of the year, there's still a triple-digit number of days between now and then. So be patient.

...On second thought, it might ruin the feel that Delfino had in Super Mario Sunshine by flying on a platform all over the place. And I don't see any Piantas. ;_;

C'mon, you didn't spend half the time in Delphino Plaza using the Rocket Pump to fly all over the place? I sure as hell did.

And I'd be surprised if Piantas didn't show up somewhere, but I'm glad they're not on every street corner. I've seen enough of them guys. o.o

We don't necessarily have to know everything about the game. I am just saying that the only new information that we've got in the past year is that Fox is (still) a fighter and Delphino Plaza is a stage.

Be fair, we also know about the Mario Kart stage, the Yoshi's Island stage and Pit's stage. We know about two items, some of Pit's moves and the extensive number of musicians working on the game. No, it's not much so far, but give it a couple of weeks or so and I think you'll be eating your words. Patience. With daily updates it won't take long before some serious information shows up.

Nintendo apparently doesn't know much about hyping a game. You give people little bits of information that seems important (Delphino Plaza, play as the Duck Hunt Dog, Jigglypuff sucks, etc.) more often than twice a year.

Dude, are you paying attention? DAILY UPDATES. It's only been going two weeks. Even if Delphino Plaza is the only piece of info you're interested in, give it two more weeks and I'll expect you'll have at least two more interesting snippets.

Plenty of time to go until release. Why blow it's load now? The first hit of hype was the initial E3 Movie, they're saving the good stuff for later until release, but I predict within the next month we'll get two or three nice chunks of info among lots of smaller things that add up to a lot of joyous hypery.

Oh, and joey, yeah, I misread. I expect 'Cracker Launcher' is a literal translation that might be changed to 'Firework Launcher' or something.

It isn't. It's called the "Cracker Launcher" in Katakana. I mean, it makes sense in the context of firecrackers. It just sounds a little silly. Don't get me wrong, it's not a major issue at all. "Heh" material at most.

That's what I mean though. It's a literal translation of the name in Japanese. This is the sort of thing that localisation is for - they might take exception to launching derogatory American terms for majorities at people.

Then again, do you guys call fireworks 'firecrackers'? Firecrackers over here are something else.

Oh come on. Take offense at the name Cracker? Are we that freakin' sensitive now?

Yes we are.

But it's a stupid reason to change the name. I think all the SSB items should have derogatory implications, just to be fair.

Hey, I don't give a monkeys about 'cracker', nobody even uses the term over here, but it's an issue for the localisation team. Then again, they didn't change the name 'Wii' here in England, despite the sniggering that occurs.

We don't. But firecrackers and fireworks are still considered related. And "Works Launcher" just doesn't make any sense.

Could easily call it Fireworks Launcher, that's what I meant. Only two letters longer.

It's not that iteration of "cracker" that sounds silly to me. That never came into play. If anyone sees fit to take offense at it, that's stupid. The thing is, it sounds like it should be shooting saltines or something.

Fireworks Launcher would be a tad clumsy, but fine. I'd gladly trade some smoothness in sound for something that makes total sense.

The name "Cracker Launcher" might make Americans overly conscious of other cultures, so we should change it.

The new update is weird... at least I don't understand it...

Is that the ending music of the game Yoshi's Story? Or the music that sounds in Brawl after you complete the 1 player mode with Yoshi? Or both?

The thing is, it sounds like it should be shooting saltines or something.

I got that impression at first, too; I thought it was gonna shoot soda crackers at opponents (which would probably be even more lame than the Super Scope at its lowest power), but that made little sense after seeing the HUGE cannon. As funny as it would look seeing a cannon that big shoot bursts of soda crackers at everyone, I think the fireworks(crackers) work much better in the world of SSBB.

I think it's fairly obvious that it's going to be the stage music for the Yoshi's Island level that has already been shown to us.

Sounds great if you ask me, especially considering the music for the Yoshi's Story levels in previous games has been pretty feh. They actually picked one of the best themes in the game, and the Yoshi voice doesn't sound annoying, huzzah.

Of course, I *would* prefer the underground pipe level theme. Hibble-hibble-hoh-puh, hoh-puh-haaay...

Yeah, probably, but you can't say for sure.

As for the song, it's better than before, but Yoshi's Story didn't have that good music to begin with (I personally don't like it when games only use one main theme and arranges it for every stage). I wish they'd use Yoshi's Island instead, that game was the shit.

For the record, that's the djungle music. Underworld music is "Tha-tick-tsho-tsho, uhm-ahh. Yo-shi!"

Oh yeah! That's the one I meant. XP

And yes, Yoshi's Island had some classic themes... I'm hoping that there's a Bowser Castle stage with the final battle music from Yoshi's Island. There might still be more than one Yoshi stage, who knows.

Quite frankly, if there isn't a Bowser-themed stage, I'll be annoyed. Heck, if Bowser isn't IN the game, I might burn things.

^ Agreed, there should be a separate stage for every character; for example, Mushroom Kingdom for Mario AND Peach (and maybe Luigi, sure) kind of ruined the diversity. They should have stages for the Secret Characters, too, which are unlocked with the character. Just a suggestion.

Ditto. Yoshi's Island had such awesome boss music. Especially the final battle. There is something about rock and cute green dinosaurs that just make them blend together perfectly. An orchestrated version of that song would be worth the price of admission by itself.

I hope they have all four of the main earthbound characters. That would be a brilliant addition.

I'd drool over a chrono trigger character too.
