I wonder if the Alloys are 'clones' based on the playable characters.

The Green Alloy's like Kirby,
Red's like Captain Falcon,
Blue's like Zelda or Peach,
And Yellow's kind of like Mario?

Regarding Captain Falcon: It's possible that the game has the four original hidden characters hidden at the start: Falcon, Jigglypuff, Ness, and Luigi. None of those have been confirmed yet.

Yes, that's actually precisely how it works, that's how it worked in Melee... The male used Captain Falcon's moves, the female used Zelda's moves... It looks like the Blue Alloy will be using Zero Suit Samus or Peach's moves this time though. Which makes a lot more sense anyway.

Anyway, I totally didn't expect Olimar. @.@ well, I did, but that was aaages ago when I wondered who would be in a sequel. I ended up forgetting about him... Obviously they didn't.

I have a sneaking feeling he was originally pegged to be in Melee, given that he had a special unlockable trophy...

Well, I'll be! Olimar! Now THAT'S an interesting character. No doubt he'll spice things up like the Ice Climbers did.

Why do I get the feeling there will be comments on Snake's third picture today? <_< Otherwise I like the originality of Snake's Final Smash. Looks like he'll be invulnerable (or better unreachable) while using the grenade launcher.

I'm really pleased to see that Snake has a Final Smash like this. I had hoped Fox's Final Smash was similar, where you would take control of the Arwing and fire at the stage from a distance just like that. Of course, then they pulled out the possibly even more fun Landmaster one. So it's nice to see someone has a 'shoot at the stage from a distance' Final Smash.

Plus this just lets me relive the glory days of GoldenEye and my Grenade Launcher mastery/spamming. @.@

It still strikes me as odd that they haven't announced Captain Falcon. In th original Smash he was probably my main character, but in Melee they made him too damn fast, and I couldn't control him (I ended up choosing Ganondorf, instead). Now that they say this game plays slower it would be the return of my pwnage as the Cap'n, but, sadly they hadn't shown any sign of him, besides Goroh.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but if the red one is Falcon, then the green one could be Jigglypuff (of whom we haven't heard anything yet, either), and the yellow could be Luigi, which are three of the four original secret characters. Maybe if you beat something in Multi Man-Melee, you may unlock them this time around. The "little" problem with my theory is the blue one, that looks like a girl. She may be Zero Suit Samus, or hell, I don't know.

Although, is much more likely that they do like they did in Melee and give them someone else's moves, exactly as you said, without any other significance.

So, Snake's Final Smash is to put his secksay booty in front of the screen and distract everyone from the fight.

Let me just say:

Red alloy is obviously at least posing as Captain Falcon, due to the picture by Xkeeper.(The site also refers to it as 'she')
Blue alloy appears to have a Zero Suit Samus-style 'ponytail.'(The site also refers to it as 'she')
Yellow Alloy's horns look suspiciously like Bowser's.(Although any similarities past that....)
Green Alloy just looks like Kirby/Jigglypuff.(the site says it's not Kirby, so..)

And who knows what they'll pull out moves-wise.

:tri: Zelda FS and Down-B spoilers right here! :tri: Read at own risk.

Please put some spoiler tags around when commenting, cause I know some people may not yet want to know this. Unless Sakurai thinks this should be today's update. Great choice for a Final Smash by the way, it suits her.

Great...

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

This doesn't surprise me, given the suspiciously absent European release date. Looks like the game was delayed by a week in Japan, too.

A week? What do they need to do that requires just one week to complete? @.@

I've recently been playing Pikmin so I must say the new stage is BLOODY AWESOME. XP Gorgeous, and I was really hoping for a Pikmin stage where everyone is tiny like Olimar. Fun.

Megaman might take a bit longer than a week to create, don't you agree?

They probably just had some packaging issues, or found a major bug in all American copies. Thus, they delayed us by a month and Japan by only a week. Or maybe I'm just totally guessing...

Even without clicking on Iron Knuckle's link, I was totally expecting this one. After all, it's half of the fun of Zelda's character, isn't it? Besides, Aonuma hinted at it waaay back. Ganon was hinted at as well.

Posted Image

Now THAT'S a screenshot.

Also, check back through all the characters... Everyone has their moves listed. It's just the names of the moves, but it's still interesting. I haven't looked at the moves of all the newcomers, but here's a couple of interesting points...

Bowser
Side Special Move - Flying Slam

Pit
Down Special Move - Mirror Shield

Zero Suit Samus
Final Smash - Power Suit Samus

There seems to be a lot of common misconceptions about the delay, mostly about what they're doing.

Please keep in mind that, if I say "I need three weeks to finish this", and sometime down the line, "I need another week to get it finished", that doesn't mean I have something else that I need to do in that week. That is, what I am working on during the added delay may very well have been started before the delay was even considered.

So it might not be "something they're doing in a week", as much as "something that they need a little more time to finish completely". The discrepancy between the two delay lengths might be something related to localization (getting a voice actor or more translation, etc.)

Also, in somebody else's words: "Today's update: Sheik's rack!"

The month is to 'localize' the game by stripping out all the things us poor Americans can't handle seeing, like Devil and Lucas. ;)

I think (almost) everybody was expecting it Fyxe, but it's nice to see it official. ;) Makes me almost feel as if they should have added a role for Sheik to TP itself. I think the complete special-moves rosters have been added because all characters special moves received full description in the latest Famitsu. The review panel gave the game a perfect score... Anyway, here's some pictures of the magazine showing Pit's mirror shield and such (click on the thumbs to enlarge).

Dammit! Sheik got even curvier! After arguing for so long that Sheik was male, now here's two hundred steps back for any credibility of LinkxSheik as a yaoi pairing. T_T

...but I still think Sheik's a male in OoT.

This always makes me laugh, why does it even matter what Shiek's gender is? It's Zelda in disguise no matter what way you throw it!

It does intrigue me that the design was supposedly a pre-production thing for Twilight Princess. Was there a Shiek appearance planned early on, mayhap?

Now I wonder if Wolf Link's gonna show up in Brawl. It would actually be cool if he was a separate playable character, possibly as a teamup with Midna. Wishful thinking, yeah, but still kind of cool.

Like I said, yaoi. One could infer that Link is attracted to Sheik (the romantic mood of their meetings, stepping towards him the desert colossus scene...) I've always seen them as a male-male pairing, so Sheik being a girl really messes with my mind. Plus, Zelda changes her eye color, hair length, skin tone, eyebrow shape, and apparently her muscle build, so it wouldn't make sense to not go all the way and just become a male since she's disguised as one.
