Ah, the Cappys aren't his subjects. Well, HE thinks they are. He's a self-proclaimed ruler though, so nobody actually recognises him as leader, and so they don't really, y'know, care about what he does. They leave him alone and hope he leaves them alone. Or something like that. They all look a bit dopey anyway.

His subjects are Waddle Dees, aren't they? They're not exactly bright. Or particularly bothered about much. Oh, and a lot of what happens with Dedede in the anime is a parody of America and George Bush in particular.

Wow. George Bush in Smash Bros. That's just spiffy.... And now we can throw a rock bonzai tree at him.

I can only hope he has the wild American accent he has in the anime (he even sounds vaguely American in the Japanese version).

They shouldn't call him sire then. Confusing things...
I know very little of Kirby, to be honest.

Given how Sonic has his Sonic X voice, it wouldn't take much for Dedede to have his dub voice.

Then again, Nintendo and 4Kids aren't exactly on good terms anymore.

In the English dub his accent kind of hovers between a Southern and Texas accent. Mostly to comedic effect.

Scares me a bit, though. Is that considered the 'regular' American accent? Of course I can't exactly talk, but I (and the rest of New England) definitely don't sound like that when I speak. :P

Not many people are on good terms with 4Kids. I think there are more people out there that would like to see them fail at this point.

What is this story behind 4Kids? I find it more interesting than the updates currently. Here's hoping they get approval to reveal some really nifty information before too long.

Not much of a story, really. They just suck at everything they dub. They edited out Guns in Yu-Gi-Oh, but didn't change the hands of the guys weilding them. The result led to a hilarious episode of The Abridged Sereis if nothing else.

There's a little about it on Wikipedia and plenty of sites that chronicle their changes.

I was really hoping that Waluigi would be playable. That's really too bad.

Yeah, I was a little upset at Waluigi as an assist trophy. He probably needs to get his own game first.

What gets me is when there's a sound clip involved with the special move. I get a little smile whenever I hear Kirby yelling 'Falcoooon, Puuuunch!'

It amazes me how they make the adventure mode to Super Smash Brothers look that cool in yesterday's update. I hope it's that fun to play. ^.^

And is it just me, or are those generic-black-blob-enemy guys in absolutely everything Japanese made?

hmm.. So much for the whole Megaman in Brawl idea. Although his inclusion could have worked out either way... Old style Megaman > New style Megaman imo.

Ah, nice to see Wario in his original outfit, somehow I find it more appropriate for him (not that his current design is bad).

Returning levels revealed. Would Final Destination be among them?

Hmm.. Since the game is near it's release in Japan some commercials are online too. I haven't seen them yet, but these are the links:

Some great stage choices for returning levels, I must say. I was going to miss Brinstar given that there is no longer an acid ocean stage among the new levels. Also Onett is a great stage.

The continued lack of an F-Zero stage or appearance of Captain Falcon disturbs me, however.

The commercials don't reveal anything we haven't seen already, but they do show some things in motion, which is nice. Ike and Dedede seem to have some amusing poses. XP Neither Sonic nor Snake make an appearance in any of them, which is mildly unusual...

Gah, I can't believe the game is out in like three weeks in Japan. That means in three weeks I'll have to go into spoiler shutdown for what will probably amount to months and months of waiting.

What is there to spoil though? It's not as if the adventure mode's plot has been written by Michael Moorcock.

I don't exactly want to know about all the hidden characters, all the hidden stages, trophies, the final boss, etc. before I get to play it.

And these things will be flying around like wildfire once it's released. I don't think it's odd to want to avoid all that stuff. There will be no surprises left. Half of the fun of games like this is wondering what it's going to throw at you next.

I would not have enjoyed Twilight Princess or Super Mario Galaxy half as much if I had known about all the various things that occur in the game.

Spoilers aren't just about plot, not at all.

I see your point, I guess I look at plot and everything else in a different light. I knew mostly everything (important) about Mario Galaxy before playing but it didn't affect my enjoyment of it. The game for me was more about skill than discovery. The reverse was true for Twilight Princess.

I will more than likely read everything about Smash Bros. before I play it as all I'm waiting for is to see how good I am at it, not who the hidden characters are. I would have never unlocked Mewtwo in Melee had I not known to keep my Cube in a faux vs match overnight and clock up the required 20 hours.

Well, if nothing else the Japanese commercial indicates that the Pokemon Trainer will be fully voice acted.

Let's just hope they don't get the 4Kids dub voices for it.

oh god, considering that the Euro release has 5 different languages that would mean the release will be delayed even further, if they need to do voice acting for all of them. :( Also the quality for most is probably not the same as in English. I turned my Euro chart to German and French for once, but Purin's sounds didn't get any better because of that. The audience cheers most notable.

Also the wire frames are replaced by the Power Ran... well, something like it. Although, red is not the leader here. Wonders were pink is... Maybe she's hidden?

Nah, it's clearly a ripoff of the completely original Axem Rangers.

Co-op fighting polygon/wireframe/alloy teams - now that's something I'm excited about! Brawling as a team is something I've always enjoyed, but with my usual group of three people when I have a hang-out night, team battels are unbalanced. Now with online team co-oop stuff, the game is going to be, like 50 times more fun!

*is excited again!* :)

yeah, and unexpected too. I like the idea, but I didn't know Olimar's status was that high. With his confirmation there's still plenty of possibilities for others.
The one and only captain is still missing, though.
