There are always chances. Even if it is the next thing down from infinity:1 then that is still a chance. The dudes making smash could all go insane and put out a buttload of non-related characters, or kill each other. But the odds of something like that happening are minuscule. No, the odds are zero.but the odds are so minuscule.

If he doesn't appear in the game, I'll just assume it's because he was too awesome, and it wouldn't be a fair fight.

See the Zelda sections to understand the joke.
As for Sonic... er... whoop-de-doo. Don't really care either way. Never did like that series much. Megaman showing up would be fitting, as that would make for the ultimate laser-armed battle of the sexes between him and Samus. I would normally doubt any RE characters showing up, because that's traditionally a Sony series. ...But then so was Metal Gear. If they did do RE, they'd probably go with Chris or Jill or Wesker or something.

Jack Sparrow in Smash is like Link's mother being impregnated by the Deku Tree.
See the Zelda sections to understand the joke.
*Shutter*
The key difference is that I don't think anyone's (too) serious here.
Megaman showing up is to be expected; over half of the Megaman games have been on Nintendo systems.
Resident Evil and Sonic have both had at least one game on a system, so if one's enough to get snake, then we should see some RE people showing up.

Though really, for the most part, MGS shuns Nintendo even in the handheld arena.

As much as I disliked Twin Snakes, I can't say that bothers me much.

Plus the game isn't gonna be released for awhile yet, so I'm not fond of knowing tons of specifics about it before then.

Or do you think that'll start the whole 'games shouldn't be released until they're 100 percent finished' thing again. But to be fair, developers never always fit everything they want in, because they're thinking up new ideas when it's too late to fit them in.
I hope we get another character reveal this week - Olimar, Ganondorf, or K. Rool would make me happy. It'd actually be cool if you could unlock the Wind Waker version of Ganondorf as a 'skin' for the Twilight Princess incarnation.

Actually, that's not really so farfetched since the Wii system has already embraced downloadable content with Guitar Hero III on the Wii, but I would still be suprised to see it implemented into the SSB series. Now I'm not sure if anyone's asked this already, but does anyone think downloadable characters for Brawl might be a possibility at some point in the future?
Although downloadable skins would be so cool. ;3; I would love to be able to play the SSBM Fox in SSBB.

Still, the stage looks very nice, though it's a shame the city itself is all background instead of being the stage itself. (Then again, I'd rather have a good stage than another dose of Fourside.)
As for downloadable characters and skins, I'd go for that. I don't know what the likely hood of it happening is, but it's still a nice idea.
Actually, I'd prefer an alternate skins system to get the effects of Clones in SSBM. IE, you turn on the Dr. Mario skin and you get pills instead of fireballs that do different damage and have a differnet arc. You put a 'Warlock' skin on Captain Falcon to do Ganondorf-style damage, etc.

Just a quick and pointless observation, but the oval thing in the background reminds me a little of the Smash Brothers logo. Hmmm.

The shield does look like it would make it a heck of a lot more fun.
You can actually pull out some real attacks now!
