For the shield, I'm wondering whether some attacks may be able to break through it. Attacks like Roy's explosive version of Marth's Shield Breaker on Melee were sometimes used instead of the baseball bat to smash the sandbag. Will it be possible to get it through the shield using that sort of attack in Brawl or will we have to use the bat to get through the shield?

You know the 'hardcore' Tournament Players are probably going to say the shield nerfs the skill level of the minigame or something stupid.

I think the 2P mode will also add to that. I recall that already some of the records got stuck in Melee because the bag fell of the stage as the distance was too long. Ah, well those players should not complain; at least they can play HRC at all. Besides this game is not meant to be played only by the 1337. :P

Don't care. I dug a bunch of Gamecube controllers out of my basement to play Brawl. The Wiimote alone controls will be a novelty at best.

Meowth isn't that special. Just another Poké ball Pokémon. I hope they introduce another playable character this week.

There's so much nostalgia crammed into this game it makes SSBM look puny by comparison.

Peach's Final Smash looks like something out of a DBZ redux. :S

Also. did anyone realize that this is the FIRST TIME EVER that Peach has had anything to do with the food she was named after AT ALL?

Awesome, Peach's final smash! It's so pretty~! I love the screen frame.

Also. did anyone realize that this is the FIRST TIME EVER that Peach has had anything to do with the food she was named after AT ALL?

Yeah, I did. It's very surprising.

False. Belome says she tastes "Peachy" in SMRPG, when that name wasn't even well-known stateside. Blink-and-you'll-miss-it blip from an obscure game, yeah, but it's there.

Peachy can also be a synonym for good, though it's usually used sarcastically.

Well, yeah, it's a joke, but it was based on the name; it just got lost on the non-Japanese audience that didn't know her name was "Peach."

Aaaaanyway, who else has (or should I ask who hasn't) seen the new videos? I'm seriously digging the DK/Diddy story especially. It looks somewhat like DKC with today's power, and Diddy himself looks extremely loyal to his origins.

Here is a trailer which links together all the scenes of the Subspace Emissionary, edited in a nice way without too much interruptions.

Screw that, I'd rather play the game properly, kthnx.

God, I really hate that they released a demo. Now I have to metaphorically keep my fingers in my ears wherever I go on the internet.

Am I the only person in the world who likes to feel like she hasn't already played the game before she plays it? Seriously. Official daily updates is one thing, but tons of detailed demo info is annoying.

It's not that bad. The trailer links together the pieces you've seen so far; it only show the introduction and just a wee bit further. But if you're concerned about spoilers I can understand that point. The vid was compiled from Gametrailers using the footage released at "E for All 2007" expo. There's also another 2-min melee brawl there.

Other than that the article by the Wiire shows that everything is working out very smoothly only Meta Knight seems to be too good at comboing other characters, which may give him an unfair advantage.

No doubt he is intended be the beginer's choice, similar to Mario. Likewise, he will not be someone who takes a lifetime to master. On the contrary, there are people, like Samus, who do take a long time to master. So there are people that are playable for beginers to balance out the veteran choices.

What I mean is, people who play as MetaKnight may not be able to get significantly better, if the trends from SSBM continue, and these reports are accurate.

I intend to stick to my Jigglypuff, Yoshi, and Samus from the last game.
Sonic and Pit look like they'll be fun, as well, while having a decent learning curve as well.

They've got plenty of time to balance the game. The PAL version of Melee was fixed and balanced simply during the localisation, so the extra time they'll have by putting the release date back will allow them to balance things properly.

Then again, people claiming Meta Knight is too powerful might be talking out of their ass. You can't tell if someone is actually overpowered or not based on a mere demo.

The person from The Wiire did play the game intensively during the last three days and claims to have played melee 1000+, so he knows the mechanics of the game. Check the link above, I'm not making this up it's just a reference to his article.

So what? Half of the Smash World Forums could claim the same thing and they're all infighting tourney obsessed morons who think that Shiek is the best character in Melee cos there's this guy who always uses Shiek and always wins the tourneys and he's so awesome and brilliant and he's got some name that nobody gives a damn about but lets refer to him as if everyone knows him blah blah I want his babies he's so hot he made me orgasm when I watched a Youtube video of his last match.

Yeah, sorry, I don't trust people who think that by playing a demo 'obsessively' means they know absolutely every flaw in the finished product. I'd rather trust actual professional testers and the people who made the game. Given all the insane number of variables in Melee, the final game was rediculously balanced (especially the PAL version). I would be surprised if Brawl is much different.

What are the exact differences between PAL and NOA Melee? It's the first time I heard that in PAL it's more balanced o.o

True Fyxe, but I think that when the game comes out there will be more than one person moaning about Metaknight's 'unbreakable' power. Anyway, we'll see. I'm sure Sakurai and his team knows what they're doing.

Arturo here's a few things that got changed:

-Bowser, Kirby and Yoshi got heavier
-Marth, Fox and Mario got lighter
-Falco's D-Air only spikes in the beginning
-Marth's D-Air moves the target in a slightly different trajectory
-Yoshi Drill kick does little less damage
-Ganon's D-Air does little less damage
-IC's grab glitch which freezes the opponent mid-air was fixed
-Lag and loading times have been reduced in PAL (woohoo)
-probably some more things I don't recall right now...

Fyxe, I don't know if you're doing it on purpose or not, so, to clarify, you do know it's spelt "ridiculously," right? Becasue you spell it with an e every single time and I can't tell if you're trying to stress your pronunciation or just spelling it wrongly. Because it really grates me!

Ahem.

I'll probably wait for the dojo updates without looking around too much for more spoilers. This game will be fun... Hopefully it will come out during some holidays, so my university work doesn't suffer.

Toys R Us: "Super Smash Bros. Brawl in stores December 4th"

I know they screwed up in their ad, but there's the part in me that hopes they didn't.
