Agreed about another SSB concert/CD. *nods*
Oh, and the main theme sounds as cool as ever! I wonder if it will be the opening theme.

Well, the sequencing isn't particularly realistic, but I think that's intentional for the most part - It is very clear they want the music to sound "old school" while still giving it that orchestral flair. Even so, it is strange there aren't more songs that are actually orchestrated. Given the list of composers I'd have thought Nintendo would go all the way with this one.My only real complaint thus far with the muic is that while Melee had a good combination of sampled music and actual music, most of Brawl's seems to be sampled. Even so, it's minor because the quality of the samples is pretty good, so as long as the arrangements are great, this'll be sweet.
In either case, it is unfortunate. I had hoped Brawl would set a new audio standard for Nintendo games. Now I have neither orchestral nor vocal action (though I didn?t expect that). Maybe Zelda Wii...

I could be entirely wrong, but I'd be surprised. It'd definitely seem like a waste. And why should Nobou Uematsu be the only one allowed to do such a piece?

Bah. No excuse for using such low quality midi samples, particularly in the Zelda medley. Intentional would be like the Mushroom Kingdom stage(s), or the Balloon Fight and Mach Rider tunes - this is just flat out odd.
But again, the arrangements themselves are strong for the msot part, so I'm cool. Mostly.

It's possible that what was up on the site was just a 1.0 version, and the actual in-game music will be higher quality.

I wasn't talking about sample quality. Most of the music simply isn't properly sequenced to sound as if it was played by a real orchestra. Tempo and dynamics in particular need to be altered before a NES tune like the Kid Icarus Underworld theme becomes a melodic symphony akin to the Kirby songs in Melee (of course, those were orchestrated, but its still an arrangement issue).Bah. No excuse for using such low quality midi samples, particularly in the Zelda medley. Intentional would be like the Mushroom Kingdom stage(s), or the Balloon Fight and Mach Rider tunes - this is just flat out odd.

And about Kid Icarus, that bass line was definitely intended to emulate NES sounds.
As for the samples, I don't see anything particularly wrong with the Zelda medley. Strings and brass instruments sound pretty flimsy, yes, but that's the case for all songs. And at least it doesn't sound like it was played on an N64, like the Yoshi's Story ending does.

Anyway, I can guarantee that all the music will sound noticably better on the final game, even if that's only down to it coming out of a television. Besides, I doubt we've heard the stuff on the scale of Melee's Corneria or Fountain of Dreams themes yet. I mean, look at how many muscians there are, absolutely loads, and how many songs have we heard? Like, six or seven. Briefly.
I really hope that at least one of the Fire Emblem theme(s) will be orchestrated. I'm sure one of the Zelda themes will be.

Also, Uematsu might be the only one with an orchestral piece in Brawl, but he still isn't listed as a composer on the site... Big miss by Sakurai, eh?

Anyway, Munchlax seems like a cute addition to the game. His function is simple, but it works; however, I was a bit startled to see how plain his 3D model was. At least give him a tongue or something. D: Though I do love how the Animal Crossing residents in the final screenshot look horrified at his appetite.

Both are technically the main theme of the series, though.
Presumably, therefore, Brawl has two versions of the main theme, a version of the Title from TLoZ being one of them.

Still lovin' My Music.
EDIT: Hold up...you know what I think? I think that the whole "Legend of Zelda"-after-the-song-title-thing won't matter. That doesn't automatically mean it's from the original. Let me explain. There could be dozens of "Title" themes and "Overworld" themes. But, to clarify which series they're from, the series is put in parenthesis, as shown...so perhaps there is hope for TP's overworld theme yet!

If Marth isn't playable in Brawl I'm going to gut somebody.
At least Lyn makes an appearance, I suppose.
But still, fuck.

Anyway, not straying off this topic any guesses on how many playable characters get in. Counting 12 in the first part and 25 (+Sheik) in Melee then Brawl ends up with 38~40?

As for the number of characters, It probably won't be higher than 35. While there are already eight new players confirmed there are some Melee veterans who probably won't make the cut, most notably Pichu and Falco.

And I bet there will be at least 2 charas from FE in it. Still no Capt. Falcon though...
Given Samurai Goroh is an assist trophy, he's probably bound to be in.
