Also, whoever drew those lines conveniently ignored all the other various things those clouds could be, and seems to have a habit of drawing in lines where there aren't any.

Not really. Giga Bowser looks like a souped up Bowser, with identical or almost identical moveset and whatnot. It's a powerup. Plus it's temporary, like a star or a mushroom. Zero Suit Samus, on the other hand, looks like she has a completely different moveset... and the transformation isn't a temporary powerup, it stays there until something happens to change her back. Probably death, or a final smash. If ZZS was limited to the Final Smash, then you could argue that Giga Bowser would count as a seperate character, but he doesn't. So I still think that there's a way of playing as ZZS without having to use the Final Smash.
Kinda weird design for the new 'villain', though.
...Master Hand, are you there? [
Look at the picture again; there's a red line coming out of the thing's head. I think it's a puppet, and Master Hand is controlling the strings.

You could argue the same thing about the 'clone' characters, the difference is very similar indeed. Giga Bowser is definitely a seperate character, his moveset, while visually similar, is quite different. His attacks can freeze opponents and other things, and Gameshark has apparently revealed that he has a special killer throw (which may or may not exist in Brawl). Not really. Giga Bowser looks like a souped up Bowser, with identical or almost identical moveset and whatnot.
I still think there will be ways to play as ZSS without using the Final Smash, because it might annoy people if you're forced to.
Anyway, I like today's update. ^^ A good old moving stage, brilliant. I like moving stages, I just hope that the computer players are more intelligent on them. This one looks more fun than Icicle Mountain too. It's wider and larger, the flaw with the stage in Melee was that it was too narrow.

coincidence? i think not.

edit; Interesting how the new level is based on the DK rhythm game as opposed to a platform game. The music in that level should be entertaining as hell; pity it's a vertically scrolling level. That there is has a supposedly awesome goal at the very top is quite enticing, though.

Jungle Beat IS a platform game. Using the bongos to control DK. Apparently it's rather spiffy. I'm aiming to get hold of it at some point.Interesting how the new level is based on the DK rhythm game as opposed to a platform game.
Mirren, Delphino Plaza and the castle stage look like it'll have more platforms, and there's also the Bridge of Eldin, which has... Um, one.

I have to say I always prefered Yoshi's look before the GC days (of which his Melee look was based on) but oh well, at least his recovery won't suffer from the annoying flaw that he can only perform it once, even if he is hit.

Fighter was one of my favourite abilities in Kirby's Fun Pak.

I really enjoyed Jungle Beat, even if it didn't feel like Donkey Kong Country. The visuals are very pretty though, and there's a lot more levels in it than some might have you believe.
I really like the look of the Rumble Falls stage, too. Now I'd just like to see a Kongo Jungle stage, and another entirely new stage from Donkey Kong Country. A pirate ship - from DKC2 - or a minecart stage would be brilliant.
My only disappointment so far with Brawl is that all the stages revealed thus far are structurally alike. Well, most of them, anyway.

Marth BETTER still be in the game though, or I'll kill things. The FE logo is still the Falchion, and that castle stage is bound to be Akanea, so there's still hope.
And eh, Ike isn't THAT bad. He's still a FE character, and that pleases me greatly. ^^

Otherwise they could've done a million times better than Ike. Roy, Sigurd, Celice or even Leaf have more flare than that guy, Marth is a given though I have no doubts. Heck even Ephraim would've been nice, his game may not ammount to anything but at least the guy was a badass.

Ephraim would have been nice, at least he uses something other than a sword. I would have liked Sigurd, Serlis and Leaf, but only if they weren't going to put Marth in. They're all too similar to him in fighting style, you see. At least Ike is a bit different, he fights like a Mercenary or Hero rather than a standard rapier-using Lord.
Still, it should have been Lyn or Hector. Easily. Oh well, here's hoping for three FE characters. o.o

I wouldn't be surprised if he's the only FE character we get. He's too similar to Marth... it would be very hard to distinguish the two.

His fighting style is not like Marth; there will be a lot of annoyance if Marth isn't in. Ike is (fairly) slow and powerful, the exact opposite of Marth.
And LionHarted, that's not true. If it wasn't for Marth and Roy in Melee, the whole series might never have made a mark outside of Japan.

Marth & Roy were going to be in the Japanese verison of Smash Bros. Melee anyway. Their popularity during playtesting brought them over here. Their popularity in Smash Bros. prompted the international success of Fire Emblem. Reasonably, the characters that are now popular here as characters from Fire Emblem games we've gotten make more sense as choices, since the series is popular even to non-Smash Bros. Melee players, and including characters THEY're familiar with will draw THEM in.

I didn't even mention fighting style. I was talking about appearance. In the fray of battle, it would be hard to tell who was Marth and who was Ike.
And adding on to what LionHarted said: Including Ike is a great move. It will certainly make gamers interested in Fire Emblem yet again, but this time it'll actually be a character from a game they can actually play! Talk about a twist!

I've always thought the castle stage in Brawl looks a lot like Castle Daein from Path of Radiance. The colours, and the dark, gritty look reminds me of it. But it's anyone's guess. Once I used to think it was Hyrule Castle from Twilight Princess, but after playing Zelda, I know it definately isn't.
Really happy about the inclusion of Ike. If there's going to be any more Fire Emblem characters though, I'd wager they're going to be from Path of Radiance, too. I'd like to see Princess Elincia (I think that was her name), or the Black Knight, if possible. Then again, the Black Knight might end up being too similar to Ganondorf, so perhaps not.
I guess there might be more deserving characters in its sequel, but we've yet to play it in the West, so we wouldn't know.

An injustice would be a understatement. It'd be the FE equivilent of dropping Mario for Waluigi. If he's the only FE character, an injustice would have occured.
Thats true but its also pretty stupid not to include one as well considering these things.Characters from older, JPN-only games, IMO, are probably not going to make it (outside of perhaps one of the veteran Smashers), since promoting trademark characters from the internationally-released games is wiser from a marketing standpoint.
-The Judgral sagas are still considered the golden age of the series
-In the JPN character polls suggestions, Sigurd of FE4 came out higher ranked than Black Knight Zelgadis or Ike did.
-FE4 still holds the title for highest selling FE ever.
It'd be stomping all over the original FE fanbase if they don't have either of the two Baldur Lords.
Actually SSBM released before FE6 did.Marth & Roy were going to be in the Japanese verison of Smash Bros. Melee anyway. Their popularity during playtesting brought them over here.
Roy didn't even exist yet.

Easily answered by saying that this game is being geared toward an international audience, not a Japan-localized one. And that Sakurai has said himself he wishes not to include Japan-only characters.

I for one wouldn't mind seeing an archer, either. The last few FE games have had plenty of awesome archer characters.
Oh well. I still think he's a sweet addition, just not as cool as a Fire Emblem character should be. Heres hoping that Lyn will be next; she's both archer and swordswoman, and she's awesome in every way. AND she's a major lord character from an internationally released game, so she's important enough to be added.
Oh, and I've heard that Sakurai wants to include more female characters.

I'm hoping that since Ike was revealed pretty damn soon, then that means that there will be a more awesome FE character waiting in the wings. Back when they did the old Melee website, they didn't reveal the secret characters until much later on.

I think he'll end up being a neat addition. Unlike Roy or Marth, Ike's not exactly lithely, his forte is strength and simply overwhelming opponents. I'm also intrigued about how the game will handle his Skills, as the site already mentioned Aether. Maybe he's not as charismatic as some past FE protagonists, but I'd say he's one the best choices in terms of gameplay.
EDIT-
Hmm, I wonder if they're considering any Laguz characters.
