(gives me hope considering he's the lead in a tv adaption of a Pratchett book)

WHAAAAT. Which book? I love Pratchett. Please tell me he's not playing Rincewind. Noooo. Bad.

Although I suppose it might not be a Discworld book, but Pratchett hasn't done many of them...

I think it's that Johny... Johny... Johny Whatsisfaceguy. Did things with bombs, wasn't as good as Discworld.

Y'know what I'm talking about. ;)

Oh, one of those books. Meh, pleh, as long as it's not Discworld that's ok. I can't imagine the BBC or whatever doing justice to Discworld with a live action show.

Discworld is best when it's animated.

Eh, the books are good enough for me. The Johny Maxwell thing is on CBBC, I think, or was, or will be.

Actually it's Hogfather, and he's playing that great character Jonathan Teatime, which seriously worried me because I have so clear an idea of how it should be approached. It's on at christmas and David Jason is playing Albert the butler, but its going to be on Sky so I probably won't get to see it anyway.

Apparently he's really good at playing creepy villians, so I suppose he could do Teatime quite well.

Sky One? Hope so. Hogfather is one of my favourite books. I wonder who's playing Death... Probably himself, he usually plays himself.

There's some good info here, the cast list is looking pretty impressive too, and Death is being played by someone with a weird name...

As long as it has Tony Robinson in it, it's gonna be Discworld. I associate him so much with Discworld ever since I played the old point and click game.

I haven't read Hogfather, but David Jason as Albert? That's going to rock.

And those wizards look how they should do. Good.

Death will be playing himself, obviously. Wonder how they'll do his voice? Not exactly easy to speak as though your voice is, uh, concrete paving slabs or however it was described.

You know that Absorbaloth episode was a complete waste of time........

Heck they should be visiting more planets affected by the Time War or something. By the way does anyone want to bet the Face of Boa's message will be something like some of the Time Lord's survived?

It's going to be something cheesey, definitely. The one thing I'm not going to expect from them, however, is...

"Doctor, you're not really the Doctor. You are in fact, the Master!"

No way would they be THAT creative/stupid.

Good episode this week, if a little amusing..."Not you too Bob!" And Rose got to save the day as well, there was also this nostalgic feeling for me because of the memories I had because I use to sing that Kookaburra (sp?) song when I was younger. But I am really excited for next week's episode.

BTW do you guys see Rose as a Mary Sue type character?

I disliked this episode even more than the last one. For one thing, it was blatantly 'filler' and not good filler at that. Have you noticed how stupidly loud and over the top the music is? It was worse on this one.

The scribble monster was actually kinda cool, but there was some MASSIVE plotholes in there, which is always annoying when the show appears to take itself so seriously sometimes. Honestly. What the hell was that 'feel the love' crap? And would the torch-running really continue as if nothing had happened if everyone in the stadium just vanished?

Also, terrible dialogue, most notably 'It's all coming up Doctor!'.

Yes yes, we all know Daleks are gonna be in it, which will hopefully save the episode from just being *another* Rise of the Cybermen.

Tekky, you liked the episode before as well. ¬.¬ I think you'll just like any episode. I wish I was able to be less critical but it just stuns me how they can jump so much from 'really quite good geniunely creepy stuff' to 'poorly scripted plotholed nonesense'.

It's simple, they have some piss-poor writers working for them as well as some good writers. I think Russel T. Davies should take the hint and fire a few people. The abusive father bit of this episode did kinda stop the episode from being too stupid, but it was just... Urgh. I hated it.

I didn't mind it, though I thought the whole Olympic backdrop was stupid and too full of plotholes to ignore. When the Doctor picked the torch up.... urgh.

Nothing can be as bad as the Abzorbaloff episode, so the only way is up. Pointless alien filler episodes are okay if they're good episodes in their own right. This latest one was 'meh', but not terrible.

Oooh, from the BBC Website... One of the lines in Saturday's episode is going to be, "She's not Rose Tyler, not anymore"
I wonder what this could mean? Whats going to happen to Rose? Will she be posessed by a ghost?| Cyberconverted? Excitement! Also, Mickey and Jake are apparently back

For Goose's benefit I'm putting everything I'm going to state in spoiler tags.

Spoiler : click to show/hide
That reminds me of the statement the werewolf made. "There's something of the wolf about you," or something along those lines.

I suspect, however, that Rose Tyler, being the Mary Sue she is will do another Deus Ex Machina.

Does anyone know if and when the episodes are repeated? I missed the first 25 minutes and I was also meant to record it for someone. I can't find when the repeat is so if anyone could help, that would be good.

Well, we saw the Daleks coming. And the writers admitted in the Doctor Who Confidential that followed after it that there are two Torchwood bases and that no matter how utterly the Daleks are destroyed, they'll use a Deus Ex Machina to bring them back.

How nice of them to admit that they suck...
