I laughed at the end, we get the Doctor nearly saying "I love you", and as he's getting over this rather poignant moment, ZOMGCATHERINETATE!

Yeah, that was a WTF moment, alright.

I'm holding out hope that there was something else in the Ark with the Daleks. I know he has practically nothing to do with them, but since it's rumoured he's going to show up in series 3, I hope the Master was in that Time Lord prison.

The Master? I hope he wasn't in that prison. Perhaps in another Sphere of his own, but not in that prison. It wouldn't make sense.

Spoiler : click to show/hide
At least this time round the writers have a logical excuse for bringing back the Daleks. You know, what with the one Dalek escaping through time. I wonder if the other cultist Daleks escaped with him, though?

]We've also got the Face of Boe to come back and say his piece. I'd forgotten about him, I thought the finale was going to end with him popping up.

I'd forgotten about him too.

What I want to know is, how will "Doomsday" fit in with "Dalek"? The Dalek Rose mentioned should be on Earth at that time, wouldnt he detect the other Daleks, or they detect him? And if Earth has nearly been conquered twice by aliens, how does that tie in with Adam Mitchell's comments about people who have seen aliens are nutters? If history HAS been changed, how does that tie in with Rose and the 9th Doctor's adventures (a similar thing with Harriet Jones and her supposed 3 terms)

And what about the Reapers? Or did they only show up because Rose changed HER past?

I can't remember the episode, but the Doctor did comment that they can't go back to previous events and 'try again' or something.

I interpreted that as the Doctor's and Rose's timeline stays constant and everything else 'moves around' them. The Reapers showed up because of a paradox in the time traveller's line.

I dunno, I'm only guessing. Every show with time travel has their own rules regarding it.

I think the best rule with time travel stories, is dont try and analyse it, cause you'll get a head ache! Summed up nicely in Austin Powers 2

Austin: Hold on, if I was frozen in 1967, presumably I could visit my frozen self. But, if I was still frozen, how could I have been defrosted in the 90s and oh no, I've gone cross eyed
Basil: I suggest you dont worry about that sort of thing and enjoy yourself. *To the audience* That goes for you all too!

I thought that all occurred before the Daleks, but now that I think about it, didn't the Daleks invade London during the 60s too? Gosh, time travelling is all so confusing.

By the way, I've just been thinking and decided that the Cybermen are counter-intuitive.

A recent study was done (in 2004) on those with strong political allegiances to Democrats or Republicans. They were asked to assess statements made by Kerry or Bush. It was shown that the part of the brain associated with logical reasoning was least active, whilst the part responsible for processing emotion, the part associated with conflict resolution and the part associated with judgements on moral accountability were most active.

A Cyberman would have had none of those parts of the brain active, as they are all suppressed. Therefore, a Cyberman would not be able to hold a political allegiance. Free of the emotions that restrict their thinking (at least politically and possibly socially), they would be more capable of being an individual than a human being, surely?

Anyone disagree?
