Crap. My friend got on my comp, and went and posted something like that, under my name, at like... twenty forums. I'm getting really annoyed, finding them everywhere.

Well, next time don't leave your computer unattended. Or if your friend is in the room and you are called off, log off quickly as he doesn't know your password.

Sety, how far are you in Fire Emblem 8? Have you beaten it already? I'm still wondering how many more chapters to go...

Yes, but there's the ruins and the tower levels. There is also one gaiden chapter.

The one gaiden chapter....during the tutorial chapters.....

The Ruins...pretty stinkin easy even in hard mode...except for last level is quite hard and almost makes up for the trek.

Towers nearly beat me by BORING me to death.

Heck forget beating those, I've unlocked all the secret characters already including the last boss -.-

New scans. I'd post them here, but you can see some priliminary translations at the link:

Personally, I am extremely annoyed that they're bringing catgirls into the FE franchise. Sure, characters that can transform into animals are all well and good... but cat girls? Ick. I will admit she's kinda cute... but she'd look far better without the cat ears and tail. ;)

What's so annoying about those of the race of cats? Their looks? Maybe they should have dressed up in a better fashion.... anyway, they might have special inborn abilities which humans normally do not have. Having a team made up of different races can give you lots of advantages in a quest.

Catgirls annoy me. They always have.

Putting catgirls in the game has no effect on gameplay... any special abilities or gameplay elements they introduce could be done without catgirls, or with less... blatant, stereotypical fan-service catgirls.

Actually in this case it does....>_>

She can transform you know? Unless you rather she had a beard.

What...? I fail to see the relevance, but ok ;)

This is turning into a bigger deal then I meant for it to be, though. It's a small complaint, and one I don't feel strongly about either way.

Yeah but reason I'm an ass is because too many people kept complaining about it. Its just a catgirl so get over it....you'd be surprised how long it originally took everyone to calm down abit when it first showed up.

Hmmm... Theres only one character there who's class I can tell for sure. The Peg knight.

I'd guess....
The silver haired man to be a mercenary, The darker knight to be either a general or a greatknight, and the blue haired girl to be a dark magic user. (summoner?)

I have no idea what he winged dude is. He reminds me of the hawkmen of ogre battle.

How close did I get with my guesses? =p

The 'mercenary' guy is the swordfighter/swordmaster character.

And not much is known yet about the others....although it mentions the girl is the empress/emperor of some nation.

Well swordfighters in FE4/5 could promote to Heroes or Swordmasters..... and besides it says he uses a Kill Sword....its sorta FE staple the main swordfighter character gets a Kill Sword to start.

It seems we have a Fire Emblem fanatic on this board :P.

Anyways, I've read through the entire thread (although I should've skipped some of Sety's earlier posts with the screenshots and such ;)).

Just a few notes I didn't see around:
Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki (the latest GBA game) got the subtitle "The Sacred Stones" for the North American release. I'm glad that they aren't calling it Fire Emblem 2, which while I doubted I did fear for a moment there. Too bad Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (the first Fire Emblem released in NA) didn't get a subtitle though.

Fire Emblem: Soeun no Kiseki will feature two new types of characters in the cat people (there's a girl and a guy) that can morph into an animal form and a winged race (that you can see in the magazine scan posted here).
Also, according to a Fire Emblem fanatic that I know Ike's class is "Ranger." That's an interesting note considering this is apparently the first time a main character in the Fire Emblem series isn't a Lord (although nothing stops him from promiting himself into a Lord in the future however).
Some units can also once again wield both magic and weapons now (which I've heard was allowed in some past games) and the new game may be going back to the triangle system of elements of the old rather than combining them together into the Anima type like the GBA games.
The game is tenatively scheduled for June here in the U.S. although has the April 20 release date in Japan. They might be able to make a June release depending on whether or not they began to hire voice actors and the translation process but I think that date will probably slip into July or August.

I've only played the one that came to the U.S. although I've been following the series for some time. Still praying that they'll one day release some of the old Fire Emblems though whether it be as remakes are ports (most wanted being Thracia 776 and Geneology of the Holy Wars).
It's a solid game. Very smooth moving strategy game that's easy to pick up and yet still provides a bit of challenge (albeit it isn't really that difficult, I have restarted a number of times though as I wanted to keep all my characters alive).

I thought I might see a post from you in this thread, Skyreus ;)

The subtitle thing isn't news to me, but, truth be told, once I found that Fire Emblem board, I haven't been as careful about reporting the news here.

I very much look forward to both these games. Probably, with the exception of Zelda, my most anticipated games of this year. At the moment, Seima no Kouseki gets more of my attention, but that's beginning to change, as more information is released on Souen no Kiseki.

Actually thats pretty inaccurate......

Alm from FE: Gaiden was not a Lord nor was Celica....

That would because the magic and strength stats are separated
