Just the last time I checked, advertisement and commercial are the same thing according to the english language.

Commercials are advertisements.Riiiight......
Just the last time I checked, advertisement and commercial are the same thing according to the english language.
Advertisements don't necessarily have to be commercials in more conventional views and word usage.
But technicalities aside as I said I glanced through the thread quickly and saw no "commercial" (okay, I used the "Find" feature) so I posted it up and I already apologized for missing it.
There's really no reason to get into any sort of argument over something so trivial.

Is this thread dead?
Dunno. I'm done with the Japanese version a long time ago and I got the English version a few days back. Just a few more chapters towards the end. I'm more interest in Ephraim, Joshua, Myrrh and Seth.EDIT- Hey, I just discovered that The Sacred Stones is coming out on May 23rd. How long has this info been out? o.0
Besides, I don't get what Lyon was saying at the hot area. :s:

Story has been weakened further by bad translation and I've finished the game completely...now I can 100% say it is a bigger let down than FE7 was.
They've also screwed around with the stats and growths for no apprent reason making near next to no worthwhile changes.

Lets point out a few downsides......Don't you guys like the new classes and new enemies in the game? Despite its drawbacks, I liked Sacred Stones better than its prequel. There are training grounds available (tower & ruins) but the setback is there's too little way to get more funding for strong equipments. <_<
Edit: Oh shoot, I didn't know there were special endings in the game.
-No more in game CG's
-Less memorable music
-Less animated faces
-Less entertaining supports
-Typos and mistranslations galore
-Lazy classes.....if you don't believe me make Marisa and Joshua into Assassins, Joshua just has Jaffar's sprite and Marisa uses Josh with pink hair. Also Valkyrie and Mage Knight.
-No more ranking
-Too easy to powerlevel
-Money is WAY too easy to get and you get free weapons in tower and ruins
-Playing the game afterwards for secret charas is pointless since you can't save anyway or use them in scenarios like in FE6.
-Every character can max near all stats.
Although this could be ammounted to FE8 was actually not made by the FE team and was a hand me down project....the actual FE team was doing FE9.

And the fact about easy money, were you referring to the chests in the tower? I haven't come across one yet. In the battlefield, monsters only give like 1, 50 or 100 gold in a single battle as my party's equipments constantly wear out.
Oh, and that ending of Joshua and Natasha was romantic. I didn't think of that from the beginning when they first met.

I really enjoy the field music being played after the splitting of paths though (I chose Eirika's path for my first playthrough and kept a save file to go back to Ephraim afterwards). But nevertheless overall the score is weaker.
One more thing I would like to add is the lack of Gaiden chapters. Those made a pretty big difference in the number of chapters between the two games (taking Lyn's tutorial chapters out of the mix). Just off the top of my head there were probably about five Gaiden chapters at least in The Blazing Sword.
But then again there are the extra dungeons in The Sacred Stones that I haven't gone through yet.
I probably don't have the dislike towards The Sacred Stones as much as Sety does but it's definitely a far weaker title compared to The Blazing Sword from what I've played so far.
Oh, and it just so happened Nintendo decided to release The Sacred Stones on the same day as the amazing WarioWare Twisted

BTW Sety, have you played Path of Radiance (a.k.a. Souen no Kiseki) yet? If you have what do you think so far?

I saw WarioWare Twisted too and I was thinking about trying out that game after beating The Sacred Stones. But instead, I ended up getting Wario Land 4.Oh, and it just so happened Nintendo decided to release The Sacred Stones on the same day as the amazing WarioWare Twisted
.

This is a bit off topic but did any of you play Advance Wars 2? The game's bit similar to Fire Emblem.

Yes I imported it.....BTW Sety, have you played Path of Radiance (a.k.a. Souen no Kiseki) yet? If you have what do you think so far?
Overall its a awesome game the fact its made by the main team definitely shows, although the Normal/Hard/Extreme modes are complete jokes....since Normal = Easy, Hard = Normal and Extreme = Hard. Although theres way more notable differences between the modes than simply pumped up enemies which is good.
Characters....are definitely on drugs....no doubt, but skills tend to stop them being unstoppable at the same time also making them unstoppable. However unlike in FE8 they do have a extremely hard time maxing stats due to the fact of units are pre-promoted. It follows the FE5 style of pre-promoted units with insane growths but very low starting stats stopping them from being unstoppable.
Music....hard to say....it suits the game very very well but its nowhere near as catchy as the older home console FE's, although I really like the new twist they gave some themes
Weapon customisation...is a major gimmick and complete waste of time, it offers next to no real rewards besides a pink sword >_>
But the bonus exp does make leveling mroe convenient and easier to distribute, menu/item management is much easier now since its gone back to a FE3 style of menus along with the FE7 pre battle menu conveniency.
Graphically its okay, they could've done much better with the actual battle scenes backgrounds do look nice and the FMV sequences are complete eye candy overload.
And finally.....no wonder Ike gets his ass kicked by his dad...he can't even hold a sword...who holds a sword over their head? o_O
Theres probably more I could say but I don't want to ramble on its definitely a good title that does seem quite rough around the edges in some places and polished in others. I think though the main issue is they've left the main game engine in its place and just basically polished it all up. Its good in that aspect but also bad as in theres little to offer after you finish.
If you say supports, then I'll just mention most canon pairings like Ike and his sister have NO supports. Also most charas only get around 2-3 supports.

And I might just be having bad luck in this file, but the english one feels harder than the japanses game to me. o.o

I'm starting to call some of the characters by their english names. x.x
So? I think that it's better off that way. Unless you want to learn Japanese and play the Japanese versions, we should stick with the translations. I for one will try to avoid ever using the Japanese names again, at least while talking in an English forums, with English-speaking fans.
