I kept all my heroes alive, just like you did, Los and TJ. The good thing is once you beat the game, you get to know what happend to all your party afterwards. I wouldn't say "living happily ever after" because some ended up poorly. <_< Sometimes I felt like saying "that wasn't fair!"

The word "Happy", I think, is not something that can be applied to many in the Fire Emblem series. "Content" works, in a few cases... but "happy"? Nah ;)

I was a bit annoyed at Canas' fate, though. Kickass powerful dark magic user... killed in a friggin snowstorm? Bah. ;)

I agree. Canas was one of my favorites (next to Lucius) and it made me groan when they said his life ended in a snowstorm. Perhaps the Japanese version doesn't mention that?

And, even though he's a character that's not important to me at all, that I would never use again.. I restarted.

Whoa, Marcus was my favorite character! How could say he's not important when he served as a very strong knight & Eliwood's defender? He helped me in the final battle and he was what I needed to get through enemy lines. He also evaluates your performance.

Well if Canas didn't die than it'd screw up the story....since Hugh in FE6 ran away after his father and mother died in a snowstorm and uncle went insane form dark magic. He wanted to escape his families heritage.

And Junior...who evaluates your performance is random...it can be anyone....

And Marcus is really awful plain and simple.

And FE games are never as simple as a lived happily ever after its always been like that.

*goes back to playing FEG*

Random? Well, every time I checked to see how I'm doing, it was Marcus who always turned up.

*goes back and checks an old file.....* Yup, it's Marcus again, commenting on my rank. Probably if he dies, I'd get a different person to comment on my performance.

And Marcus is really awful plain and simple.

Well to be honest, in all the chapters that I played, I feel that Marcus and Isadora were the ones who killed the most number of enemies than any other characters. I always kept them in the front lines of battles in almost every chapter to the end. Palladins are one of the units that I consider to be valuable assets for my party.

And FE games are never as simple as a lived happily ever after its always been like that.

.............
Well, not really happily ever after but just an ending with everyone feeling that they could enjoy a peaceful life again until there's another threat coming.

Oh, I'm not complaining. Frankly, I would be dissapointed if they were.

Rubay: Marcus is terrible... He may seem good when you first get him, but he has poor growth, poor stats, and... just isn't good. And his biggest problem is that people rely on him in the early chapters, but, since he's promoted, he hardly gets any experience... whereas other, better characters would get a lot of experience from the same enemies. He's a waste of EXP.

Overusing him too much could very well cripple your game completely.

Exactly wheras early bosses give most characters a levelup it only gives Marcus like 5 exp.

Also I believe the person who rates you is whoever you used the most times in your game, in my case its Karel, in yours its Marcus. But Marcus is worthless in hard mode that much I can say.

Well enjoy this, I made a high quality rip of the FE8 recruitment theme so you people can get a sample of FE8's music.
(Oh and don't get your hopes too high...this is pretty much the best FE8 has to offer...FE8's soundtrack is really bleh)

I've really been enjoying Seima's version of What Comes From Darkness, and the evil-themed thing with the bells.

Other then that... yeah, you're pretty much right ;)

Hm.... maybe I should try using Afa's drops on Eliwood. I wanted him to be the one to evaluate my performance. ;)

I don't remember if I used any item on Marcus but I spent most of the usuable items on Eliwood to upgrade his stats.

Eliwood doesn't seem to give sufficient damage to enemies later in the game and he seems to be taking in lots of damage. Plus, the enemies appear to be targetting him first whenever they can reach him that forced me to keep him out of harm's way. I usually make him attack enemies who are near-death as this gives him lots of EXP to level up.

When I first saw screens for the game I figured that Joshua was a spider mamkute, because of the.... ummm.... spidery hair and the same color scheme as one of the spiders.

IS deserves a good smacking for giving Joshua the same old myrmidon/swordmaster/assassin sprites. He should have his hat, at least.

Well FE8 is a love/hate relationship, I personally find it quite a lazy job....
It looks shiny, but as you play through it you notice of laziness and rehash theres also the matter they made everyone far too strong so theres almost no difference between ppl because they can max everything anyway.
Plus theres the reused sprites....and they screwed up quite a lot of units and made some way too strong. Oh and the major thing that irks me...no more ranks.

Yar, so I finally got around to beating Fire Emblem US. The most pertinent question is: during the character endings, what do the "B," "W," and "L" stand for?
