I'm not arguing with you. I was just wondering if anything contradicted the "Skull Kid made the deal with Sharp" theory that you and I share.

Jacensolo, could you please translate a line from Phantom Hourglass, by one of the Cubus sisters in the Ghost Ship?

In English, she says "The abducted have fallen victim to the Reaplings" but MPS says that the abducted have actually become the Reaplings. It would be good to get this sorted out.

Here it is:

Yay! Thank you. This ship is very dangerous.

Thank you so much! This ship is so very dangerous!

The many abducted people had something unthinkable done to them by the Hell Dead that are below… To say it plainly, they were…

Most of the abducted have fallen victim to the Reaplings in the hold. I must say, they are...

Turned to corpses! Corpses! Corpsesss!

Fallen! Fallen! They are the fallen!

Ah, no… That was nothing.

Oh, excuse me! Never mind that. I don't know what came over me...

Anyways, I’m worried about my older sisters, so please quickly get them out of there. It’s up to you!

I'm so very worried about my sisters. Please hurry and rescue them! I wish you luck!

I was pretty sure some line of dialog claimed that Reaplings were once people, but...

I didn't find anything like that in a quick search through the text dump.

This is a bit unusual of a request but... is that TWW Hylian seen on the side of these blocks in Brawl?
http://www.brawlsnap...6...&tag=Glitch
And if it is, can you translate it Jacen?

Oh btw I have a memory lapse, did we ever find anything of interest in PH's Japanese ending?

That does resemble TWW Hylian, but I don't think it actually is. I could be wrong, though.

As for PH's ending, I don't think Jumbie ever got around to translating it.

I thought he had only done the ghost ship stuff at the beginning and the quick part about Ciela's bunshin. If he's done more, do you know where it is?

Since Jumbie never translated the ending to PH, I did it.

I started after the defeat of Bellum/Linebeck:

Ow-ow-ow… What happened? I was sure I…

Yeesh. Ouch... What's going on here?! I thought...

Are you okay? Linebeck! You were possessed by Bellum!

Are you OK? Linebeck! You were possessed by Bellum!

…! Ah… That’s right. It’s true… For some reason I remember attacking Link…

WHAT?! Oh... That's right. I...uh... think... I remember something about Link...

I’m sorry, Link. Even though that monster took me over, for me to do something like that…

Oh, kid, I mean... Link! I'm sorry! I know I was possessed by that monster... But to think that I...

No, Linebeck! If you hadn’t stood up to Bellum then, I don’t know what would’ve happened to us.

Shush, Linebeck! If you hadn't stood up to Bellum when you did... Who knows what might have happened to us!

No… Well, I’d lost myself in it then…

Well... I guess I got caught up in the moment...

What? It sounds like you’re just saying what you want us to hear!

What?! That's not like you! Are you sure you're Linebeck?

Well, I was just taking revenge for my ship…

My ship just took a little... uh...damage...

…Grandpa…

Grandpa...

Link, Linebeck, and Ciela. Thanks to you, I was able to return to my original form… I thank you.

Link... Linebeck... And Ciela... I have returned to my true form... For that, I thank you.

What, what, hey… Is that you, old man?

WHAT?! WHOA! Old man, is that you?!

So that’s what your true form is!

I never would've guessed you really looked like that!

If not for your actions, I would have been forever sealed and this sea would have fallen into ruin. You have saved both me and this sea.

If not for you, I'd have been sealed up forever. This sea would have fallen into desolation and evil. You saved me and the great sea.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Linebeck.

Linebeck...

M-me?

What? Who? Me?

I have yet to fulfill my promise to you. I will grant you a single wish, no matter what it is.

I have to make good on a promise I made to you. I grant you one wish.

What is it?! Say it plainly. You want the treasure that you love so much, right?! Ask for it!

What is it? Come on! Say it! You want a treasure, don't you? Just ask!

D-dumbass! I have no need for treasure anymore!

No! That's not it at all! I don't need treasures anymore! I think...

W-well, yeah… If I have to… Return my ship that sunk to how it was.

Well, I guess, if I have to... If you insist... Can you bring back my ship? The one that sank?

Eh? You’re fine with that? If later you decide you actually want treasure, I don’t know what’ll happen.

What? That's it? You know, even if you ask for treasure later, that's it!

Shut up, you tiny fairy! I’m not gonna do that! You’ve always got a lot to say!

That's enough from you, Sparkles! You've always got to get the last word, don't you?

The Sand of Time has returned and the sea has once again become calm. Now the Ghost Ship won’t be disturbing even your world’s sea.

The Sand of Hours is returned and peace reigns. The Ghost Ship will no longer haunt your world.

Our world? Then, what is the world we’re in now? Where exactly…

Our world? So what is the world that we are in now? What is this place...

The time for you to return to your original world is nearing…

The time for you to return to your world is near...

Too many quotes. Splitting the post.

This are the only changes of interest that I see... and they don't really help us determine whether the adventure was set in the Ocean King's world or that of Link and co.
Darn.

Though I do think that "even your world" is indication that we saw it terrorize both.

Anyway thanks Jacen, it's good not having to wonder whether the official translation had gotten screwed up or not ^_^

Could you translate Zelda's introduction to Link in the two linked Oracles games? Some friends of mine would like to see what the Japanese wording is in places where the NoA version makes it seem like Zelda hasn't met Link, but still somehow recognizes him.

Hi. I'm from Zelda Universe, a fellow theorist. Really, I would have posted an introduction thread, but it seems that I don't have the ability to make threads.. And to be honest, I pretty much only joined here to hopefully get something translated. I know it's selfish, I'm sorry. But I can try to make up for it.

I was just hoping for someone to translate something from Link's Awakening.

What I am looking for is what Dethl, the last of the Nightmares in the Wind Fish's egg, says. Afterwards Link would climb the stairs where he would meet the Owl and The Wind Fish. Preferably, I'd also like what they say to be translated as well.

Thank you.

Welcome to Legends Alliance ^^

As you can say over Tingle's photo, I am Arturo, one of the mods of Zelda Storyline.

And you couldn't post topics, but now you can, because you need a post to have that ability. It's some sort of basic defense against spambots.

Anyway, welcome to LA, and I hope you stay after you get your translation! ^^

I have to ask, is anyone planning on compiling these translations into a more organised form? It'd be great to have easy access to the real quotes from each game.

Very true. Zelda's quite a unique case, as it is the only series where the translators have effectively tried to rewrite the chronology.

Sorry, I've been busy and haven't been in here for a while.

I'll get to work on those requests.

Edit: I've finished the ending to LA.

I started just before the battle with the Nightmares:

We were born from within nightmares…

We were born of nightmares...

We gave the Wind Fish eternal sleep in order to build order in this closed off world called a dream.

To take over this world, we made the Wind Fish sleep endlessly!

That way this island would never disappear due to him waking. We are gods!

If the Wind Fish doesn't wake up, this island will never disappear! We would have been the masters of this place…

…But you came… Don’t get in our way! Heh heh heh. You can not defeat us! Let’s go!!

But you had to come here and disrupt our plans! Heh heh! You can never defeat us!!! Let's rumble!

After the battle:

. の. し. . . . . . . . . . . . .
It’s going to disappear… It’s going to be destroyed. Out island, our world……Our…island……O…u…r…

This island is going to disappear... Our world is going to disappear... Our world... Our... world...

…Link. Well done. You have overcome the nightmares! Come up.

...Link, you have beaten all the Nightmares! Climb the stairs before you!

Hoot! Hoot! Boy…no, Link-dono! Well done. You have overcome the nightmares!

Hoot! Young lad, I mean... Link, the hero! You have defeated the Nightmares!

That wisdom, power, and courage are actually the signs of a hero!

You have proven your wisdom, courage and power!

I am a part of the Wind Fish’s spirit. My duty was to protect this dream world while the Wind Fish slept.

As part of the Wind Fish's spirit, I am the guardian of his dream world...

…But one day, nightmares sprouted from a tear in the dream and corrupted the island.

But one day, the Nightmares entered the dream and began wreaking havoc.

…Then you, the messenger of awakening, came. I believed that you would not lose to the nightmares. You were strong and possessed courage.

Then you, Link, came to rescue the island... I have always trusted in your courage to turn back the Nightmares.

Hoot! Hoot! Thank you, Link-dono… Now my role is over. I shall return to the Wind Fish. Farewell! Hoot!

Thank you, Link ... My work is done... The Wind Fish will wake soon. Good bye...Hoot!

..I am the Wind Fish……How long has it been since I went to sleep…?

I AM THE WIND FISH...LONG HAS BEEN MY SLUMBER...

…At first…I dreamt of an egg…Before long, an island was formed around the egg, and people and animals were born…A world was born…

IN MY DREAMS... AN EGG APPEARED AND WAS SURROUNDED BY AN ISLAND, WITH PEOPLE, ANIMALS, AN ENTIRE WORLD!

But dreams fade. That is a law of nature. When I wake, Koholint Island will disappear.

BUT, VERILY, IT BE THE NATURE OF DREAMS TO END! WHEN I DOST AWAKEN, KOHOLINT WILL BE GONE...

But the memories of this island reside as reality in your heart.

ONLY THE MEMORY OF THIS DREAM LAND WILL EXIST IN THE WAKING WORLD...

And…one day you will remember this island. Those memories will be of a real dream world, will they not?

SOMEDAY, THOU MAY RECALL THIS ISLAND... THAT MEMORY MUST BE THE REAL DREAM WORLD...

Thank you, Link… The time has come! Let us wake together!!

COME, Link ... LET US AWAKEN… TOGETHER!!

Now! Play the Song of Awakening!

PLAY THE EIGHT INSTRUMENTS! PLAY THE SONG OF AWAKENING!!

Unfortunately, I don't have screenshots for the OoA Master Sword quote, so I can't translate it.

Thank you ever so much, I appreciate it. :)

Hmm, looks like NoA was pretty reliable with their translations on that one...

Fintin O'Brien requested that I translate what the composer brothers tell you in OoT, so here it is:

I am the ghost of one of the composer brothers who lived in Kakariko Village. All of the villagers who lived here were required to serve the Hyrule Royal Family.

I am one of the ghostly composer brothers of Kakariko Village. All the people in this village are born to serve the Royal Family of Hyrule.

My brother and I served by researching the mysterious power that was handed down by the Royal Family.

We brothers also served the Royal Family, and were assigned to study the hereditary mystic powers of the family.

We still haven’t… or rather hadn’t, been able to explain the Triforce’s power, but are, or were, nearly finished with research on manipulating time with the sound of an ocarina…

Though we never could figure out the power of the Triforce, we had almost completed our study of controlling time with the tones of ocarinas.

No! The truth is, we had already completed that research!

Uh, I mean... Actually, we did complete that study!

If that detestable Ganondorf hadn’t tried to seize our research… fame would have been in our grasp.

We would have been famous, if that hateful Ganondorf had not tried to steal our results.

But we couldn’t let the fruits of that research fall into his hands. So, my brother and I bet our lives on protecting that secret.

We could never let him reap the fruits of our research! That's why we gave our lives to protect the secret.

When I look at you, I am somehow reminded of Zelda-sama… If you have a connection with the Royal Family, listen to me for a bit.

Somehow, you remind me of... Princess Zelda... Hmm... Since you may have some connection with the Royal Family, I will tell you a little more of our tale.

People extolled usas great composers who created many pieces of music… But, my brother and I were not mere composers!

Back then, people called us great composers because of the many musical masterpieces we wrote. But we brothers were not just composers.

We were burdened with orders to logically clarify what the mysterious power handed down by the Royal Family was.

We had a mission to analyze the mysterious powers of Hyrule's Royal Family.

When we completed our research, our names would be carved into Hyrule history… or so it should have been.

Our names would be a part of Hyrule's history if we could complete our research!

Until that day, our work was to be “a secret to everyone”.

We kept our study extremely secret until we completed it.

Thanks, jacen! I'm glad the Ganondorf reference survived the official translation. My theory is still as workable. :)
