[Mystic Kitsune]

The DemonKitsune just growled, as he jumped into the portal to see Steel standing there, ready to fight.

He smiled a evil smile, then charged at him, without any feeling, except joy in killing Steel. His attacks where easily blocked, but then he started using fast claw swipes mixed with speed, they may not hurt as much as the other ones, but they go fast enough to make up for it.

Meanwhile, Kitsune was tracing the demon.

"His aura...dissapears here..." He said as he walked out onto the beach. He tried to find his scent, and did. It trailed down the beach, so he did...

[Steel Samurai]

Steel took a claw swipe on his metal gauntlet and swept the half-demon's arm off to the side. He leapt backwards. He couldn't keep blocking those claw swipes with his gauntlets forever, the numerous scratches on his chest bearing witness to the fact. And, for some reason, he was growing tired. The aura coming from his enemy was draining. It was time to turn the tide of this battle around. Steel raised his hand to his face, two fingers pointed upwards. Then, as it seemed to the watching Kitsune, he disappeared.

Shunpo. Flash Step. A technique developed by Laz situations such as this. It involved releasing the brain's limits on the muscles for a microstep, pushing off with the newly released muscles, and then putting the limit back on. Leave it off for too long and the muscles would tear. Not long enough and the necessary impetus would not be gained. It took years to master, first learning how to access the subconscious part of the brain which controlled the muscles, and then learning exactly the right amount of time to leave the control off. Steel had been counted among the best.

He seemed to appear behind Kitsune, bringing his dai-katana out of its sheath down, aiming for the half-demon's shoulder.

[Mystic Kitsune]

"Keh..." said the demon kitsune as the Blade of Illusion ripped out of his right arm, with a lot of blood, but at least it came out of his body.

He caught it at lightning speed and blocked Steel's massive attack with a single block, but there was a lot more recoil then expected. He struggled and could barley hold the blade up, but held it long enough to ward off the attack.

He backed off for a second, and then charged at steel holding the sword at an impaling angle...

The real Kitsune finally came across the portal, and entered it...hoping it would lead him to his clone...

I need to finish him off...once hes gone, so will that damned blade...and my last trial... he thought to himself as he entered the blue glow.

[Steel Samurai]

Steel disappeared again. "You'll have to do better than that demon." he said from behind Kitsune, his blade pressed lightly against its throat. "Why are you doing this?"

[Mystic Kitsune]

Kitsune grabbed the blade with his bare hands, despite the bleeding, and the fact that the sword was jabbed in his hands, and turned around.

"Keh heh. Damn humans, why do you not just kill me, eh?" He said as he then knocked the blade out of the way with his own. He moved in for an impaling move, but Steel only got skimmed due to his reflexes. He then used a claw and sword combination against steel. His stamina just wasnt running out...

Meanwhile, Kitsune was watching from the side lines...but something was wrong. The closer he got to his evil clone, the more energy he would lose...

Its as if Im making him stronger... he said as he held the Kaze-dao harder for protection...

Your trial...Kitsune...endure this, and Im all yours...along with the transformation technique... The blade whispered to him.

Upon hearing this, he had lost consiousness...

[Steel Samurai]

. . . Curses. Steel saw it now that Kitsune had arrived on the scene. the creature he was fighting was not Kitsune but some sort of embodiment of the blade of illusion. And he seemed to be feeding off of both Steel's and Kitsune's energy. Shunpo was exhausting to use for an extended period of time. Steel couldn't risk another failed flash-step attack. It would drain his energy too much. He leapt back again. The Demon seemed invincible. Steel looked closely at its face, and then his eyes opened wide. He had seen those evil red eyes before . . .

*Flashback*
Steel got quietly up and snuck into the room next to his. He bent over the bed in the middle of the dark room.
"Katara . . . wake up."
The beautiful girl in the bed simply rolled over, her long black hair spread on the pillow. Steel leaned over and breathed lightly on her eyelids. It was the signal all Laz agents learned to wake to. Katara's eyes snapped open. Seeing Steel leaning over her, she got out of the bed silently, fully clothed. Together, they snuck out of the inn, heading for the large castle in the center of the town. They both knew their instructions. Steel snuck into the bedroom of the Lord and slew the man, quickly, cleanly, with a short dagger. Katara was supposed to meet him back at the entrance to the castle at a quarter to one. Steel waited silently in the shadows. The clock struck one. It was highly unusual of her to be this late. Screw it Steel thought. He went silently down into the castle dungeon. As he came down the stairs, his heightened night-vision saw Katara lying in a pool of blood on the floor. Steel rushed over to her. She was alive . . . just. He leaned over her. "Katara! Talk to me"
She whispered faintly "Steel . . ."
"What happened?"
"run. It's still here . . . Run Steel. You can't beat it, not now."
It was at this point that a familiar fox-eared figure strode out of the shadows in which he had been hiding, purple marks and red eyes in full evidence. Steel looked at the demon, then back at Katara.
"Run." her eyes said "There's nothing you can do for me."
With tears burning his eyes, Steel ran. Katara had been his only friend in Laz, the only one of those his age who he felt he could trust. He later found that Laz had detected this reliance as a weakness in their young protege, and sent the girl on a suicide mission.

*End flashback*

Steel had repressed the memory, but now it came back in full force. Steel kept his eyes closed. "I remember you now, demon sowrd. It was you who killed her."

"Heh. Bad past memories, Steel? Well then, it was not I who killed her, it was Kitsune. Im just simply the one he used to kill her with. " he said chuckling.

He armed his sword and claws.

"And it is the same way, you shall die, warrior." He said as he got ready for another strike...

Anger rose within Steel, anger such as he had never known. They were taught to ignore such anger in Laz, to suppress it, for it would interfere with the mission. It might have been that it was Kitsune who killed Katara, but he ahd been under the influence of the blade. Steel would ensure that the blade never harmed another again. He would kill the creature. His eyes opened slowly as the rain began to fall from the dark clouds above. An onlooker would ahve gasped. Steel's eyes, normally black, had turned a bluish white. The demonic aura draining his energy was replused by Steel's new aura.

"Let's do this demon."

Steel rushed at the creature, his dai-katana swept back, ready for a slashing strike.

[Mystic Kitsune]

Suprised by the new aura, DemonKitsune was ready for a higher offensive. He just chuckled his evil chuckle and charged to meet Steel's attack head on.

They clashed, blades spinning extremley fast, so fast as to create a shield from the rain water. Only when their blades met in a lock did all the rain fall over them. Their sword swipes were so quick, no rain made it through.

"Keh. Your hatred only makes me stronger, warrior." He said as he turned around and made a lower strike, which was blocked. "Why do you not kill Kitsune? He lies over there..." he said, hoping to distract Steel long enough to get a decent swipe...

It failed. Steel easily blocked the on coming attacks, and they were at it again, with speed blades, that anyone else would only see blurs through the air.

Kitsune was watching the whole battle, through the Demon's eyes. He was unconsious, he felt as though he was battling Steel, and not his demonic clone.

This is your regret, Kitsune...of your past...how do you wish to fix it?... His blade said to him.

Keh...Im sure Steel can beat him...

Kitsune...this is your trial...you must take some part in it...or else you will die along with your sins...

Hearing this Kitsune struggled to wake up, but didnt work to well. He could barley stand, to watch...normally, he would be able to see the blade swipes, but he couldnt...

Damn that power stealing clone... he thought to himself.

... But the blades power is still there...If I could use it... He thought to himself...

He stood, watching the two face off in a duel...

"Steel...I hope you realize Kitsune's heart isnt pure enough to survive, if I die..." he said...

He was right in a way. Kitsune would not be able to survive unless he took some part in the killing of his sins.

Keh... He thought as he raised his blade, looking for where the winds clash...

[Steel Samurai]

Steel locked hilts with the Blade of Illusion. he pushed with all his might, his anger and hatred lending him strength. The demon was steadily driven back, towards the edge of the high grassy meadow they were fighting on. He locked eyes with the demon, codl red agaisnt a burning white.

[Mystic Kitsune]

The demon was being driven back...he couldnt do anything about it. Then he realized there was still one thing to do...

Using his tail, he slipped the warrior, seeing as the ground was wet. As he fell to the ground, Kitsune got his sword ready. He blocked the few hits Steel tried to make.

"Keh. Warrior, those eyes of your were bothering me in our little stare down." He said to him.

He took his sword out and slashed both his eyes, a nasty scene leaving the warrior Steel blind. He then put a large gash across Steel's heart, not to deep, but enough to let him bleed to death.

"Id rather have you suffer. After all, you survived this long. Hehehe..." The DemonKitsune said as he wiped his blade clean, and turned around to walk off, to deal with the obstacle. Motoko.

Kitsune, watching on the sidelines, couldnt take it, he was trying to raise his blade, but the aura from the demon kitsune was to much, and was absorbing most of his stamina...

Dammit! If only there was a way to handle his demonic stamina-reducer... Kitsune thought to himself...

[Steel Samurai]

Darkness. Steel's eyes had always been one of his greatest assets. Now they were gone. He got unsteadily to his feet. He adjusted the bandages wrapped around his torso to soak up the blood from his chest wound. He could sense the demon walking away from him.

"Wait. I'm not through." Steel's voice was hard and cold as the steel upon which he was leaning. The demon turned.

"You can't beat me, human."

His sightless eyes stared at where he knew the demonic figure stood. Steel clenched his teeth and took off his gauntlets. He focused, pointing his open hand towards the demon. Sparks began wrap around his bare, scarred fingers, gradually increasing in intensity. Lightning flashed down from the clouds onto Steel's left arm, wrapping around it and flowing to the palm of his right hand. Steel roared and clenched his right fist. A stream of electricity flowed from Steel's hand towards the demon, striking it directly in the chest,

The demon was caught by suprise, and it was to fast to dodge. He recieved a great blow to his chest, with his wind, not to mention his heart, was knocked out of him. He lay there on the floor, with a twisted smile as he got back up...

"Keh...heh...heh...I told you...you cant beat me...human..." He said as he slowly stood up. With the last of his might, he charged at Steel.

"If Im going to die, Ill take you with me..." He said as he charged.

"KAZE NO KIZU!" He heard, he turned left to see three streaks of light heading toward him.

There was one last gasp...and then darkness.

Kitsune stood there, breathing heavily, but he could feel his stamina coming back as he saw the vile creature incinerate in the blast. He sighed a breath of relief...

Your sins are forgiven. The Blade of Illusion is destroyed...you can now see the true power of the Kaze-dao... It said.

It transformed, into a much wider and longer sword, big enough to make it look heavy, but to Kitsune it was even lighter, because it was his sword now...

This transformation...only happens in the case of protection of a human or yourself...you may now execute the Kaze no Kizu at anytime without demonic wind...it may not do as much damage...but its good enough... It said with a final voice, and then faded away.

"Keh..." Kitsune said undoing the transformation and putting it back in his sheath.

"That damn sword...its finally gone..." He said out loud to himself...remembering how his father wielded that sword...

He went to Steel, who was unconsious after that attack, and took some cloth and wrapped it around his gouged eyes, and carried him back through the portal and set him on the beach.

"Keh...thanks...[img]http://forums.legendsalliance.com/public/ALOT.png[/img]." He said as he ran back in the cave to see how the battle was going on...

(I'm horribly sorry for being gone for so long... but it seems I've paid for my abscence. With both swords out, I could be in trouble...)

"GAH!"

Z screamed upon being hit by the two dragons of light, especially in the eye. His essence was distrupted for a short time, but it was long enough for the other attacks to wreak havoc on him. He slowly went back into his phantasmal state.

"Curse you! Light energy... I can't stand that wretched energy! You'll will pay dearly for this, Gabriel and Kami-Dao..."

His eye glared directly at Motoko, ready to fire another burst of lightning.

(I edited this one. I didn't know Gabriel and Motoko used a light attack, so I fixed it up.)

[Mystic Kitsune]

Kitsune finally ran back in where the light was shining from. The broken door was allowing light in, making the scene, walls, and everything within the cave more visible.

Seeing as the battle continues, Kitsune decided to intervene (again), with his sins forgiven, he got his new transformation mastered. The Kaze-dao could now transform into something much more powerful. He ran right into the glare of Z. He raised the Kaze dao above him...

"Keh! Lets try this out! Are you ready?" He said as he swung the sword with a mighty force, for how big it was, he could wield it pretty easily.

The streaks of light fired out of the sword at the end of the swing, and headed directly for the Dark One's eyes. He didnt look at the outcome though, he turned to see if Motoko was okay. She was fine.

"You should go out and tend to Steel's wounds while I handle him..." He said to her.

[SL the Pyro]

"WHAT!"

Z immediately vanished into the walls, rather than be hit by another light-based attack. He flowed back out when Kitsune landed on the ground.

"When did he take the Kaze-Dao!?" Z thought, bewildered. He then figured it out. "Gah! He must've drawn it out from the pedestal while I was preoccupied with the others! Now both swords are out! I need to end this fast..."

Z growled at the half-demon. His smile was turned to a frown. "So, you want to play rough? As you wish..." he said menacingly. "With so much light energy now able to be drawn out, I dare not risk staying in this form... which is most unfortunate for you..."

Z flew up to the roof of the cave, his eye and mouth vanishing. The fire began to shake violently and changed shape. It began to take the form of a human being, taller than kitsune. The fire stopped eventually, and in it's place was man completely covered in a black cloak. He wore spiked, metal boots and deadly-looking, claw-like gauntlets. His long, silver hair flowed out of his hood, which obscured one of his eyes. He landed on the ground with earth-shattering force, and slowly stood up.

"You'll be sorry that you forced me, Z, into my true form... for it will be the end of you!"

His visible, crimson eye opened behind his cloak. He reached into his cloak and drew the Bake-Dao. Normally he wouldn't use his sword unless absolutely necessary, but the Bake-Dao had enough control over him to make him draw it.

The Bake-dao? So hes possessed? No...if he were possessed, he wouldnt have such a dark appearance...unless hes been like that over a long amount of time...

"Keh. So? Its just a sword. Come on. Come at me. If you can..." Kitsune said in a teasing tone.

(Just in my Shadow Form. My human form is tangible and easier to hit, considering you don't miss...)

"As you wish..." Z said menacingly. He noticed Kitsune deep in though. "Hmm... wondering about the Bake-Dao? Oh course, the blade is controlling me, but only slightly. For example, normally I wouldn't use a sword unless my opponent was beyond infuriating, but the sword forced me to draw it, unfortunately for you. My dark energy can still resist it a little, but it's not like I need to... we have the same agenda, you see. We intend to control the world, and punish those who would dare to get in our way... like you..." Z explained.

Not showing any hesitation and faster than the eye could see, Z charged at Kitsune.

"Keh! Is that what you believe?" he said in a half laughing tone. He held back against the first attack.

"Ive had a dark sword for over 150 years. Ill know complete possession when I see it."

A few more attacks, another fierce sword battle. Kitsune was trying hard to hold the attacks back.

He hit the sword away and went for the hand, but it was easily blocked. He decided to try an underhand to overhand hit, but it was blocked as well.

"Dammit!" Kitsune said now getting frustrated.

Hmph. There should be some move that can hurt him, scratch him...or something... He said while looking around and keeping one hand on the blade.

He decided to back off into the light, he may have to use some underhanded tricks. But hey, hes fighting an underhanded sword.

He was in the doorway where the light was shining through, and still backing off while in a defensive pose...

Z could only laugh at Kitsune's atempt at a trick. "Foolish half-breed, don't you realize that I can strike you from afar? The light won't save you!"

Z took out his Spear Cannon, pre-loaded with six spears. He proceeded to fire three at Kitsune.

"Trick? This is no trick, it is-" he was cut off by the firing of the spear cannon.

"What the hell?" He had never seen one before, he had dodged the first two, but got the third one lodged in his left arm.

"Argh!" He flinched for a second, and got back up.

"Keh. Nice move...I too can get you from afar."

He raised his sword up high as to reflect the sunlight into Z's eyes, It wouldnt have an effect, but he did it anyway.

Then he lowered his blade...

"Kaze no Kizu!" He said as the streaks of light fired toward Z.

Come on Motoko...I need you to combine your attack with mine...

Z screamed as the light shined through his hood, hitting him square in the face, which was revealed; he had the face of a teenage boy with a pale skin complexion. "What is this!?" He yelled, covering his face to prevent some of the light from shining on him. He was unaware of the attack now coming towards him.

"Blast! With most of my dark energy being used to keep the sword at bay, I can't resist the light!" Z screamed in his head.

Both Gabriel and Motoko were completely exhausted. Their link had severed and they both looked like they could pass out at any minute.
"I can't.........go on.......anymore...." Gabriel then placed Motoko's cheek in her palm and concentrated. All but a little bit of her ki was transferred to her daughter. "There....." was all she said before she slipped into unconsciousness........while still standing.
"Otou-sama!!!" Motoko shouted as she caught her. She then stood up and, seeing Kitsune's attack, decided to attack as well. "HIRYUU-SHOTENHA!!!!" The energy dragon shot out of Motoko's body once again, but this time combining with the Kaze no Kizu. Z cried out in pain as the combined attack hit its mark

Z fell to his knees. "Bested... by mere children..." he thought. He spoke mentally to the Bake-Dao. It began to shatter as a result of the combined attack of the Kaze and Kami-Dao. Z snickered and thought to it, "And you call yourself the 'ultimate power'... it was because of you that I'm losing to these children... you deserve your fate..."

The Bake-Dao in his hand shattered... at that moment, Z felt his drained strength returning to him. He got up and stretched, letting the darkness flow through his body once again.

"First the Bake-Dao drains my strength to prevent me from fighting correctly, and then it shatters after one attack... pitiful... as for you two..." Z said, speaking directly to Motoko and Kitsune now. "I suppose you've done me a favor. The Bake-Dao wasn't the ultimate power I seek after all..."

[Mystic Kitsune]

"Keh! First off, Im not a child. Im probably even older than you." He said in his same overconfident teasing tone.

"Youre not still going to attack us are you?" Kitsune said getting the sword back into a defensive pose.

[SL the Pyro]

"Why bother? I've already found out that my new weapon was fairly useless. It wasn't what I've been searching for. I no longer have any reason to eliminate either you or the Kami and Kaze-Dao..." Z said simply. He passed by Motoko, glaring at her before walking idly past.

"But know this..." Z said in a more jaded tone, turning to face Motoko and Kitsune. "Should our paths cross again at the wrong time, I will not hesitate to destroy you both... my power was bound by the Bake-Dao before you destroyed it, so don't think that if we do meet again, the end result will be the same... and for the record, my body was controlled by the Bake-Dao, not my mind..."

And with that, Z turned back around, reverted into his Shadow Form, and left in the same fashion that he'd entered.

"Nooo.......!" Motoko yelled out, tears streaming down her face. "No more fighting!!!"

"Keh. Good riddance. Dark bastard." Kitsune un-did his sword's transformation, and went to Motoko.

"Hey. Calm down, the fightings over." He said to her in a soothing tone. "I need you to do a favor for me though, follow me." He said motioning toward the broken door...

[Gabe Puratekuta]

"Hmm??" Motoko followed Kitsune, a confused look on her face, through the door. She was not expecting what she saw there. "Are!?!?!"
