As Kitsune held her, Motoko blushed a little and smiled. Warm....... I feel so safe....

End of the tunnel...Huh?

They came across a sign...well, it could be a sign, he could smell wood and ink...

He reached out and touched it, feeling to see if there was an arrow of any sort. There was. Pointing left...

"This way...the smell is stronger..." He said to them...

They came out into a large room, with a faint light from the middle...

Is that...? He said as he saw a slight shine...

...please be the Kaze-dao... He said as he got closer, weary of the giant hole in the wall, as if a giant cave, on the other side of the wall...

[SL the Pyro]

No one now in the cave was aware of Z's presence. He had been spying on Motoko, Gabriel, Kitsune and their friends ever since they boarded Button's ship. He was possessing the pirate in the crows nest, and no one gave him any notice. But the time for hiding was over. He would now make his presence known...

He flowed along the walls of the cavern as a shadow until finally catching up to the others. The area around them darkened even more upon his presence, drowning out the light from down the tunnel.

"So, you seek the Kaze-Dao..." his sinister, demonic voice echoed, seemingly coming from all directions. Everyone stopped and looked around. "You have entered the cave looking for the mythical blade, but all that you will achieve in this cavern is an early grave..."

He began to emerge from the roof of the cave, appearing as a big, black fireball. A moment the fireball detached from the roof, a bright yellow mouth appeared on it, followed by a bright yellow eye with a black, cat-like iris. He was at least two times as tall as the others. Worse yet, he was blocking Kitsune's path to what he thought to be the Kaze-Dao

"Who ar--" Gabriel's question was cut off by the darkness she sensed from the fireball. 'Y-You've got the Bake-Dao....!!!"

Z let out a sinister cackle, his single eye glaring at Motoko now. "Right you are, Gabriel..." Z replied. "Although I could wonder how you know I have the sword of hell, it would only waste my time and yours." His fiery form began to shake violently. "Not that any of you have that long..."

Z's eye began to widen, and it glowed purple. He was about to attack!

Gabriel reached for her katana..........but remembered that she lent it to Kitsune. So she removed her hammer from it's perch on her back and started spinning it around, which is what she wanted to do with her blade. "Stay behind me!" she shouted at the others. A violet shield formed a few centimeters on front of her

"Well, this should be amusing to say the least... perhaps this won't be such a dull confrontation after all..."

The energy in Z's eye burst out in the form of lightning, made of pure darkness. The lightning was fairly weak, however, and was refracted by Motoko's sheild. It flew into the roof above, bringing some rocks down.

"Keh! So youre all big, dark, and angry." Kitsune dashed around the giant, at high speed."

He was interrupted though...by his sword.

Kitsune...draw me. That sword there is my rival, and only I will be able to hurt him. Use my power of Illusion...that you used much before you came to even the woods...and then, use the corruption...

"Damn you! You bastard! Youre still talking?!" He said as he was talking to his sword.

He was hit by an oncoming attack, he flew backward, but regained his footing.

Keh...looks like Ive got no choice... He said as he drew the accursed blade of illusion...

In the meantime, he threw the katana Gabriel had given him back to her...

"The blade of illusion... well, isn't this a coincidence... fine, sword. If you want blood, then allow me to assist you!"

Z let loose several strands of fire from his body; Kitsune was stopped in his tracks. The giant fireball then engulfed him and began seeping into his body (possession).

Lucky for Kitsune, the blade had produced his image in the nick of time, to be on fire that is.

"Dammit!" he yelled as his arm was absorbing the fire into his body.

This sword...actually attempted to save me? Kitsune thought as he began swiping at the creature...

"Ack!" He said as his left arm began failing him...

(I'll do that. But the battle thing concerns me, too... what are we gonna do? I have to go very soon...)

Z's sinister laugh filled the air again. "I have to give you two credit for trying... but nothing and no one have been able to resist my powers. You're body is now my own..."

Z slowly began taking control of more of Kitsune's body, starting with the arms, and then the legs. He stopped at his head for some reason.

"This should be amusing, hearing you scream with frustration and horror as I force you to murder every last one of your friends!" Z said into Kitsune's mind.

"Yes. It's the only way to save Kitsune." The two teenagers then clasped their hands together anc cocentrated their ki into each other once again

Z's attention shifted to Motoko and Gabriel. "They're building up quite a bit of ki..." he thought to himself. "I suppose I'll deal with them first. The sooner the Kami-Dao is dealt with, the sooner I can be done with these fools..."

Z forced Kitsune to ready his sword against the approaching Gabriel and Motoko...

"The hell?" Kitsune said trying to fight back the possession...but it was to late, his body was moving to attack his friends, without him able to do anything about it.

Kitsune...use me...you know you can...all the blood of the people you killed are still within me...you know what to do...

With not much time left for him, Kitsune agreed, he fought back all the pain in moving his arm, just for one stab.

He stabbed himself across the heart, and fell down to the ground...

Hehehe...this blade shall rise again... Said the blade of illusion.

Suddenly a much stronger demonic aura had formed around Kitsune, with his purple marks back, glowing red eyes, and large fangs.

"Keh...heh heh..." He said as he turned back to face the dark one.

Kitsune charged toward him, getting ready to unleash his massive 18 hit 5 claw combo...

"Kitsune, stop!!!" Gabriel and Motoko shouted in unison. Then they rushed at Z and, in perfect synch with each other, readied an attack 'KASHU TENSHIN AMAGURIKEN!!!!!" Their arms and fists were too fast to see as they hit the fireball thousands of times before stopping. Then, they leaped into the air and heel dropped their foe

As the dark one was heel dropped, he missed due to the attack. He landed on the other side, ready to attack again.

What the hell...how come I can think again?... Despite his apperance, he was regaining some of himself.

He turned to the right...there, on a pedestal, stood the old Kaze-dao...

He turned back to his foe, getting ready to attack him, but, something was drawing him to the sword...he began staggering toward it.

Afraid he may be burned due to his strong aura, he could touch it...he grasped it...and there was nothing burning him.

Kitsune?! What are you doing?! Youre not supposed to be- Silence. The Blade of Illusion's voice had dissapeared as a light aura took his hand.

Use it...I was meant to draw it? Kitsune thought to himself as the battle raged on...

They then leaped back into the air "HIRYUU-SHOTENHA!!!!" Two dragons composed of pure light and energy shot from their bodies, then merged into one. The now-bigger dragon attack hit Z square in the eye

The blade...its calling out to me... He said as his demonic aura was dying down to that of a half demon once again.

He tried removing it, but it was no use...

What could be the reason?... He said while looking around...he first looked at his blade, which was eerily silent now...

Then, he saw Gabriel and Motoko, fighting...

I see... He said as he looked over at Gabriel and Motoko, who looked almost exhausted from their use of Ki...

"Im coming Motoko!" he said while forgetting to pull his hand off the sword.

Instantly, after saying that, the blade slipped out, with ease. The golden blade began glowing, and was guiding him.

"Keh...this is what Im talking about-" he was stopped in Mid-Sentence as he collapsed...

It was darkness for him now...he couldnt see anything, but still hear the battle raging onward...

"Why have you drawn me, young hanyou?"

"...For protection of a human...a woman..." He said ignoring the hanyou statement for now.

"Is this truly what you wish?"

"Ye...yes." He said to the blade...

"This is not...tempoary?" Said the blade to him...

"No...why would it be? I have to hurry and save-"

"You must pass trials...in your thoughts, to master at least the basic techniques of the blade..." It said to him

"Trials?! Theres no time! I have to hurry and save the girl!" he said trying to struggle to get up.

"Kitsune...youre dead right now...or you appear to be for your comrades..."

"What?! What if someone were to take you then?!"

"Relax...theres a barrier around you and me now...you just have to trust your friends are strong enough to handle themselves..."

"Keh...what exactly are the trials..."

"The first. You must master to see demonic aura...the second, you must have your heart devoted to a human...and final, the third, you need to destroy any source of corruption..."

"Thats it? Then I have everything worked-"

"No...you do not. That blade you hold, the Blade of Illusion...it was forged by your twisted ancestors, was it? That is one source of trouble for both the first and third trial.."

"And the second...?"

"Shes there. Fighting. Although you never openly admit it, you need to protect her, she is, after all, my twin..."

"But-"

"She may have taken your heart, keep in mind though, she is a blade...or made from one at least..."

"Keh! Whoever said she took my heart? I just care for her, thats all!"

As soon as he said that, he was awakened, with the battle still going on.

"The Kaze-dao is now yours. I will only speak when needed..." The voice faded away afterward.

He looked at the golden Katana as he held it in his hands, with the sheath lying next to the pedestal.

He looked back toward Gabriel and Motoko, and readied for a strike.

"...see the demonic aura..." he said to himself, he closed his eyes to search for a unique presence, which he felt...coming from inside and around the creature.

"...and cut through the center of it to produce a devastating Kaze-no-Kizu" Kitsune said silently out loud as if the sword was conveying it's message through him...

He was looking for that spot, as Gabriel and Motoko continued the fight...

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

(OOC: Holy crap you guys went fast!)

Ken had stopped a little bit to look at something that caught his eye. It appeared to be a map of some sort, a slightly warped version of the Lalvican sea and its shores. It was carved into the walls.

Ken looked it over, seeing the islands and landforms but noting a few added things on the map. On the mainland encircling the sea, there were three spots at apposing sides. Each projected a line towards a single point in the sea, a dot labeled with old runes. Ken walked up to map, squinting his eyes at these strange additions.

The boy then heard the sounds of battle, and ran quickly to catch up with the others. He was met with the sight of Gabriel and Motoko fighting, and Kitsune...

^Is that... the Kaze-dao?^ Ken wondered as he stared at the golden blade.

Germanlink had also stopped along with Ken to look at the map. As soon as he saw Ken run off, Germanlink immediately followed. He stopped in his tracks seeing Motoko and Gabriel fighting a sort of dark creature.

Germanlink noticed Motoko and Gabriel were exhausted. "You two stop for now, let me handle this. Germanlink then stepped closer to the enemy. "Well, you certainly have guts...Thinking you can take all of us here." Germanlink looked behind him and saw Ken, "Lets get this fool Ken, it shouldn't be TOO hard."

A strong wind could be felt coming off Germanlink's surrounding area. Germanlink then put his hand on the ground, and right under Z, a hole opened up, the hole grew larger as wind started to blow out from it, then all of the sudden, a tornado itself started to engulf Z.

There it was. A flash of white where the demonic winds were clashing, if he could slice through that...

"Huh?" The demonic winds needed for the Kaze no Kizu to occur were swept away as Germanlink produced strong winds...

"Dammit..." Kitsune said awkwardly putting the golden blade down...

Keh...well maybe Ill wait until Germanlink executes his attack...that way we can have a combined attack...

He raised the sword over his head, waiting for his chance to strike.

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

Ken saw Germanlink attack, and then Kitsune lower his sword. Thinking quickly, he realized what Kitsune was trying to do.

"That's it, we have to time our attacks..." he muttered to himself.

Shifting his stance, Ken charged at Z, cleaving his sword at the target. Unfortunately, Z managed to avoid the blade, and Ken fell at the opposite side.

Damn, what do I do? Ken thought to himself

^Do you have the will to use the spirit sword's techniques?^ the silver wolf's voice boomed in his mind.

Raiyu... What do you mean, Silver Wolf?

^What is your power, young one?^

The will to use the spirit sword... The technique I learned at the Forest Temple...

^What is your power, young one?^

"My power..." Ken uttered aloud.

Something clicked in his mind. He held up his sword and used the technique he was taught in the temple.

"My spirit... That is my power!!!" the boy shouted.

Ken channelled all but a little of his spirit into the sword, causing the once ordinairy metal to glow with a teal colored aura. He hefted the sword in one hand--the sword felt as though it were as light as a dagger now. The boy charged forward again, stabing the sword into the ground and vaulting himself into the air. He made another large cleave, bringing it down on Z. His opponent did not move in time, but Ken was being held back from hitting. Electricity sparked, and Ken remained almost suspended in the air.

"Kitsune! Now!" the boy shouted.

Through out the empowering winds of Germanlink's spell, and that of the dark influence, the aura of Ken's spirit leaked into the currents--highlighting the dark influence against his.

He swung, in the direction of where the light and dark were colliding. It wasnt demonic wind, but it would still work.

There was a huge glow as five streaks of light were fired out from the sword, they were of yellowish-white color, and heading right toward the opponent.

If Motoko could work some sort of attack with that...then it would at least injure him to a point where he would have to retreat...

[Ransom]

Perseus was perched on the top of one of the towers at the forsaken fortress, trying to conceal himself until his comrades emerged from the cave.
He knew he would be of no use in a cave, he was used to wide open spaces, and he often got quite claustrophobic indoors.

He watched the entrance of the cave distractedly, half concentrating, half not.
Suddenly he perked up as he thought he saw movement near the entrance of the cave.
It looked almost like the shape of people but as if they were invisible, blending in with the environment around them. He only knew of one group that had that kind of technology.

Laz ninja’s? What are they doing here?

He glided down stealthily to a lower tier, trying to get a closer look. Yes, there was definitely some men there, though they were heavily camouflaged, almost as if they’re garb was made up of some sort of chameleon linen. They were slowly sneaking towards the cave, around 5 of them, all the exact texture and colour of the rocks behind them..
When they reached the cave they quickly stole inside, no doubt abandoning their cover and running towards Perseus’ comrades.

I have to warn them somehow. I’m sure they could easily defeat such combatants in battle, but these guys are much more skilled then normal ninja’s. If they are not warned, weaker members of the party could be killed before anyone has a chance to retaliate.

Perseus started to devise a plan.

Lets see… if I try to fly over them they will easily take me out before I could get past them in that narrow space… and if I try to backstab them they will easily detect my presence.

Suddenly Perseus had an idea. He swiftly alighted, and started to scan the fortress looking for a Marksman sentinel.

Perseus flew towards the side of the fortress, peaking in one of the windows. He was satisfied to see racks and racks of weapons lining the walls.

Ah, the armoury.

He quickly scanned the room, checking for life, and finding none, climbed in, looking for wear the bows were kept.
He found that one of the walls was entirely devoted to Bows and crossbows, and there was even a large arrow supply nearby.
Perseus donned a quiver and filled It with green and blue fletched arrows, before grabbing a large longbow that stood at the end of the wall.
He noticed many carvings and runes on the bow, unlike the others he had encountered

This one must be special. He thought.

Perseus checked that no one was looking his way before flying down straight in front of the cave entrance, pulling out the note he had scribbled just prior.

Perseus swiftly stuck on the end of his arrow, and then drawing it and holding it out, he chanted a spell that an old priest had taught him, long ago in the mountains.

“Hlalthor Hrendi! Seek Kitsune!”

Thhhffftt! He let the arrow go, watching it soar into the cave, knowing that if there was any turns or passageways it would turn the direction that Kitsune was in. Because he knew the others little, he knew he could trust that Kitsune, in whatever situation, would never let a normal arrow pierce him easily.

heh… that half-demon will probably catch it in his bare hands.

Perseus flew off, blending in with the sky once again.

While he was regaining some stamina, his reflex caused him to catch an arrow that came out of the darkness.

"Keh...Ive had bad experiences with these..." He said out loud in between breaths. He remembered being hunted by enemy archers a while ago, where one had pierced his heart and put him in a half-death sleep for about 25 years. Ever since then, he learned to look out for them, especially if they have a magic aura.

He was about to toss the arrow away, when he noticed the message.

"Hnn?" He said while taking the message off the arrow. He read it to himself...

Warning, Ninjas in cave,
Going to ambush you
Beware, they are very skilled

"Keh! All the more fun to play around with my new toy." He said looking over at his brand new Kaze-dao.

"...then again, harming me probably isnt their biggest concern..." He said looking over at a few of his friends.

"When the time comes...I will protect you...all of you." He said while getting back up on his feet for another offensive...

Meanwhile, where the Kaze dao used to be, there lay the Blade of Illusion, still alive, but with no one to hear it.

"Heh...just a little longer...and you'll face the sins of your past...Kitsune..." the blade said in a menacing tone...

[Steel Samurai]

Steel had been standing in the darkness of the large cavern the entire time. The party didn't need his help. Yet. Their strategy appeared to be working, so far, the demonic black ball was gradually being backed into the corner. Unless something substantial changed, the demon would be lying in its own black blood within minutes. The blade of illusion vibrated slightly, a low voice seemed to be coming from its hilt. Steel considered taking the blade to Dark juno for a moment, then decided against it. A demonic illusory blade could be useful. But, there was no telling what kind of an effect it could have on a normal human. If the half-demon struggled to hold the blade's corrupting power in check, it could be that if a normal human were to touch it, the blade would take over its body completely. Could be. Steel had not much expertise in the subject of demon blades. There were few of them left in the world, and the blad of illusion was the first Steel had encountered. His own 4.5 ft Dai-katana was, of course, enchanted, but an simple enchantment was much different from a blade with a consciousness of its own. Ah well. He'd best return to the main fortress and start making his preparations.

[Mystic Kitsune]

Since everyone's attention was drawn away from the Blade of Illusion, it started bleeding. Releasing all the blood that was collected through Kitsune's quest for killing over a century ago. The blood all gathered up, to form a physical body.

It had long hair, fox ears, a fox tail, and clothes simillar to Kitsune. But, these clothes were all black...and there, on it's face, were the glowing red eyes, and purple marks. The blade had dissipated, into this being. Which was a physical duplicate of Kitsune.

It was ready to kill it's primary target, which was Motoko, the Blade's only obstacle...but it noticed something else. It noticed the shadow of someone standing and just watching.

"Not fighting? Ill make you fight..." It said, as it dashed at a very high speed toward him, prepping it's claws against him...

Meanwhile, for Kitsune, he was seeing strange things...he could see who he was fighting, but, at the same time, he could see from the duplicate's point of eyes...

He was confused now...trying to find out where he was or what he was doing...he stood perfectly still, and when he closed his eyes, he could see what the being the Blade of Illusion made was doing...

"Dammit...that damn blade!" He said, while closing his eyes to see what was going on...

[Steel Samurai]

Steel sensed the oncoming attacker before he saw it. Without a moment's hesitation, he whirled, drawing his short, straight Laz Ninja sword, and used the hilt to hit his claws, throwing the attack off.

"Half Demon. Kitsune. What are you doing? Your enemy is back there." Steel said, motioning back towards the cavern where the rest of teh group were fighting.

[Mystic Kitsune]

He just laughed a deviant laugh, "Half demon?" He said while his force was pushing against Steel.

Without a moment's hesitation, he pulled his right arm back, ready for a punch, and thrust it at such a high speed, it shattered the Laz Ninja sword, with the punch still going, smashed Steel right in the chest, and out through a wooden door that led to the outside.

Kitsune saw this in his mind..."There was a door there?!" He said turning around to look with his own eyes. This was way to confusing for him, but closing his eyes to see through the duplicate's eyes, and using his sense of smell and hearing to find them, he attempted to pursuit the clone.

"It may take me awhile..." he said as he felt sick after his senses were all confused because he was looking through someone elses eyes.

He yelled, "Keep fighting! I need to handle something else..." as he walked trying to trace the raging clone's path.

The Demon-Kitsune had smashed his opponent through the door, but unsatisfyed that the mighty warrior had survived, he jumped outside, instantly coming down with a claw attack...

[Steel Samurai]

Steel rolled to one side, barely dodging the claws aimed at him. Kitsune seemed . . . different. Almost as if all of the goodness and kindness had been removed from him, leaving only cruelty and an insatiable bloodlust that Steel could feel. The beach he lay on was deserted, but the sand would provide poor footing for steel, while the half-demon's claws and wide feet would have a much better grip. Steel got up and ran. He would fight, but on his own terms, and on the battleground of his choosing. There. Kitsune was just behind him. A blue, glowing light rose from a patch on the ground. Steel leapt into it, and felt his body dissipate and come together again. He dropped onto the grass lightly. Here is where he would make his stand.
