[Gabe Puratekuta]

[Not much of a start, but meh, it works]



Deep in the center of the port city of Resden, there lies a very shady tavern. A tavern where most secrets can be shared.......for a price. A group of young warriors, and an unconscious maiden, entered this tavern and sat down in the nearest available table. An old food wench approached the group.
"Can I get you anything?"
One of the group, a young woman with silver hair wrapped around her neck and a face half hidden by the hood of a burnoose, spoke up first. "Have you any ale?"
"Surprisingly, we do. There not be much business in this part of the city."
"Aye. Not a good place for a business, this be." She then pulled down her hood, revealing cat-like ears and kind, silver eyes

[Continuing from "Lost in the Woods"]

Kitsune, not hiding any features, just sat around, just hearing random conversations from around the tavern.

"Keh! Whats with this place? Everyone here seems to be talking about random things that dont exist!"

"These people are crazy! Kami-Dao here, Kaze-Dao there! All lies!" Obviously all the conversations were to much for Kitsune's highly sensetive fox ears.

He just kept tapping the table with his clawlike-nails trying to avoid the talking in the tavern...

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

Ken sat down, positioning his over-sized sword in a manner that no one would hit the bare metal that was not contained in the sheath.

"I'll have some rolls." Ken said to the wench.

The group was quite an interesting bunch, boasting some traits that begged to be starred at. Ken didn't mind though--it was kind of fun to be traveling with these others around him.

"You act as if they're just doing it to annoy you." There was a hint of amusement in her voice. "Especially when you already know where the *real* Kami-Dao is." She then winked at him

"Keh! Annoyed! Of course im annoyed! This damn tavern! I have to yell for you to hear me!" Kitsune yelled.

He noticed the tavern was looking at him just silently now.

He just awkwardly looked around.

After sitting back down, the conversations had changed. Apparently, now he heard the words, "Crazy"..."Strange"..."Half Demon"

His ears twitched at the word "Half Demon"

"That bastard!" He said when he was about to get up and start some trouble, but then realized how his own companions were staring at him.

"Keh! You people dont have sharp senses...or youd be the same..." He said to his friends.

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

"Just calm down, Kitsune. Try to think about something something else, as hard as it is." Ken spoke, trying to calm the other down.

The boy looked around the bar, spotting the various figures drinking, gossiping and all the like.

"Try thinking about things that make you happy."

[Gabe Puratekuta]

[You can see the speech text okay, right?]


"We're all sharp in one way or another. That's what makes us unique." She then turned back to the wench. "may we have lodging for the night? We are wary and in need of rest."
"Aye, you may. But that demon friend of yours has to sleep outside." she said, pointing at Kitsune.
The woman stood, partly to thank the kind woman and partly to stop Kitsune from doing something stupid.
"Thank you, Miss. We shall retire once everyone leaves."

[Mystic Kitsune]

"Okay okay, I get it Ken..." Kitsune said looking agitated.

"...your demon friend has to sleep outside." Kitsune picked up on his ears...

That woman got lucky Gabriel stopped Kitsune's fist from smashing her skull.

"Keh! The nerve of these people! Oh well, its not like I sleep anyways!" Kitsune sat down.

Its been a few weeks ever since they departed from the woods, and Kitsune felt a bit uneasy about his surroundings. He hasnt been around so many people before.

*sigh* "So, you were going to explain your story? For all these weeks, you did a good job of going off-topic."

[Billy Goat]

Germanlink had just came out of the bathroom, and walked towards his companions, very cheery. "That place was...pretty filthy if I do say so myself." he said in a joking manner as he looked at the wench. "So, what are our plans for tonight? This city sure is different from where I used to live."

It had been a while since Germanlink had been traveling with his new companions, and he couldn't be happier, he was a lot more carefree these past few weeks, of course though...he would still have memories of finding his brother and how his old life used to be though.

Germanlink started to sit down, taking the Blade of Illusion, Kitsune's old blade and setting it upright on the floor. "Excuse me miss, but do you know where I could possibly find a mail station or post station around this city?"

"I know of a place around here, I'll write it down for you" said the wench as she wrote down the name of a place and some directions to it. "It's most likely closed by now, so you'll have to go some other time, I'm sure you can go there tommorrow."

Germanlink yawned and looked at his companions, "So...do we have enough money for a big feast tonight?"

"Why the hell do you want to know where a post station is? Its not like we're mailing anyone..." Kitsune said to Germanlink who finally spoke and looked more enthusiastic then he did on the journey...

Kitsune then realized something..."Ken, that sword of yours, can you wield it now? Like without trouble? Or are you still having problems with it?"

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

Ken glanced over his shoulder at the large blade.

"I've recovered fully. There should be no problem using it."

Ken then turned to Germanlink.

"I would not spend too much if I were you. If you have some extra, its good to have some coin on hand."

Ken pulled out a small leather pouch, untied the string that cinched it shut, turned it upside down, and shook it. Only a few coins dropped out.

"I barely have enough anyway."

The tavern started to quiet down a bit, so Kitsune could actually concentrate and speak without losing his temper.

"So. Who gets the Kaze-Dao anyway?" Kitsune said hoping it would be a weapon fit for a half demon like him.

"I mean, the person needs to be part human defending a human, right? And my other sword is possessed?..."

Comming from the rain outside and into the tavern was Lena, curiously looking at everyone and then around them, bringing the hood of her cloak down. The wench rushed over to her taking the partly soaked cloak from her.

"Anything else I can get you, miss?"

"I'm fine at the moment, thankyou," She said quietly. "Maybe a glass of water for now."

She went and sat by one of the bar stools further down the room. She felt quite different energies and auras in this room. One was demon...the other, was it a human or an inanimate object?

"That is for the blade to choose. So, we should find out when we find it." That aura..... It seems somehow familiar.... Gabriel looked around and finally saw who the aura belongs to. "Lena....?"

"Keh! Obviously the blade will choose me as the leader!" Kitsune decided he was being silly. He just sat down and kept thinking.

He ignored the new person who had come into the bar. Then he noticed Gabriel looking over at her.

"What? Its just another person who came to this sorry bar."

[Gabe Puratekuta]

"No, there's something familiar about her aura. I think I've seen her before. In my village." Gabriel stood up and walked toward her. "Um, excuse me. Are you Selena?" She wasn't sure if it was or not, but she had to know if it was the same woman from her past

[Mystic Kitsune]

"Keh, once again she gets away with distracting me from asking her about her past. Dammit." Kitsune mumbled.

He randomly pounded the table out of boredom...

[Gabe Puratekuta]

Motoko mumbled something in her sleep. "Father....."

[Mystic Kitsune]

Noticing Motoko's little mumble, he suddenly calmed down.

"Keh. Theres something about this little girl's voice that makes me feel calm again."

[Gabe Puratekuta]

[You do know that she has the body of a 17 year old, right?]

[Mystic Kitsune]

[Well, he is 250 years old. So hed consider her young Man, I should clarify more for you, shouldnt I?]

Yelling to Gabriel, Kitsune was getting impatient:

"Hoi! When are we leaving this dump anyway?!"

[Gabe Puratekuta]

[Yep XD]

"(Jeez.....) Tomorrow, at first light!! But we need to plan our path first!" She was getting annoyed with Kitsune's impatience

[Mystic Kitsune]

"Dammit! This damn bar-" Before he could finish, four well built men finally decided to shut Kitsune up by tossing him out.

Now outside, Kitsune got up and brushed the dust off his clothing.

"...I guess Ill just wait out here." Kitsune just stood there, staring at the tavern. Probably for the rest of the night.

"I shouldve fought back..." Pondered Kitsune.

"Selena?" She asked blankly, taking a sip from the glass of water.

"I'm sorry but I do not know of a Selena. My name is Lena though. I need a place to stay until the storm clears up outside. I'm trying to find the closest village to where I can perform my duties."

[Billy Goat]

The wench was bringing over an incredibly big amount of food at the group's table. "Hey, thanks for the extra cash Ken...you han have the turkey legs if you want." Germanlink was starting cut cut up the Turkey brought over by the wench and started putting some pieces in separate plates. He then garbbed aplate with some noodles and put a large piece of meat on it. "Be right back, Ken. I'm gonna take this outside to Kitsune."

Germanlink walked outside with the plate and looked at the shoe store right in front of the Tavern, he saw Kitsune sitting on a barrel with an annoyed look. He walked over to him and handed him the plate. "Here you go".

He then stood there silently and said,"So Kitsune, you want me to sneak you back in tonight?"

"Keh! Sneak in? Im happy Im out!" Kitsune said with a fake happy face.

He really wasnt. He liked being around his companions. But hes to stubborn to show any weakness.

"Ill be alright. In fact, Ill come back in to beat up those four guys! The nerve of them, tossing me out!" Kitsune said while rolling up his sleeve.

As soon as he got off the barrell, Germanlink just sighed and did a knock out hit on Kitsune and just walked back in shaking his head while Kitsune "slept" outside...

"Selena?" She asked blankly, taking a sip from the glass of water.

"My mistake." Gabriel sighed. "You looked........kind of like her. Oh well, I am Ichiro Gabriel."

When Kitsune awoke, it was still dark outside. Kitsune silently came back in the bar and just stood behind Gabriel, and for once, patiently waited until she finished talking.

He just sat on the floor and ignored all the wierd looks heading his way.

I wont cause trouble...I wont cause trouble...I wont cause trouble...

Finally decided to stay calm, eh? Gabriel thought, sensing Kitsune behind her. There's hope for you yet. "Miss Lena, perhaps you would like to join us?"

[Mystic Kitsune]

"Keh!-" Before he continued, he decided not to make a come back. He couldnt be bothered, and he would probably end up tossed out again. Story of his life.

"Perhaps she would be intrested if you told her what we're looking for." Kitsune mumbled...

*sigh* More people...I wonder how the blade will respond to this...
