13 just had an idea!

A few months before Diamond/Pearl, Nintendo should release a not-rushed GBA version of Yellow, which ties more close to the anime! For example:
-You meet Brock's little brother after you battle Brock and later on in the game you can find their long-lost mother and if you go back to the gym you can see she's been reunited. Awww. ^_^
-Instead of Bill turning into a Pokemon, you could help him look for a Dragonite.
-You meet Misty's three sisters.
-Misty and Brock become close friends with you.
-Tauros are really common in the Safari Zone.
-After you beat Erica a first time (she'd only use some of her Pokemon), a fire starts in the gym and you have to somehow help put it out. Then you resume the battle and fight the rest of her remaining Pokemon.
-You meet the extinct Pokemon in a cave on Cinnabar Island and earn a Togepi egg after defeated or capturing the one Areodactyl in the game, also in the cave.
-The legendary birds are nowhere to be found in their respective places... hmm...
-After beating the Elite Four and your rival, you watch a cutscne of your character losing and you don't win the Indigo League.
-Surprise! There are no Seven Islands, but Prof. Oak wants you to pick up the GS Ball from Prof. Ivy on the Orange Islands after you lose the Indigo League.
-You do just that. Prof. Ivy tells you about the Orange League and you begin to particpate in it. You meet Tracey on the first island, and he becomes a recurring character that you battle whenever you see him.
-You find a mix of Kanto and Johto Pokemon on the islands. You can earn the four Orange Island badges and win the Orange League. Yay!
-About halfway through the Orange Islands, you hear of a mysterious storm that may flood the Earth! You have to get the three stones and put them on Fire, Ice, and Thunder Island where the legendary birds are hanging out. After you do that, the legendary birds go back to their homes in Kanto and you encoutner (and can catch) Lugia.
-Oh, and Jeese and James are recurring characters that you have to battle, too.

Now how would Nintendo do all of that? Hmm, I'll just keep dreaming.

I remember those bits of the anime. Um... the only thing I'll say is I always fanwanked since seeing this map of Johto/Kanto that Sevii Islands + other islands = Orange Islands.

I know Yellow is the anime in game form for the confused tweens who didn't understand pokemon at first... but still...

Zythe... I wasn't being serious.

Pokemon is all about catching and raising groups and teams of monsters. You'd doing it for the battle system, sure, but that's still the fun part. The battle system is just kinda there, an excuse to add stuff to the real point of the game.

Amen. That's the fun of Pokemon. I feel like the parent of some of mine. (Don't you dare mess with my Typhlosion!) It's also fun to see your Pokemon evolve, like they're growing up. I find it hard PWNing with some of mine without saying "that's my boy." XD

I don't understand the point of net battle, myself. All it is is battling, right? That's the worst part of Pokemon.

Pokemon is all about catching and raising groups and teams of monsters. You'd doing it for the battle system, sure, but that's still the fun part. The battle system is just kinda there, an excuse to add stuff to the real point of the game.

And net battle lacks that part. So what's the point?

Because it actually has a pretty deep and quite strategic element to the competitive side of battling?

Heck the actual Pokemon game is a really poor excuse for a adventure or rpg in all honesty.....weak puzzles, not many memorable people, below average graphics and stupidly awfully weak enemies. Its called gameplay....

That and wheres the whole fun of Pokemon if you can't use your hard trained critters to beat the crap out of others hard trained critters? Thats the whole point...in fact theres nothing like pwning people with your well thought out and constructed movesets and teams. But the simple fact is outside of the mass of public who disown the series and tournaments which only come like once a year, theres virtually no competition.....

Thankfully Diamond and Pearl will change that with the DS online service....gives me a reason to actually get back into raising Pokemon properly in the game.

The best thing about Pokemon games is they actually promote socializing since the main fun part of the game is getting together with other players and laying waste to them with cute little demons.

Thank God for that.

What if you're atheist?

Depends which servers.....some admins are complete sore losers.......or it depends on what you are using.....theres also a Net Etiquette and some certain pokemon and sets are heavily looked down on.

Things you should know...

Skarmory + Blissey = Ugh...
Legendaries/00bers= No...

Those are the 2 most agreed upon ones...anything else is personal preference.

Judging from your sig...if you used any of those teams...you'd almost be instant kicked.

So what's the Skarmory + Blissey technique? And how'd you define an "oober". The people I battled had all the newest shiny legendaries and I still beat them with one legendary (Mewtwo). What's wrong with my Silver and LeafGreen teams?

I've never actually had any enjoyment out of battling the pokemon... only in raising them. I'm raising them to battle, sure, but that's beside the point.

Well if you're fighting legendaries vs legendaries its fine...they have no right to say anything....but some people despise legendaries and like fighting with normal non-legendary pokemon.

00bers are those super cheap legendaries in a league of their own...those include, Mewtwo, Latios/Latias, Groundon, Lugia, Ho-oh, Rayquaza, Kyogre....you get the picture...you can tell if somebody might be using a legendary if their battle power is over 65%

Legendaries aren't looked on in favour that much more, 3 birds, 3 dogs, 3 regi's....

And SkarmBliss...is a stalling tactic that also does heavy damage......Skarmory has no physical weaknesses and unparelled physical defenses. Blissey has craploads of HP, near complete immunity to any status effect, can heal an entire team of ailments and incredible ammounts of spcl.def....and only 1 weakness.

The basic tactic is to setup Spikes with Skarmory then Whirlwind them to death and if they have a special attacker you switch to Blissey and just stall the hell out of them. In essence they're almost worse than a legendary.

It sounds weak...but the combo is heavily despised by nearly everyone.

I love that manga. Even with the overly large chests of the women edited out (really though, they ARE a little much. >.>;; ), it just feels so much more fanciful then the anime. Pity it was canned during the Orange Isles Arc because it was "too much."

I once left a charmander as a charmander until level 99, then evolve again at 100. I think because I read it made the pokemon stronger or something. Not sure why, I never had the chance to battle anyone and any L100 pokemon could take out the Elite Four. Irregardless I had a team of over six L100 pokemons in case I was ever challenged.

Yeah, base levels grow quicker and the more stats it has when it involves, the greater the jump in stats.

Yeah, base levels grow quicker and the more stats it has when it involves, the greater the jump in stats.

It has no effect........only reason you'd stop evolution is 1 of two things...
a) To level with less exp
B) For a extra move, eg. Breloom's Spore can only be obtained if you don't evolve it till after lvl 50

It has absolutely no effect on your stats bonus and is complete myth.
