Now...its a free for all and the winner of the Colloseum tournament was a fat kid with a Rayquaza with Hyper Beam......
(For the record Hyper Beam is a horrible move, 150 power for 2 turns = 75 power per turn and Rayquaza dies in one hit from near any Ice attack or 2 hits from a rock attack)

As single player quests they certainly aren't as developed as the handheld games but I guess they're good to provide some amusement and the ability to catch Pokemon unobtainable in the current GBA games. The colosseum mode is good to really test your skills against a variety of teams and competitions though, which I always found a bit underrated since the Stadium days since they are actually challenging (unless you use legendaries, in which case you'll blaze through them). The colosseum mode is more developed than the Stadium Modes back in the N64 days and don't have as many annoying Cups that most people don't have the right Pokemon for and the addition team battles makes things even more interesting.
They're decent extensions to the GBA games, no more no less. Not really worthy of the $50 to purchase them but for $20-$30 it's not a bad deal if you want some more Pokemon action, but only if you want more Pokemon action. The Gamecube games definitely won't reignite any interest in the series nor make you love the series any more than you already do.

It's lost. T.T And there's no way I'll be able to convince my parents to get me another one, and I don't have any money right now...
Besides, I don't really want to start over anyways. *searches for game*

Then I'm sure you'll enjoy Colosseum's Colosseum mode as it's just like that only without the Baby Cup stuff. There are only Level 50 and Level 100 Battles and each Cup has both a single battle mode and a team battle mode. It's definitely up there to really put a challenge to your team which is why I said it's a good compliment if you really enjoy Pokemon.I enjoyed Stadium R2 actually since those guys could put up a massive fight in the lvl 50 and lvl 100 cups and Gym Leader castle was pretty fun....but the baby and other odd cups were stupid. In fact Stadium 2 is still the only game I have uncompleted only because I never finished the R2 baby cup.
We'll see how they do with this game but the game will share a few things with Colosseum such as Shadow Pokemon rather than wild ones and transportation between areas is still done via choosing your destination on a map. But those aren't things that can prevent it from being a better overall quest. We'll see how the final outcome is but with an apparent downplaying of any sort of Colosseum Mode I hope they make it up with a really well designed single player quest.Isn't Gale of Darkness supposed to be a full-fledged game, rather then some gimmicky sidething like Collosseum? I was planning on buying it with that in mind, but none of you seem interested. Why?
One thing they did do with the Shadow Pokemon this time around is that there are four different Shadow moves rather than just the Shadow Rush like before.

Well from what I played Colloseum suffers from the changed system in that AI can't keep up. In GSC pokemon were much more powerful so there was room for the AI to screw up. In RSE's game pokemon are generally weaker and specialized and strategies are more specific so Colloseum can barely keep up with its not too bright AI.Then I'm sure you'll enjoy Colosseum's Colosseum mode as it's just like that only without the Baby Cup stuff. There are only Level 50 and Level 100 Battles and each Cup has both a single battle mode and a team battle mode. It's definitely up there to really put a challenge to your team which is why I said it's a good compliment if you really enjoy Pokemon.
Also theres little reason for my to play since Nintendo have done a poor job of promoting GCN lately and also the lack of any tournament gatherings to warrant me getting Colloseum for fine tuning my game.

Do Emerald and Colusseum connect? I've been worrying about that.

And there will be new Pokemon games as long as there are new Mario and Zelda games. The franchise will live until Nintendo's end. Duh.
I have Charizard and Eevee plushies somewhere...

And I believe theres supposed to be something big as Nintendo announced the announcement of Pokemon Pearl and Diamond so they've got something planned.

We'll see what happens but even if Diamond & Pearl is shown there's a chance they may just show the new generation of Pokemon and not the games themselves.
