The Hylian in TWW dates back to the OoT era, and TWW takes place centuries after OoT.Anyway. The translation of the Hylian would possibly give us some story details... and the fact that its TWW Hylian shows us it happens just after TWW, and not centuries after.

- That "moss creature" that people refer too... I think it's possibly a statue come to life. I think the moss signs hint at that being an old and neglected statue.

My second thought was Miyazaki, but my first impression was Doshin. I wonder what the chances are of it really being him? It would surprise me less than Link becoming a wolf.remind anyone of a castle in the sky?

It doesn't look that LOTR-ish, it looks like it will be a Zelda game. And what with the sort of rigid movements I honestly don't think that's too big a problem, and probably will be changed slightly anyway.
But for the love of God, I sincerely hope Nintendo makes this the imprisoning war.

Seems Link has bomb arrows now which were first introduced in Link's Awakening and were never used since (put a bomb on one action button and the bow in the other and press them at the same time).
No, I think those are fire arrows, look at the tip of the arrow.

How. In the hell. Can you say TWW sucked? It may not of been as long as OoT or MM (which actually has fewer dungeons, unless you count the moon dungeons), but it was still a great game. The graphics were beautiful, etc, etc., you can't judge a game by graphics, and all the other stuff that has been said to TWW-hates since '03.I'll never understand a lot of you zelda fans...
This is how I feel:
OOT = Best video game ever created.
MM = Still good but not as great as OOT.
WW = sucked
Trailers for Zelda2005 = w00t w00t!!!
You know, you're right, the moss creature does look like Doshin. That would be cool if it was named that, too, just for a cameo's sake.

Being able to ride a boar: my guess is that's going to replace the ability of using other enemies weapons. Instead of stealing their swords and stuff like in WW, you can ride their mounts. Hell, the mounts might even have different speed abilities or strength or somthing. Who knows.
I like the idea of the baboon being a Goryia. They were always wolf-ish in the past, but I've always considered them monkey-ish too, so I could definitely see that.
With the undead scene, my guess is that's the new Lens of Truth being used, which would be awesome. Notice the air? My guess is you're supposed to either follow it to its source...or avoid it because it could kill you. Either way, it seems very Zelda-esque.
What Kuffie said is a REALLY big point. If you've ever seen a Zelda trailer and then played the game, you'll notice that nearly everything you see in the trailer is the first level of the game. My guess is that the first temple is....a temple (duh!). You know; the ancient jungle ruins. The forest, the baboon, the undead...it all makes me think that. So don't jump to any conclusions.
As for the bomb arrows, that would be awesome. I really loved that feature in LA. It looks kinda like the fire arrows at first, but notice the explosion when it hits the enemy....looks like bomb arrows.
The lack of HUD? Well, I was watching the WW trailer from years ago...the one that starts off, "Every game has a story...only one is a legend." If you looks at that, the hearts are gone in there too, but they're in the game. My guess is it's just a beta thing. Chances are we'll get at least the hearts, if not the icons. The icons weren't around in the 2-D games (until MC), so it's very feasible that they took them away. We'll see.
Overall....if they fix the awkward running and a couple other things, this game will be freaking awesome. It really looks promising.

Obviously, but that's not what matters. In TWW, the Deku Tree states that he spoke Hylian because he thought he was speaking to the Hero of Time. Therefore, in terms of plot, the Hylian in TWW is from the era of OoT.The actual Hylian has a completely different typeset across the two games, actually.

Hylian is always the same. It may look different from the OoT and ALttP texts, but that might be because those games couldn't render it the way WW does. My guess is that WW's Hylian is the real Hylian. Plain and simple.

I have one complaint about the new Link... and I know i'm going to get lynched for this.
Notice how he runs, in particular the scene where he's running from the Ghoma-looking boss. It looks unnatural, with this back straight up and his arms so parallel with his body. Think about how he ran in the N64 games.. it looked cooler.
Not gonna lynch you but, I actually think he runs naturally as I run pretty much like that normally. This is because of spending quite a few years running for my school coach with a bag(s) too heavy for me. It makes me think of someone running with a heavy load on their back, and it's not as if Link doesn't carry a fair few items with him in Zelda games.

Wow, Kishi's simple logic has a great point, lol. We may have been looking too hard into the language thing.

I thought that if language evolved, slowly, he wouldn't know. Also, the Deku Tree isn't from the OoT era it would seem. It's just as easy to say that the languages are like Old English (ye olde bastard) (or even older variations of English that read like Welsh) and Common English (you bastard!).

Actually Zythe not to be too off topic, "ye olde bastard" wouldn't be old english, it wouldn't even really be middle english, as ye means eye, and you is "st"(this would be stuck in the middle of a verb), sadly I don't know what olde and bastard translate into. I just wanted to clear up a common, yet foolish(not you personally Zythe, most people make it) mistake about "olde English". I personally think people write differant ways over time and that is shown in the text.
Since SteveT went nazi at me for putting the "eth" suffix to make words seem old, I actually looked it up. That was just my giving an example in a way people would recognise, not an actual implementation of what I know.
Topic? Sorry, got nothing.

And oh yeah, from the sound of it, they still have Nobouki Hiyama doing Link's voice.
I know that's kind of a crazy thing to be happy about, but its good to stick with certain things. I was disappointed to find Wind Waker's Link to be voiced by some other person than Fujiko Takimoto. (I think I got that name right)
You got the last one right, but not the first one. It's "Nobuyuki Hiyama." And TWW's voice was provided by Sachi Matsumoto.

Stop talking about Nazis. My great grandpa died in the Holocaust and I find that when you use the term to describe something like that, it makes it lose meaning. The Nazis were terrible people that killed 6,000,000 of my people.

I'm not worshipping Hitler. And I'm not anti-Semitic (that means prejudiced against Jews, if you're as dumb as I think you are) and by calling someone a Nazi in a derogatory way then I'm actually doing the opposite. Now, could you please get a brain tumor and die? And if you don't die of it... maybe it'll increase your brain mass, if only in weight.

Look, I don't think the Holocaust was funny and I actually spent hours of my own time researching it because I thought it was a terrible atrocity and we shouldn't forget it. You've sent this thread completely OT and I wouldn't be surprised if a mod were to come a long and ban us both, now.
Stfu, and concentrate on more important things than trying to persecute peope for racism when they aren't even racist.

I'd clap, but I'd hate for you to take it as a reference to the sound barrages inflicted on your people in concentration camps.
Maybe, if you would just drop the dumb-ass remarks then this thread would get back on topic!
