I don't think any version of Link has had normal ears.

Lol. Good one. Link's ears never were round in what I have seen. That is just part of his character. Link without the pointed ears would be pretty weird.

My favorite Kooky theory is I lived on a parallel earth not unlike this one only main differences in that earth was Sasquatch did exist and OOT Link had human reas.

All evidence points that I was obviously wrong but I have very vivid memories of Link having human ears, in fact I remember that one of the reasons Link was seen as an outsider in Kokiri forest besides no Fairy was his ears. I also remember distinctly discussing how Link was not Hylian in OOT because he didn't have pointy ears in this very forum, (well I think before it joined Legends Alliance and it was still Davogones forum). I also remember being happy that Wind Waker Link had elf ears again since I didn't like OOT having human ears. I also remember reading a post on NeoGAF when OOT 3D was revealed and he mentioned "Link has pointy ears, thats going to mess up some zelda theorist theories".

Oh well apparently its not true its just odd I have so many memories of it. I am not sure why.

Perhaps you come from a parallel dimension where OoT Link did have round ears, and you've accidentally entered this one somehow?

There is a thread currently on IGN in which people are debating that it is unknown whether or not there is a single or split timeline, and that part is a mystery. There is also some BS about TP Ganondorf being different than OoT Ganondorf. I understand if they are new to the Zelda timeline why they might believe it, but even when presented with logical arguments they still come up with some BS response.

IGN has been like that for years. They're unwilling to accept what Nintendo says and keep coming up with excuses. A member from IGN named Volvagia Slayer even came to this board earlier in the year (or maybe a year ago) and tried to defend his theories, only to vanish after his arguments were countered.

I still don't really like split timelines, but TP/TWW does make it kind of an inevitability. (So, I have TP off on its own as the only member of the split... Poor thing.)

I'm sorry to hear that ign hasn't changed. I was a member there for about a week and I was unsuccessful with shooting down some of theie theories. I lasted longer there than I lasted at ONM, though.

I remember that. Especially since I think it was my fault that he found this place in the first place since I mentioned this site when I used to post on ign. Don't a lot of people leave here after their crazy theories are shot down? I'm still surprised that the TP Ganon =/= OOT Ganon is still around.

The problem is you're assuming TP Ganondorf and OoT/TWW Ganondorf are the same guy. It is highly debatable that they are 2 separate incarnations of Ganon/dorf.

THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT IGN ZELDA THEORISTS BELIEVE!

I don't even know why anyone would want to believe that. The contrast between the two sides of Ganondorf's personality is one of the most compelling things about the split timeline.

This has been mentioned a few times in this thread. If you really want to see something bad, go to ONM's timeline thread. I doin't know about what the site is like now (I was only on there for three days) but earlier this year quite a few members there actually believed that Ganon didn't die in TP even though he was didn't have the ToP anymore and was just stabbed in the gut. I saw something similar on ZD a few months ago.

I said that the Zelda fans that think that Aonuma doesn't know what he's talking about when he says that there is a split timeline is like a Catholic thinking that the Pope knows nothing about Catholicism. This is the response I got.

Also, your Catholic canon analogy is faulty because the Pope didn't play any part in the writings of the Scriptures he's interpreting.

He missed the point. He's right that it's not exactly the same because the Pope didn't write the scripture. IT'S F*CKING WORSE!!! Aonuma did have a hand in making TWW and TP, to name a few, so he would know what he's talking about when it comes to Zelda even moreso than the Pope would know about Catholicism, but they were so stupid, they didn't even see that.

You guys have had that argument before and while Ganonslayer2000 theory can work, it just adds unneeded complexity. Lex and Quicksilver(since he just joined in lately) tho, their 'logic' just causes ZZ's brain to hurt.

How did they work around Aonuma's quote about Ganon to be executed before he did anything outrageous?

You know, no one ever wonders about Zelda's premonitions and how they would not come true in the CT. Would the timeline split include the changing of her prophetic dreams to include the new events of the CT?

This is actually an interesting idea.

After this it all gets fucking stupid. You know it's bad when I feel like taking Lex's side in an argument.

Just the general idea that Link was sent back to after he met Zelda, and that the "divine prank" was a result of Link having the Triforce of Courage, not a willful spite or plan of the divine.

And ZD, and some of those other sites around. It does seem the most of these theories are from those two sites with ZD at a close third.

Why the hell does Lex not believe a bunch of people on different sites who know Japanese including one actual Japanese person?

Because their translations are inconvenient to his theories. They contradict him, so they must be stamped out.

That is a really stupid reason. I have seen a few more kooky theories there lately. I think I saw one in which instead of the split timeline, there is a single timeline with two Hyrules. The ST one and the old one following that old Deku Tree idea of somehow draining the ocean (they clearly missed the line right after the Deku Tree talked about his dream).
