As the second guy said, it's a double entendre. It's a word that can be read as "phantasm", "fantasy," and "dream."

The thing is, this "dream" is not synonymous with yume, the word we use for sleeping dreams, such as what the Wind Fish experienced. It's more used for daydreams, whimsies, plans, or even certain spiritual manifestations.

So if I had to wager a guess, I would say that the implication isn't that PH was an LA-style dream, but that, if anything, the Ocean King is some straight out reality warper, maybe? Bellum is said to have been an enemy that consumed the Ocean King's true body and forced him to astral project into a weaker form. Could Bellum be...one of these?

Hate to barge in here especially when MPS hates my guts, but we need a translation of this.

Someone on ZD has posted something which supposedly states the OoT manga is Canon.

Here's the article:

Spoiler

Well, I don't read Japanese. But according to that partial translation, it seems like Eiji's saying that manga writers are more free to flesh out the Zelda world than someone bound by the constraints of gameplay. Which is kind of obvious.

I recall Jumbie saying that life and college were taking up his LA time, and he's also started learning another language.

As for Jacensolo06, the dude basically just dropped off the face of the earth. I don't know if something happened or if he figured he needed a break from the translations. I can totally sympathize with Jacen if he took a break, but it's odd how he hasn't even visited the site in months.

I don't know if Destiny's busy, but I have something from ZU. The poster smallville boy says that the Spanish version of Spirit Tracks calls Malladus an alias of the demon king.

Malhadus es uno de los
muchos apodos del maligno.
Alguien est intentando
resucitarlo.

Malladus is one of the many alias of the demon king.
Someone is traying to resurrect him.

Here's NoA's take on the line:

Correct, my dear. The Spirit
Tracks carry that energy.
If the tracks are lost, the
tower's energy will fade,
and so will the Demon
King's prison.
And that's just what the
evil ones are after!
They aim to resurrect
Malladus, the Demon King.

Though he doubts that Malladus and Ganon are the same, smallville boy wants to know if the Japanese quote contains the alias line.

From what I've seen, Malladus is called the Demon King in all versions.

Not that this implies a Ganon connection whatsoever (dumbasses)

I still have yet to find a Japanese text dump for ST, but in the mean time I'm going to write down some requests I have and have heard before I forget them.

First, bitterlime of ZU tried his luck at translating the Japanese term for "Triumph Forks" and came to the conclusion that it did not stand for "Bucket and Hose", as it had been reported to be in the Japanese games. I can't find the original post at the moment, so I can't get the actual Japanese text bitterlime was looking at, but here's the rest of his post.

Here is the mysterious "tarai":
???? - Wikipedia

It's a tub, a small flat wash tub. Not exactly a bucket...but I guess you could call it that. Definetly not a gardening tool though...
Furthermore one of the books in that row is about something to do with festival customs/traditions...so the idea that the whole row is about gardening strikes me as desperate bull**** to avoid WW and OoX refernces (which the row of books obviously heeds, with both having the WW name for the triforce and the title of the oracle games in them).

Was bitterlime's translation actually correct? Additionally, does this really mean anything for the bookcase that Tarai/Triumph Forks appears on in TMC?

Second, it would appear that the River Zora were renamed Geozards in ST. This renaming does not appear to have a purpose behind it, as River Zora can still dwell in water in ST. were the River Zora renamed in the Japanese version as well, or did NoA simply change the name?

Third, the silver crowns in ST are supposedly called Ruto Crowns and said to have belonged to a Zora princess. This is strange, as TWW showed us that knowledge of the old world was essentially forgotten, the (Ocean) Zora had long since turned into the Rito, ST Hyrule is not close to Old Hyrule, and Ruto never even had a crown in the first place. Again, does this text exist in the Japanese version of ST as well, or did NoA just put it in as flavor text?

Finally, some guy on ZU a few months back requested a translation of the Gossip Stone quote that said that the Gerudo praised horseback archery. It might also be good to translate the Gossip Stone quote about Ganondorf's horse, though I seem to recall seeing it already translated somewhere. It was part of a debate on if the Gerudo truly valued horses and might have even bred some of their own.

I might be forgetting one or two, but here are the main ones.

I have the Japanese for the gossip stones, but seriously a lot of it is WAY to advanced for me. I'll post it anyways though just in case MPS wants to look at it. The underlined parts are locations. The text underneath is what one of each gossip stone says.

As for bitterlime's translation I see nothing wrong with it. ST we obviously need a Japanese text dump for.

Still, there is no link listed about the Majora's Mask Manual.
http://forums.legendsalliance.com/topic/17108-list-of-japanese-translations/

I have looked in that thread all over again with no luck to find such a translation.
The question should be cleared what Termina really is. Is it a dream, a parallel dimension or is it a country on the same planet as Hyrule is?

Sorry about that; I even checked after I posted but I forgot to edit my previous response. Regardless, it's in the thread. Pages 29-36 had a lot of MM material if I recall correctly, so the translation should be around there.

If you find any translations that aren't linked to in the sticky, send a private message to Impossible.
