I have some doubts that they'll say anything about their intent behind the ending, but I'm still interested in these interviews. What has Lex been doing that pisses you off this week?

Lex went off-topic in his first post in a thread Impossible posted on ZU about two days ago. Lex was just saying his same old stuff too, so it wasn't even necessary.

Edit: By that I mean Lex going off topic was unnecessary, not Impossible's reaction.

I'm not saying he's not, I don't pay too much attention to it but from what I've seen I agree with you for the most part, I was just commenting on how heated their struggle is.

Just thought I'd post this link to some unused (maybe?!) music in Twilight Princess (hopefully I'm not derailing the topic too much). Along with Ganondorf's unused speech, it seems as if (at least at one point in production or another?) that TP foreshadows LttP/IW. This is by no means conclusive evidence of anything, but it seems interesting when you lump it together with a lot of other things.

EDIT:

Crap, false alarm. Prime blue stated:

He used Twilight Spectre's "Mute BGM" codes and just muxed the new track with the recorded video (sans music).
He did the same thing with the Hyrule Field video.

I've got no problem with that, but telling people to have found a "hidden track" is not cool.

Now I'm sad. Thought I found something shedding some light on something. :(

Maybe the bad quality is why they left it out of the game?

I was looking at the Zelda Box booklet Impossible linked to and I found this comment by Aonuma on the page about Laruto and Fado:

「時のオカリナ」に登場したゾーラ族の進化した形がリト族で、コキリ族が森から離れてコログ族になった、という設定です。見た目はまるで違いますが、血は継承されています。

Which translates to:

We created the Rito as the evolved form of the Zora that appeared in "Ocarina of Time" and the Korogs as what the Kokiri became once they left the forest. They appear different, but they have inherited their blood.

I guess we can finally put that argument to rest.

And apparently I translated but didn't post the request about the Poes from like a month ago. Oops.
So here that is:

オオ… なかなか 威勢のいい ニイさんだ。勇ましくて おまけに イイオトコ…
Oh… What a vigorous young man. You’re brave and good looking, too…

Oh...you are quite an energetic young man. You're brave and handsome, too.

Heh heh heh… Your name is Link, isn’t it? Heh heh… Don’t be so shocked. I can read people’s minds.

Heh heh heh...your name is Link, isn't it. Heh heh he...don't be surprised. I can read people's minds.

If I was good looking like you, I could run a slightly different business… Hee hee hee.

If I looked as good as you, I could run a different kind of business...heh he heh...

My shop is Hyrule’s only Ghost Shop.

My shop is the only Ghost Shop in Hyrule.

That the times have become so good for this business is all thanks to Lord Ganondorf… Hee hee! Ahh, if only this world would get even worse.

Because of the great Ganondorf, it is a fine time for a business like this...heh heh heh... Oh...I can only hope the world gets even worse!

Poes appear in graveyards and fields quite often and are masses of spirits of those who resented this world to the very end.

The ghosts, called Poes, are spirits of concentrated hatred that appear in the fields and graveyard. They hate the world!

If you catch any Poes, I’ll buy them for a high price. Ee hee hee!

Young man, if you catch a Poe, I will pay a lot of money for it... Heh heh hee!

Thank you Jacen. You've not only put the Zora?Rito issue to rest, but you've confirmed that Poes are actual spirits (or a collection of spirits) instead of concentrated hatred. Finally things like Sharp and Flat being Poes are no longer an issue.

Once again, thanks Jacen.

Jacen, I have a question for you about this quote.

A leader of thieves who once invaded Hyrule to establish dominion over the sacred place.
He was the leader of a band of thieves who invaded Hyrule in the hopes of establishing dominion over the Sacred Realm.

Where it says "over the sacred place", could it also be interpreted as "over that sacred place" (which would connote that the "sacred place" is referring to Hyrule)?

Where it says "over the sacred place", could it also be interpreted as "over that sacred place" (which would connote that the "sacred place" is referring to Hyrule)?

It literally says "invaded Hyrule in order to obtain [the] Sacred Land/Place". It could mean "invaded Hyrule [which is the Sacred Land] in order to obtain the Sacred Land [which is Hyrule]" or it could mean "invaded Hyrule [where the entrance to the Sacred Land is] in order to obtain the Sacred Land".
It really all depends on if you interpret the quote from the point of view of "Sacred Land = How it's used in every other game" or "Sacred Land = Hyrule".

So, in short, the Japanese text is (once again) of no real help with semantics because it can be interpreted in multiple ways.

And here's where NoA screwed up:

おお・・・ リンク殿! 心配しておりました
Oh? Link-dono! I was worried about you.

Say... Link! You're alive and well!

Did you find anything in those desert execution grounds??

Tell me, did you find anything of interest at the Arbiter's Grounds in the desert?

The truth is, I used to serve the Hyrule Royal Family by being the one appointed to educate Princess Zelda when she was young.

The sages... Those sages once served the royal family, actually. They were appointed as tutors to the young Princess Zelda.

That is when I heard about the cursed mirror that resides in the execution grounds.

It was from them that I first heard tales of the accursed mirror in the Arbiter's Grounds.

I'm not sure how NoA screwed this one up. The sages are never even mentioned in the Japanese.

Wow that's a big difference. Thank you. I thought I thanked you earlier but I guess I forgot.

I have another small request, just something from the Queen of Fairies in Wind Waker:

I am the queen of the fairy world!

I wonder if there's really a fairy world...the Zelda Wii art's similarity to the Queen of Fairies made me think of this.

I just remembered that she had a figurine. It could have some new info as well.

Queen of Fairies
----------------
Birthplace: Fairy Island
Talent: Empowering arrows with fire and ice

She appears to be but a child, but she is
much greater and more powerful than the
Great Fairies. She will grant Link
the power to add fire and ice to his arrows.

It doesn't have to be a literal fairy world. "Fairy world" could mean "The fairy society" just like people talk of "The aristocratic world."

Hopefully this isn't seen as any sort of thread necro.

Anyway, theorists on Zelda Universe are beginning to think that Hylians and Zoras might be the same species only because of the Rito Postman Koboli in The Wind Waker.

http://images4.wikia...9/91/Koboli.jpg

Because of his resemblance to the Running Man of OoT and his figurine description:

Koboli
Birthplace: Windfall Island
Occupation: Mail sorter

Koboli is the third generation in a family
of postmen, but rumor has it that an
ancestor of his in an age gone by was also
a postman...

People are beginning to think that the Running Man screwed a Zora and had kids. Could somebody please look at the Japanese figurine description of Koboli to see if this is shot down by the original translation or not? Thanks in advance.

I think MPS means King of Red Lions.

Besides aren't the additional Links explained as the Pirates disquised as Links through some sort of magic or some such?

Hay I was wondering if someone would translate some manual story text for me. I would like the manuals stories from:

Classic series LOZ
Classic series AOL

I mainly want these for completeness sake, as these are the most up to date versions of LOZ and AOL manuals.

I would also like the Manual stories from:

TMC
OOA and the rest of OOS

I appreciate anyone who would be willing to do this :D. No need to be fast about it, just do it when its convenient. I apologize if this has been done before and I just missed it, I tried searching for these in this thread and Zelda Legends but could not find them and they were not on Impossible's list.

I know it's not much, but I can read the title. It says Navitrackers, which is probably a combination of "Navigator" and "Trackers". Unless Navi is in the game...

The other words I can read are "Tetra", "OK", "Link" three times, and "Start". Which also doesn't help much, but it makes me pretty sure that it's just telling the prologue for the game.
