On an unrelated note, what if this is an elaborate and delayed April Fool's Joke? :0
No, it's not.

I don't think all of the new non-hidden characters were revealed for Melee before its release, so i'd be surprised if they do it with Brawl. I doubt they'll be announcing any more characters anyway. If anything, we might get some new videos and pictures. I think one of the main things that will come with this site launch is the announcement of a release date.I don't want to get too excited over Brawl...and I really don't want to know too much about it until the game comes out! Any more character info would ruin the game: It was one thing to show who they did, including Snake, but it would be a lot more fun to wait for the game, and see the character menu in person, to see just how many empty slots there are, than for them to show every non-hidden character now. Same goes with the stages; we've seen enough, all we need to do now is wait.

- Game retains basic premise/gameplay/combat mechanics!!! (Duh)
- That Sky stage is... the Battlefield! Except now it changes between night and day. Neat.
- The game has a shitload of composers. Seriously, wow. Some of them are really big ones, too. At first I though this list just named the guys whose remixed songs would appear in the game, but some of them have little to nothing to do with Nintendo, normally, so that can?t be it... Also, Nobuo Uematsu is notably missing. Strange considering he did make the theme song of the game.
And that's about it. Yeah, and a few new screens (is it just me, or does Link not look so... 'defunct' in these new ones?) + that spiffy remix. Kinda cool, but I wanted a release date. At least it says '2007'.
Oh yeah, and "Smash Bros. DOJO Launches with Daily Weekday Updates!"
I am appeased.

Quite frankly, video game music gives me extreme joy, so this news alone has got me tinglin'.
There's a lot of Square-Enix composers there, so what that means about a possible Square character, I don't know.
And huzzah for daily weekly updates. Even though that makes no sense! I'm very glad we're finally getting an update experience like the Japanese did with Melee.
As a side note, the website is incredibly pretty and stylish.

Ditto. Brawl just might be the best thing to ever have happened to Nintendo music, and that's pretty darn awesome by my account....Oh my god. That list of composers is beyond awesome. And I'm loving the Golden Sun-style remix (it's the composer for Golden Sun! I love the music in that game! Here's still hoping for a Golden Sun character) of the Menu theme.
Quite frankly, video game music gives me extreme joy, so this news alone has got me tinglin'.
Another thing is that the involvement of all these composers means that Nintendo are really tying third parties and other outside developers to them again, which would be nothing less than great. Not to mention the effort and quality insurance of Brawl itself.
You shouldn't be, because they did already it with Melee.I'm surprised that they even went with this orchastrated(sp?) stuff. If I recall, they did the same thing with Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. Having music scores like that in SSB:B is the icing on the cake.
Although they didn't have the likes of Mitsuda onboard at that time...
You know this won't happen, right? If you look down the list of musicians, there are a number of people who composed the music for the current VC titles. WHAT IF YOU CAN UNLOCK A NEW CHARACTER FOR EACH VC TITLE YOU OWN??? SO IF YOU'VE GOT ACTRAISER, YOU CAN HAVE THE MAIN CHARACTER FROM THAT GAME IN SMASH BROS? Awesome, no?

An opponent with higher damage flies farther.
http://www.smashbros...n_us/index.html
Then again, the Temple stage on Melee also had floating chunks of ground with columns on them, so it may not necessarily be the Sacred Realm. I know that it isn't Battlefield because if you take the time to look and compare the two, you can tell that it is a different stage.

FOX LOOKS LIKE CRAP.
Why did they have to go with the Assault redesign? It looks so bad...

Old news. This is Pit's stage, the Sky Palace, it was revealed with the Nintendo World Movie. There is a stage that could be the Sacred Realm on Brawl. Look at the picture with this caption underneath:

Actually it's quite a bit like the Command design, rather than the Assault design. They're similar, but the Assault design wasn't as bad as the Command one (Command uses odd character designs that, while they work in Command, look weird when compared to the ones in the other games). Why did they have to go with the Assault redesign? It looks so bad...

Eh? Deformed? This is quite a turnabout from Melee, where character designs ranged from pretty accurate to downright deformed.
They looked akin to their most recent games in Melee too (or akin to how they appeared in the previous Smash, anyway), with the exception of some characters like Peach and Marth who became hot. It's just that the last time they appeared was on the N64, so it was a large jump in graphical quality. The general style of the characters was identical to how they were in their previous outings, though.

Speaking of Fox, did anyone notice that all the characters thus far look practically identical to how they did in their latest games? This is quite a turnabout from Melee, where character designs ranged from pretty accurate to downright deformed.
Uh... what? The Melee characters looked pretty much spot-on accurate from either their most recent 3D (if possible) outing, only with the resolution turned up, or in Ganondorf's case, the Spaceworld Demo.
The characters in SSB have always looked as they have in their most recent games. Just look at the Mario model in the first SSB. (This is why I'm SO glad there was a major Zelda game in between Wind Waker and SSBB.)

Yoshi, mostly. I guess he does look rather akin to how he did in SM64, but he was ugly in that game too.Eh? Deformed?
Bowser, DK, Peach, Fox, and indeed Mario himself were practically reinvented visually for SSBM. At the very least they took liberties not yet seen in SSBB (the exception again being Mario) Yeah, you can recognize them, but saying that they look like in their previous game is like saying Paper Mario uses the same visual style as the last 2D Mario game. They looked akin to their most recent games in Melee too (or akin to how they appeared in the previous Smash, anyway), with the exception of some characters like Peach and Marth who became hot. Bleh. TP Link is ugly in Brawl, and Ganondorf's design sucks in comparison to his TWW conterpart. The characters in SSB have always looked as they have in their most recent games. But they DO use the same visual style, the only difference is a massive leap in graphical resolution. Take Fox, for example... In Melee, while he doesn't look like he did in SF64 due to a massive leap in graphics, you can still see that he is depicted in the same *style* as he was in SF64 and the original Smash. However, in Brawl it's obvious that his design is based more on the Assault/Command designs.Yeah, you can recognize them, but saying that they look like in their previous game is like saying Paper Mario uses the same visual style as the last 2D Mario game.
The only problem with Ganon in TP is that his armour makes him look fat. Other than that, his face is virtually identical to how it was in TWW, just more realistic and with the cool crown thingie. But yes, his armour isn't as good as it was in OoT, although it is technically more realistic (in real life, armour doesn't look as cool as people think).Bleh. TP Link is ugly in Brawl, and Ganondorf's design sucks in comparison to his TWW conterpart.
As for Link... He looks pretty damn similar to how he did in TP to me. And it's certainly a step up from the previous Smash game and the Spaceworld demo - when you look back, Link looks kinda silly. Very orange, plasticy face. Now he looks seksay.

But look at Bowser. He just doesn't look like he did in SM64, even if you take graphical advancements into consideration (though such advancements were obviously what made for this much needed change in appearance ? He looked like ass in SM64).But they DO use the same visual style, the only difference is a massive leap in graphical resolution. Take Fox, for example... I agree with you there, though I don't like his hairdo. Still, Ganondorf's clothes were much cooler in TWW, as was his fighting style. The only problem with Ganon in TP is that his armour makes him look fat. Other than that, his face is virtually identical to how it was in TWW, just more realistic and with the cool crown thingie. But yes, his armour isn't as good as it was in OoT, although it is technically more realistic (in real life, armour doesn't look as cool as people think).
I dunno. There is something about his face that just doesn't seem right. His eyes are like... too small, I think, and they stare creepily... or something. Meh. Now I'm just nitpicking. As for Link... He looks pretty damn similar to how he did in TP to me. And it's certainly a step up from the previous Smash game and the Spaceworld demo - when you look back, Link looks kinda silly. Very orange, plasticy face. Now he looks seksay.

But he DID look akin to official art and CG renders of Bowser around that time, which is what they were basing those rather lame models on in the first place (thankfully they moved away from the 'fat Bowser' of the Mario Party series). But look at Bowser. He just doesn't look like he did in SM64, even if you take graphical advancements into consideration (though such advancements were obviously what made for this much needed change in appearance ? He looked like ass in SM64).
