Z turned up his nose and looked away. "Fine."

Gabriel started to giggle at Z's reaction.
"Sorry, but you reminded me of a friend of mine back home." she said when he glared at her

While the two were talking, Kitsune had appeared as if out of nowhere, with a smile.

"Hey. I suppose I would get bored to death sitting around a ship. I need to see some action."

He walked off on his own, without looking back...

I smell that same scent...as the portal Steel had created...if only I could trace it...

Z, too, sensed the portal energy. "I sensed that same energy in the cavern... I knew it. He is here..." he thought.

[Mystic Kitsune]

Kitsune travelled into what seemed like a dense forest...but, if it was a forest it must be a pretty large island, right?

He was wrong. He was already at the other end within 2 hours of running. He decided it may be a longer island, and the width was just that small.

He headed to the right of his direction tracing where the portal was...

Gabriel. who also sensed the portal, leaned on her hammer. So, he's here. "I don't think we should dawdle any longer."

[SL the Pyro]

(G, you're sensing Steel, right?)

He sensed Kitsune running all over the island like a lost dog. Z could only laugh.

"Well, I guess I shouldn't sit here. I'll miss all the action." he thought aloud. He hopped (sp?) down and ran along the island. He traced the energy of his nearby friend. Z just hoped that Kitsune wouldn't find him first...

(Ooc: Steel? The hell? I meant the portal just smelled like...a portal! It doesnt mean steel is here O.o)

A few more hours...

Is it just me, or does daylight just not show up here? I just want to leave these people! Theyre slowing me down...I need to return to the mainland, the portal may help...sorry Ken, I wont be able to help you in whatever you were looking for...I have matters to attend to

He stopped for a second and looked down at his sword. He shook his head and continued...

The smell of the sea had returned...

"Hmph. Must be near the edge...the portal smell is coming from there too..." He said.

He stopped when he stumbled across a shipwreck, with a blue glow from within.

"Hahaha...thats it then." He said while he slid down the side ridge of the island onto the slanted deck of the ship...

Z was not pleased; Kitsune was nearing the portal. "Uh-oh." He immediately began running over to the portal.

"An intruder..." thought the one hiding in the ship. He had been meditating by the portal because cold air was issuing out of it, until he sensed someone. He immediately got up and hid himself.

[Mystic Kitsune]

Kitsune couldnt help but smile reaching the portal. Finally, it might take him somewhere, but at least off this island.

He didnt care if he ended up in the Canyon, he just wanted any place other than the sea.

He began approaching the portal, his sword began vibrating, as if there was a dark presence. He didnt care.

"Damn Island...damn crew...Im leaving you...I have important matters to attend to..." He said to himself getting nearer to the blue light.

The man hiding in the ship was amused at this half demon's ignorance. He decided to speak up before he made a big mistake.

"I wouldn't go through there..." said a male voice from behind some of the wreckage. The man revealed himself; his body was bright blue, and his eyes were completely red. He almost looked like Z, save for a blue cloak rather than a black one, and short, bright blue hair. He blue head, blue hands, and his brown boots were visible; he opted not to carry so much heavy equipment as Z.

"That portal leads to the top of a tall mountain. A very cold mountain. Someone like you wouldn't like it one bit."

"Cold. Keh! Who do you think I am?" He then turned around completley ignoring the man, even if he did look like Z.

"Besides, Ive always loved the mountains. Better than the sea." He said as he proceeded into the blue light.

[SL the Pyro]

A blade of ice extended from the man's cloak, blocking Kitsune's path.

"You don't get it. That leads to one of the coldest mountain on the planet; worse yet, that portal is suspended over a pool of freezing water. If you go there, you'll be turned into an ice cube in less than a minute, even if you are a half demon." the man explained. "You don't want to be an icicle, do you?"

"Why do you care? Eh? You dont even know me!" he pulled out his blade which melted the ice instantly.

"Dont you see? This blade's light energy can be quite warm as well. For all I know, you may just not want me to go through because youre hiding something." Kitsune said.

He sensed Z coming from the same ridge he was just at.

"Oh great..."

[SL the Pyro]

"If you say so, but don't say I didn't warn you." the man said.

At that moment, Z crashed in through the roof and landed on his stomach. "Ow."

"Still dropping in after all this time, Z?"

"Uh-huh. And how would you be doing, Koran?"

Kitsune just shrugged at the random meeting.

He proceeded, and before stepping in, mumbled, "Goodbye, Motoko..."

In a flash, he was on a mountain top...but...no snow?

"That damn bastard...I knew he would lie..." He said. He realized he was standing in water though, but everything was dry and destroyed...

"He mustve been here..." He said remembering scenes from his past...

He walked, in a direction away from the portal. He did not know where the journey would take him, but he would kill anyone who got in his way until he can settle a score with an old 'friend' of his...

(As of now, I leave this thread. I might make a Mountain Quest or something later...)

[Gabe Puratekuta]

Both Gabriel and Motoko decided to follow Kitsune and Z. After a few hours, they reached a wrecked ship and leaped onto the deck. It was there that they saw Z fall into the cabin from the roof.
Motoko, who was worried about Kitsune, ran inside and saw a strange man that looked like Z. "Wh-Who are you?"

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

Ken had split with the others a little while ago, and found himself standing on the edge what barely qualified as a town. It felt dreary, as though it had been effected by the dark aura around the rest of the island. There was activity in the buildings, but everything seemed muted. Ken walked further in and caught a broken sign with the name "Lieg'rjack" carved into it.

The boy sighed, and walked on. He stopped one of the townspeople.

"Excuse me, where might I find the tavern?" he asked.

The man he stopped pointed to one of the buildings, then held out his hand. Ken pulled out one of the few coins he had promptly gave it to the man.

"Thank you." the boy said.

Ken continued on to the tavern, and upon entrance was faced with stares. Their was a quiet bustle of conversation as Ken walked up to the bar.

"What do ya want?" the barkeep asked.

"I'm looking for a place to refit ships on this island." Ken stated plainly.

Ken felt the stares of the rest tavern-goers boring into his back before less hushed conversations began. The bartender smirked.

"A place to 'refit ships'? Aye, I just might know the place. I can't seem ta remember it correctly though... You suppose you might have something to help me remember?"

Ken heaved another sigh and pulled out some more coins, placing them before him.

"Ah, now I remember! It should be about northwest of here. A small house near the coast."

"Thank you..." the boy spoke dryly.

As he continued out the small town, Ken began to get very bad feeling about his mission. Everything about this seemed wrong. He felt like he was either finally trusted to do something big, or he was sent on a suicide mission.

The boy gripped the Wolfen's handle as he walked along, the hair on the back of his neck standing at attention.

Button, or, thing thing that called itself Button, was smiling to himself, seeing that everyone around him was distracted by something or another, whether they were running off or just distracted in general.

HEY!

All of a sudden, his right fist came up and gave him a punch in the face.

"Ow! You bastard, you're supposed to be sleeping!" said the thing fiercely. By now his face had changed. It was even paler than before, the circles under his eyes were eccentuated (sp?) by his ghostly white skin. His eyes were yellow, and the blue pupils now a sick green color. His teeth were yellowed and his saliva was as of dark black blood.

"Oh, am I? You stole my life!" said he. Except, it wasn't him, it was the real Button, the man with no name. Immediately as the real Button gained back possession of his body, his appearance was normal again. His eyes were white and his pupils blue. His skin was lively, and his teeth were...not as yellow o.o

"Shutup! It's mine! And I'm going to try and catch up to that...boy!" said the thing. Immediately Button's body took it's form again.

"No! We're taking off!" said Button.

"Agh!" said the thing, and it gained back full possession of Button's body. It hopped off the ship and ran off in a random direction.

The rest of the crew and passengers were totally oblivious.

Back at the ship, the portal slowly closed.

"Why did you lie?" Z asked his old friend.

"I didn't..." Koran stated flatly. "Ah, maybe... oh. It was just cold because I was there before. Now that I left, the mountain top is back to normal."

"Still not thinking before you speak... you haven't changed a bit." Z almost chuckled. "Bleh, at least I don't have to worry about Kitsune any more. Good riddance to him."

"You're still as cold as ever, I see."

"Speak for yourself." Z and Koran just laughed and walked towards the exit of the shipwreck, until their paths were blocked by Gabriel and Motoko. "Oh, great..."

"Wh-Who are you?" Motoko asked, staring at the man who looked like Z.

"You may call me Koran. And you are?"

"This isn't good... Kitsune just went through the portal, and now its closed... this is not going to turn out nicely..."

"Motoko!!!" a voice was heard and sudenly, Gabriel jumped from the hole Z made and heel dropped both men. She then grabbed Z by his collar and hefted him up against the wall "Where's Kitsune!!!"

[SL the Pyro]

"Get off of me." Z said flatly. He bega crushing Gabriel's wrists, forcing her to release her grip. He then threw her across the wreckage hard. It took a fair bit a restraint to not hold onto him and slam him all over the place.

Koran began speaking after getting up. "Kitsune is no longer here. There was a portal here -- I'm sure you sensed it -- and he went through it. It would take weeks, maybe even months to reach him where he is now." he explained.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

"Father!!!!" Motoko yelled as she ran to Gabriel. "Daijoubu?"
"Daijoubu."

[SL the Pyro]

Z and Koran just looked at each other; they had no idea what they said.

[Motoko: "Are you okay?"
Gabriel: "I'm fine"

The blue man that appeared to look very much like Z kept on talking, Lena patiently listened as Motoko and Gabriel had finally met him.

Koran began speaking after getting up. "Kitsune is no longer here. There was a portal here -- I'm sure you sensed it -- and he went through it. It would take weeks, maybe even months to reach him where he is now." he explained.

"So, what you are saying Koran is that we'll have to wait for him to return?" Lena asked, as it was she didn't want to stay on this island...something about it made her feel weakened and tired.

[SL the Pyro]

(Yeah.)

Z had sensed Lena's presence before, but he was confident that Lena wouldn't do anything. He had thought her a peaceful person. Koran again spoke up.

"I'm saying he won't return."

Z had to laugh at this. He decided to torment Motoko again. "Aw, what's wrong? Is the little incarnation of a sword sad that her boyfriend skipped town? Get over it! I've seen much worse."

Lena glanced over to see Motoko, pain straining inside her eyes. She had seen eyes like that before...and she wouldn't bare to see eyes like that again.

"Leave her alone!!" She shouted. Hm...this soul doesn't even deserve a heart, she thought.

"Who do think you are to have taken the only wish of an innocent girl? Obiviously a coward..."

Her hands tightened into a fist as she spoke, she seemed to be gaining her strength back, somehow...

Ken occasionally looked over his shoulders, feeling like something was there. Was something following him?

The boy went on down the path, all the more wary of the forest around him. He eventually came upon a what looked more like a hut than anything else. He came around to the door, knocking on it a few times.

"What do you want?" a voice asked, muffled by the door.

"I'm looking for a crimson treasure chest, and was told to listen to your wisdom to find it." Ken spoke.

"... Come in." the voice said again.

Ken opened the door and saw before a rather aged woman in old-fashioned looking clothes.

"So," she said, "Another wishes to find the Crimson Chest."

Z laughed at Lena. "You blame me? It was Kitsune's choice alone to go through the portal. If you have a problem with that, then feel free to attack me. Just know that I won't hesitate to crush your skull in my hand!" he said.

"And bare in mind that I tend to get a little careless with my attacks; I might hit one of your friends by 'accident,' heheh..."
