[Ken the Wandering Soul]

"Oh hello there!" A voice called to Z from deep in the cave.

^Run!^

The lupine Ken reacted instantly to Raiyu's command, taking off to the cave with renewed vitality. The wind almost seemed to push him along, as though it wanted Ken there too.

What is happening? Ken thought as he ran.

^No time for questions young one, run!^

Ken then ran into the group of dead trees, leaping over several logs. He came to rest at the cave, tumbling over. The Wolfen pulsed, and Ken's wolf form dissolved away, revealing the wolfen in its reguelr state, and Ken as his human self.

^Take the Wolfen in hand, contain the chaos!^

Ken drew the Wolfen and ran in, spotting Z.

"You!" he exclaimed.

Ken was about to lift up his sword when laughter broke out from somewhere in the cavern.

"Hee hee hee, someone else is here? Oh, two people are here! Wonderful!" the voice cackled.

The jewel on the Wolfen pulsed, and seven small lights shown from different parts of the entrance, and went down into the cave, drawing soft glowing lines across the ceilings and walls. Ken looked around frantically as he tried to figure out what was going on. He was having a cold start, running completely on reflex.

"So, you have the Wolfen? Great! What is your name?"

"... Ken... Ken Miyamasa..." the boy spoke cautiously.

"Ken? KEN? KEN?! KEN MIYAMASA?!?! Marvelous! Simply Marvelous!"

Ken was getting goosebumps. This person who was speaking from within the cave seemed--unstable.

"And what is your name, shadowy one, friend of Ken Miyamasa?!" the insane voice continued.

[~Light Goddess~]

Dammit, out of all the people who were present with the wolf, Z had to be the one to hear the truth about her. She had seen him jump out from behind him, seeing that he had looked into Ken's thoughts, and then broke chase in front of them. Just before Lena ran behind him, she noticed something in the bushes. A long, broken tree stem.

She took it in her hands, seeing that it was soft and somewhat glowy. Probably was a willow tree, Lena thought to herself. Hm...Maybe I'll keep this for now.

She then continued to run after the others. That's when she started to hear the voices.

"So, you have the Wolfen? Great! What is your name?"

"... Ken... Ken Miyamasa..." the boy spoke cautiously.

She then had made it into the cave.

"Ken? KEN? KEN?! KEN MIYAMASA?!?! Marvelous! Simply Marvelous!"

Ken was getting goosebumps. This person who was speaking from within the cave seemed--unstable.

"And what is your name, shadowy one, friend of Ken Miyamasa?!" the insane voice continued.

Noticing how dark it was in there, she then quickly made some light

"Lumos". (OC: I know I know, its from HP, but I couldn't think of anything else.)

[SL the Pyro]

"Hah! Don't you dare call me a friend of this fool..." Z laughed, getting serious and returning to his human form. The cave suddenly lit up. "Gah!" Z lifted up his cloak, using it like a cape to shield himself from the light. "Curse you, Lena!"

Z ran into the cave quickly. Whoever this evil one was, he seemed rather... insane. Perhaps he may be helpful in disposing of the others. Z ran in search of him.

Ken gripped the Wolfen even tighter, and pursued after Z further down into the cave.

"Oh, you want to see me that much? Wonderful!" the voice piped up again.

"Who are you?" Ken asked into the darkness as he ran.

"Me? Me? I'm no one. I'm not me you see. You do see don't you?"

"Are you the guardian of the Crimson Chest?"

"The what? Oh, the first piece! Yes, I know what you mean!"

The first piece? the boy wondered.

The walls of the cavern took on a more developed look, and after going even further was a chamber. There, the lines that had been drawn on the walls went to corresponding seven flames that burned on the ground.

"Welcome to my humble abode!" the voice called.

Ken whipped around and saw a man about in his twenties, with red & black hair, and yellow eyes. But his body seemed half-phased out of existance, some parts of body seemed to be transparent, or swirling around etherially before joining back.

Ken's eyes went wide. Except for the warped parts of his body, Ken recognized him.

"You--I saw you at the forest temple!" the boy exclaimed.

"One of the sane ones? He he he hee..." the man giggled, "He he he, you don't understand at all do you?"

The insane man drew a katana, and began to circle around Z and Ken.

"Do you want to know what is so dangerous, that he wanted to split himself? Well, do you?!?!" he continued to ramble.

[~Light Goddess~]

"Curse you, Lena!" Z had shouted as he continued to run down the cave. She passed by Ken, quickly tapping him on the shoulder.

"I'll try to hold him down. You take care of this creature." She then kept on running down, using the light glowing from her newly found staff (OC: Yay, she finally found a staff). Noticing the lined walls that continued to follow. She saw the gleam of a scarlet eye in front of her.

She planted the staff into the ground, making the etched lines glow from the staff's spell all around them. She then jumped up into the air and landed on top of Z, pinning him down in front of the light.

Even his eyes seemed to eminate a pure evil.

Ken gave nod to Lena, and then kept himself even with the insane man. He locked eyes with him, seeing an exotic chaos within them.

"... What is in the Crimson Chest?" the boy asked.

"So sad, if only you realized the power it gave him!" the man went on.

"Answer my question!" Ken shouted.

The red-haired one twitched and rushed at Ken, making a wide slash. Ken immediately brought up his own blade and blocked it, deflected the katana. Also for a second, the arm the man was swinging with seem to stabilize itself for just a few more seconds before returning to it's ethereal state. They were then back in neutral positions, trying to find the right time to attack.

"Have the first part, and you will become obsessed." the mans stated.

"What?" Ken asked.

"With the second part, paranoia sets in."the man continued.

"The second part of what? What is in the Crimson Chest?!"

"Know three parts, and you will go insane!"

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"Realize the final part, the part that decides between what cannot be and can be," the man cackled, jabbing a finger at the Wolfen, "Then not even gods could comprehend what would happen to you!"

The jewel on the Wolfen glowed, pulsing, beating.

"The Wolfen...? What the...?" Ken wondered aloud.

"HA HA HA HA HAAAA! You really don't get it do you? Of course you don't..."

Ken furrowed his brow and glared at the insane man.

"What the hell does it mean?!" the boy demanded.

"Come, try to end me... Can withstand your name, Ken Miyamasa?" the cryptically taunted.

Ken growled a little through his teeth and ran forward, cleaving through the insane man's ethereal body. he seemed defeated, but then ethereal mist that was once his body flowed behind the boy, reforming. Ken spun around. Ken did not notice it, but the seven fires around the parameter of the room flared up for an instant, as well as glowing writings beside them.

"Wh-what the?"

"HA HA HA HAAAA!!! I thought you could do better than that, little Miyamasa!"

[SL the Pyro]

Z only smiled. "Please, do you honestly think you can hold me down?"

Z quickly flung upwards, sending Lena up into the air a little; Z landed on his back, then plowed his boots into Lena's stomach. White and dark purple sparks eminated from the attack point, the dark ones sticking to Lena's chest and the white ones on Z's feet. He got up as Lena hit the ground, getting out of the circle of light incase it did something to harm him.

"Touchy, aren't we? I'm not surprised. We are made of two opposing forces... we can't even touch each other without getting burned." Z cackled. He knew that he was suffering as much as Lena, though he didn't care. "How does it feel, Miss Light Goddess? The darkness in your chest..." he taunted, knowing that it hurt as much as the light on his boots. He also knew the effect would fade shortly, but that was of no consequence to him.

He drew his Spike Chain, ready for battle...

Perseus glided towards the cave following the others.

“oh no…”
he said, stopping short at the cave’s entrance.

The others ran ahead, plunging into the darkness.

why must everything happen in caves…

Perseus sighed and sprinted into the darkness, drawing his knives.




Perseus ran through the darkness seeing a light up ahead.

is Lena generating that?

Perseus stopped short, as he saw Z and Lena facing off, the former swinging his spiked club in arcs staring her down, the latter holding her staff in hand, fierce determination showing in her eyes.

Perseus stepped up next to Lena, knives up.

“Alright… lets beat the crap out of this….” Perseus stared at Lena’s hands, “oh hey, nice staff!”

Perseus turned back to his enemy.

if only I could remember that light beam spell the monk once taught me…

[Gabe Puratekuta]

Gabriel was torn between helping her friends and protecting Motoko. She looked straight into the Silver Wolf, Raiyu's eyes and nodded. Then she unclasped her burnoose, placed it over her daughter's unconscious body and sped off to catch up with the rest.

After a while, she came to a cavern and, seeing both dark and light auras, ran inside. There, she saw Ken fighting an unknown entity while Perseus and Lena were fighting Z.
Not again.... she thought as she realized that another dilemma has presented itself to her. She then quickly assessed the scene. Ken might need some help. But then again, Lena and Perseus might not be a match for Z

[SL the Pyro]

Perseus stopped short, as he saw Z and Lena facing off, the former swinging his spiked club in arcs staring her down, the latter holding her staff in hand, fierce determination showing in her eyes.

(It's a spiked chain, Ransom. No club.)

"Perseus... good. I can eliminate both of my headaches in one blow. I'll crush you!"

Z's chain spread out around him, floating. "If they dare attack, my chain can cut their attack off, and at the same time I can whip them into a bloody mess. Perfect." he thought The chain began to violently lash out, tearing up some of the stone ground around him and quickly made its way to Lena and Perseus. Z had his chain smack them both hard in the face.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

There's my answer!! Gabriel rushed at Z and gave him a well, timed heel drop, making him lose concentration and his spiked chain fell to the ground

[SL the Pyro]

"Gah!" Z stumbled over, barely standing up due to Gabriel's heel on his head. He quickly regained his concentration, his crimson eye glaring at Gabriel. His chain flew up, and in four curves, drove her into the cave wall with a sickening crack.

Z laughed and said, "Heel dropping... is that the only physical attack you know? Perhaps I should educate you in some more painful techniques..." He got a sadistic smile on his face afterwards.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

"Hardly." Gabriel said as she stepped out of the hole that was created and brushed the dust off her clothes. She then stood in an Umi-senken fighting stance. "Bring it!!"

[SL the Pyro]

"As you wish..." Z said, his spike chain sliding back under his cloak. It wrapped around his body (as usual, actually), serving as an armor. Z then charged at Gabriel, so fast that it was like he was hovering.

He drove straight in with his fist, Gabriel rolling out of the way. Z's fist instead made contact with the hole in the wall where Gabriel previously was, making it deeper; the wall even seemed to shake a little. He jerked his claw out, seeing just how deep the hole now was.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

"Is that the best you can do?" Gabriel taunted him. She then got ready for a technique. "There's something you should know. Everyone in my clan has an animal form." She then started gowing a bright silver as her body started to morph. When the light faded, a mighty silver dragon stood where the young woman once was

[SL the Pyro]

Z was amazed at this new sight. "A dragon... impressive. I wonder why a wimp like you was burdened with controlling that mighty creature, though... heh. Whatever." Z reached his hand back through his hood. "I was going to fight you hand-to-hand, but now you've forced me to draw my most powerful weapon..."

A flash of dark energy was seen under Z's hood; out of it came a HUGE sword. It was completely black, and glowing with dark energy. He swung it; an incredible wind gust ensued, blowing the dragon back.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

A white flame escaped the dragon's mouto, cancelling out Z's attack. It then slashed the dark entity with it's claws

[SL the Pyro]

Z smiled. "Not too smart..." he said, then, with a single hand, he quickly slashed his sword at the dragon's claws. It what seemed like an instant, the claws were cut off.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

Another instant went by, and the claws grew back. The dragon then let out another burst of white flames, this time it used its wings to intensify the speed and strength of the fire

[SL the Pyro]

Z leapt high into the air, almost hitting the ceiling to avoid the flames. "Regeneration... this will make things interesting..." he said, turning into his Shadow Form. "A certain part of the body allows regeneration... I must find out where on this dragon that body part is. I hope you were expecting company in that body!"

Z flew into the dragon, engulfing it in his black flame and scanning the creature's mind with the little time he had.

[Gabe Puratekuta]

Before Z could find out anything, he was kicked out of the dragon's body.
It then glared at him with it's silver eyes and let out one more burst of flames. It slashed with it's claws as soon as Z dodged the flaming blast

The fight seemed to continue on after she had been hit by the wall. She used the light emmiting from the massive Dragon that Gabriel had morphed into, and found her staff. Damn him...she thought. Taunting me like that. Guess its time to use my backup.

Lena jumped into the air as she used the Dragon\'s arms as boosts, and wrapped both arms around Z. She knew that it would hurt her, but it would hurt him as much as it did to her. The shock then brought Z and Lena hitting the ground hard, where she took her staff to block him off.

"If you dare move, you'll be blided by my light." She said, coughing it up as she held him down.

[Ken the Wandering Soul]

Ken had been trying to battle this chaotic--thing, and was yet to find any success. He was beggining to note though, that the only thing it seemed he could hit was his oppoenent's katana,. Anywhere else and the sword might as well have been slashing air.

Damn, I need to find a way to keep him reforming... Ken thought to himself.

All of the sudden, the bloody-haired one stopped in his tracks and shouted upwards.

"Don't even think about helping him, wolf!" he shouted.

Ken blinked a few times.

Could he mean... Raiyu?

The boy then looked around the room while his opponent was distracted.

Wait a minute those torches on the ground have markings on them, but they aren't glowing like the rest...

The insane one rushed Ken, but the boy managed to block in time.

"Your finally seeing how I am, are you?!" he spoke.

"That I am!" Ken spoke back.

Ken then brought back his sword and swung parallel to the ground, aiming for the katana. The weapon bounced away with the heavy force, and it's owner went to retrieve it. Ken then ran over and looked over the markings on the floor. It was written in an old dialect, but Ken could read it.

"The warrior uses his mind and heart, not just his sword--So be it!" the boy read.

The flame flashed and changed from the dark red to a light blue in color. Ken looked to the other, and saw his opponent coming at him. Ken gripped his sword again, and swung upwards. The blade cleaved through, but with some resistance. The ethereal matter of the man's body floated upwards a little bit. Ken brought the sword back down to another stance and swiped at the katana, sending it clashing to the walls. As Ken brought himself back up from using the heavy Wolfen, he breathed little bit, trying to catch his breath. He had just woken up, and it looked he was going to get tired soon, but he had to keep going.

"Not as bad... As a I thought, little Miyamasa!"

Ken rushed to another of the flames.

"To exist only for the fight is no existance at all--So be it!"

The flame also turned blue, and Ken readied himself for another attack, bringing up the Wolfen to block the attack. The boy then pressed back the sword, locking his eyes again with the insane one.

"I get it now--you can't get me without that katana, and reciting the prayers makes you tangible!"

"I am not DEAD!!!" the other shouted back, wing the katana again.

Ken bloked, and swung the Wolfen again, cleaving through the ethereal matter and buashing the katana. The boy ran to the next flame and recited the prayer there. He continued on, and with each prayer the strange one became easier to handle. He no longer seemed so ethereal, he was almost solid.

Ken swung his sword again, cutting his opponent away. Parts of what seemed like flesh floated away before reforming back into the body. Ken took this time to recite the last prayer.

"True strength lies not in power or wisdom, but in one's willlingness to face fear--So be it!"

All the flames now blue, Ken rushed at the man and cleaved again. This time the other dodged, trying to stay far away.

"You can't reform anymore can you?" Ken guessed.

"Come and try little Miyamasa!"

[SL the Pyro]

Z glanced at the battle between Ken and the psychotic swordsman; since he couldn't regenerate anymore, the battle seemed to be coming to a close. "If I don't hurry up, Miyamasa will get away with the Crimson Chest before I do! Unacceptable!" He then looked back at Lena, pointing her rod at his face; she knew that any form of light would weaken him. But then he smiled. "I don't have to move to get rid of you..."

Without warning, Z's Spike Chain flew out of his cloak and slammed into Lena all over before she could react. After the chain quickly went back into place, Z wasted no time getting up and batted Lena's wand away, then delivered a hard, bone-shattering punch to her stomach. She fell to her knees, and Z quickly retrieved his sword and turned into a shadow along the cavern walls.

He knew he would be safe from attack now, so he scoured the walls for any sign of the Crimson Chest. He eventually found an abnormally strong section of wall. It had a draft coming from it; Z mused that it would open when he defeated the swordsman giving him grief, so he had some time left. He flowed into one of the tiny draft holes and into a largely decorated room. For the most part, it seemed to be a long hallway with lit, blue torches. At the end was an altar... with the Crimson Chest! Z cackled loudly so everyone could hear that he was near victory.

The blow had really taken her down, she started to cough up blood, feeling the pain surge through her veins. She couldn't fight him anymore. He would end up taking the chest, and all of Ken's hopes would be lost. She then looked over to find Perseus still fighting.

"Perseus..."She hacked. "How are you feeling?"

[SL the Pyro]

Z turned into his Shadow Form to gaze upon the largely decorated box that was the Crimson Chest. It was dawned with golden borders, and a shiny, luminescent crimson colour all over. "Quite a beautiful chest... something this decorative must hold something very valuable." he thought aloud. He then looked back towards the closed rock door, which from this side was marble coloured along with the walls.

"Sorry, Ken Miyamasa, but this is one commitment that you won't be able to uphold." he said. He opened his mouth and swallowed the chest (this is how Z carries things in his Shadow Form).

The entire cave began to rumble immediately after he picked it up, parts of earth falling to the ground.

"That figures... the cave is going to collapse now that its main reason for being created has been taken. Typical dungeons... oh well. Maybe the others will be buried under the rubble." Z thought aloud again, laughing at the thought.

He turned back into a shadow, starting in the direction of the exit with the chest...

Ken had locked eyes with his opponent again in combat. He was different now... He looked like he actually had purpose. Ken was about to bring up his sword, when they both saw Z flying away. With the cave starting to collapse, the red-haired one raised his arms above him.

"End me." he spoke simply.

"What?" Kena sked.

"End me. Take my essense--connect me with the rest."

"What do you mean?"

"I no longer have purpose anymore, except to reunite with the others... Seal me in the Wolfen, now!"

"How?"

"Just kill me..."

Ken brought up his sword, closed his eyes, and charged, stabbing through the air at the other as though the Wolfen were a lance. Ken opened his eyes to see the red-haired one still alive. In fact, he was pulling himself along the Wolfen toward Ken. He grabbed the cuff of Ken's shirt.

"You can face the power of whats put in that damn chest... You are the inheriter of all parts of his name... Ken Miyamasa..."

The Wolfen glowed, and the man faded away, turning into a red mist, then flowed into the jewel on the guard. Ken watched solemnly at the action, but snapped out of it when a rock fell next to him. The flames had died out too...

"Time to leave!" he shouted.

[SL the Pyro]

Z stopped for a moment. He felt like he had something else to do, something he forgot... then he remembered. He forgot to taunt the poor Miyamasa! He partly rose out of the ground in front of Ken, the Crimson Chest over his shoulder. "Hahahah! You want this? Too bad... good-bye!"

Z sunk back into the ground with the chest and began flowing away again.

"Damnit!" the boy cursed, running for the exit.

He ran out the cave, and looked around for Z's shadow.

"Show yourself you coward!" he shouted.

[Mystic Kitsune]

As if out of nowhere, a bright streak of white light was fired out of the entrance right along the ground where Z sunk into, melting the cave walls, floor, and destroying anything in its path.

The top of the blast had only skimmed Z, but still caused a blast made out of the element of light which scattered his shadow form tempoairily, exposing the crimson chest. It was the only thing in the direct path of the blast that didnt melt.

"Keh...I got back right on time...dont you dare...go around stealing a fellow Taiyosmen dream away like that..."

There stood Kitsune, at the door way, breathing heavily and bleeding, as he began approaching Z with his kaze dao completley drawn out and ready for another Kaze no Kizu.
