Motoko was thinking of the events that have happened when she found her father. Of the spirits, the new sights and sounds, and of Kitsune.... Those thoughts made her blush. "(Kit........su......ne....ta....ma...)" she whispered when the necklace he gave her popped into her mind

"Hmm?" Kitsune noticed Motoko was moving uneasily, as if she were having a bad dream while still awake.

"...are you okay?" He asked in a slightly worried tone. He didnt move his position, but it mustve been her feeling uneasy around the pirates, they were after all, well, pirates.

He laid her down over his lap, and stroked her gently as he was still looking around to see if there were any possible dangers.

Cap'n Button looked around a hoped that the cargo being transferred to the ship at that moment was the last of it. So where had XI gone? The wind blew in harder, as if someone was edging the boat to leave.

Let's set sail

Silently waiting for Ayden to leave, XI nearly sighed in relief as soon as he and his pirate cohort were alone. “Okay, bud, we’re looking for anything suspicious Look around for a bit, but hurry. I have the feeling these guys will kill us if we take too long,” XI said, half-jokingly. These “woodies” did seem in a hurry to leave.

“Did he just call our ship a boat?” the other asked.

“Don’t care,” XI shrugged, “Look!

“Um, why are we doing this?” he persisted on asking questions.

“Because I told you too! I’m a very important person, I can talk to DarkJuno without having my spine ripped out, after all,” XI barked, greatly exaggerating his role in the fortress’s work.

A few minutes passed by, as XI and his so-called bud worked in silence searching the hold. The only thing of real interest was a rusty sword, but XI wasn’t one for sword play. Alarming the other pirate of its presence, he continued to look in a different area. It seemed like nothing noteworthy was here, just some leftover food and the typical shipping gear. Frustrated, XI pushed over a large box filled with bags of food onto the floor.

“Ow!”

“Did you say anything?” XI asked his temporary partner.

“Nope,” he answered simply.

Confused, XI continued to inspect the area, forgetting his previous negative feelings. It wasn’t long before he spied something out of the ordinary. A small ball rested on the floor, covered in blue spikes. Interesting. Grinning to himself, he tried to pick it out but it wasn’t but two seconds before the spikes pierced into his hand.

“Ow!” was grunted again, but this time by XI.

The pirate, clueless as ever, didn’t hear. XI began to wipe the small amount of blood onto his white shirt, before realizing that it would bring some questions. Annoyed with his own short sightedness, XI stopped and glanced at the spike-covered ball in its new location of a few footsteps away. Better come back for it later, XI thought.

“Found something!” XI’s partner called.

Rushing over, XI saw the object in question: a small chest. Pushing its discoverer out of the way, XI attempted to open it to no avail. It was locked, as proven by a small keyhole surrounded by a gold emblem that resembled waves.

“Darn it. Oh well! Do you mind picking up my compass? I left it over there in the corner,” XI explained, pointing to the spot where he had found the rusty sword.

“Sure thing!” was the response. While the dimwit searched for the non-existent compass, XI headed over to a plank that he had found earlier. Leaving the hold with chest and plank in arms, XI quickly slammed the door behind him the left the plank on its primitive locking hooks.

“Hey!” a shout came from the hold, “What do you think you’re doing?!”

That’ll teach you for waking me up! XI boasted in his mind, proud of his plan. Just hope you’re bright enough to use that sword to cut your way out and pilot this ship to the fortress.

Ignoring the shouts of his waker, XI soon found himself in pain. Foot pain, to be precise. Something has spiked its way through his poorly-made sandals into his foot. Hoping on one foot, XI looked for his stabber. Glancing over the chest he had accidentally thrown aside, the blue, spike-covered ball became clear.

“Oh,” XI muttered, wincing in pain as his realization came, “How did you get out here?”

So XI picked the ball up and the hand he had used earlier, and tried his best to ignore the pain. Should wear shorts with pockets more often, he thought. Leaving the poor pirate behind, XI managed to make it over the gap between ships without falling into the water. Impressive, considering he was awkwardly shuffling small chest and the skin-impaling ball in his hands.

“Okay, crew!” XI shouted obnoxiously, “I assume everyone got over, right?” Not waiting for an answer, he continued. “Okay, let’s get back home!”

“But what about-“ a crew member started.

“Him? We decided he would pilot the ship back home after getting over a hurdle or two,” XI grinned.

Carrying the chest and ball to the bedroom, he left them both down on his bed. Beginning to lick his hand free of blood, XI couldn’t help but feel proud of himself for his simple yet effective plan. Hopefully no one would hold too much of a grudge against him later when everything came clear.

A familiar lurch and fall to the floor symbolized the ship’s departure, leaving the Namor behind.

Cap'n Button was relieved to see XI climb back aboard the ship, telling everyone to start back home. He shouted orders because that's what he was supposed to and the ship began moving towards the Forsaken Fortress. His gaze followed XI as the boy entered his cabin. Then he noticed that he was holding some objects in his hands, and went after him.

As he entered he made sure that the crew were doing their duty and the others distracted, then he turned to XI.

"What took ye so long? What were you doin' on the Namor?" asked Cap'n Button.

XI pushed his findings under the sheets of his bed in the blink of an eye. "Wha? Nothing suspicious! He wanted to pilot it back!" XI shouted hurriedly in all of three seconds. He pushed Button out the door with all his might. “Want to take a nap, I got woken up so violently I feel like rest!” XI excused himself. The door slammed with a loud bang.

This will end up badly. Not only have I abandoned another, I directly disobeyed orders. Steel will be incredibly mad at me, maybe even lose his calm disposition for once. Wait, what am I thinking? This is Steel! He couldn’t beat up a fly. I have nothing to worry about. XI thought.

Grinning, he flopped himself onto his bed.

“Ow!” two voices cried.

XI fell onto the floor. The stupid spike ball had hurt him once again. Glancing over to the bed, he saw the sheets now had tiny holes in them where spikes poked through. Feeling around his back, XI felt the sticky liquid of blood tingle around his fingers. His bare back had been impaled, there was no slight cushion of shirt. Now mad at this ball, he regretted taking it anyway.

XI left the room to go get some water to clean and hopefully disinfect his small wounds. Who knows how many germs or poisons this devil ball carried? Oh no, I'm going to have to explain things to Button... XI thought.

The moment the cabin door closed, the ball rolled off XI’s bed. "The nerve of that boy, constantly falling onto me", it said.

The pirate vessel had finnally started its course towards the Forsaken Fortress. A couple of hours had passed and time seemed to be staying still in the ship. Germanlink looked around and saw everyone off doing their own things, some pirates were off tending to the sails, some were cleaning the upper decks, and the rest were probably off doing things to keep themselves busy such as playing cards or sleeping or such.

Germanlink was in the quarterdeck, looking out to the sea and turned around every once in a while to see if anything had changed at all in the ship. Everytime he did so, things were always the same, Motoko laying on Kitsune's lap and Kitsune seeming very relaxed, Gabriel was at the bow of the ship and Ayden was resting by the crow's nest.

Germanlink started to get bored and decided to walk over quietly to Kitsune, "Hey Kitsune, what exactly ARE we gonna do once we reach the fortress? We might wanna think of a plan right now, just in case something goes wrong. After all, once we reach the fortress these guys might turn on us, and there's no way we can outmatch the entire fortress." Germanlink spoke softly trying not to wake Motoko.

After setting sail, Lena heard what Germanlink was asking Kitsune. She wanted to know these plans also. She walked over to the two of them, seeing that he was talking silently because of Motoko. After she found out, she would probably settle for going into the ships chambers and doing a little bit of meditating.

"Isn't it obvious?" Gabriel said as she walked over to the group. "We ask very little of them and try to stay out of their way while we look for the entrance to the Kaze-Dao's cavern."

"But Gabriel, Won't they be looking for the Kaze-Dao also?" She said, also trying not to be too loud around Motoko.

"I know how they are. They're going to want to know why a couple of outsiders are doing there and might follow us if they're not already busy with something."

"Keh, they have no intrest in the Kaze dao." Said Kitsune interrupting them.

"This is a trap. I know it. We should just see when the time comes..."

Still getting weird looks from the crew, Kitsune turned around and added one last phrase:

"...and i get the sword! Keh!" He added hoping they wouldnt think he changed anyway in attitude...

He returned to his seat...

____________________

Perseus was having bad dreams. Darkness filled his mind, as he felt himself trapped inside his own head with the horror… that was something he hated too, being trapped… being contained, controlled. He detested it, it only reminded him of one thing. Six months of morbid torture under the hands of Laz…
The dream continued. Demons flew across his consciousness as he tried to break free…

He woke. But the dream continued. He was trapped, held down by chains, his wings strapped to the floor with thick leather. His pride pinned to the ground with his body.

Perseus realised he was entirely conscious, and he started to struggle and writhe. But it was no use, the chains were too thick.
He stopped and got a hold of himself, and quickly took stock of his surroundings.
He was in a small thin space, lying down flat, and he seemed to be staring up at wood surface, which was supported by various beams coming out of the floor.
He realised that there was something odd about his surroundings… he concentrated intently… he was rocking! There seemed to be some sort of up and down motion swaying the room he was in.
Then he realised.
A boat!” He thought gleefully “I am in a boat! But where in the boat?”
he looked around and figured he must be underneath the cargo hold, for there was no other place he could be concealed thus, without coming in contact with any of the crew.

He suddenly started to panic again.
How can I possibly get out of here? What if I’m being taken back to Laz to be executed for my rebellion?

That’s when he heard it. it was a banging noise, a thumping and crashing. It sounded like someone struggling to stand up. And it was coming from above him.
He suddenly heard a muffled voice:

“Why doesn’t this damn thing open! I’ve tried everything, that damn XI leaving me here to rot! What does he take me for? An idiot? And what’s this sword for? A choice to end my life?”

Who was this lunatic and why was he trapped inside the hold inside a ship of a possible 100 man crew?

I wonder… was he the man who trapped me? Who imprisoned me and left me to die? Cos…

Then the anger started. Perseus was angry that he was trapped, he was angry that he had been drugged and dragged off by who-knows-who and left in this ship to die. He was angry at this man. Rage filled his heart as he felt the cold bite of the chains, the cramping of his wings for being so restricted… and the hunger of days without food…

Cos… I am going to kill him.

He started to strain against his bindings, his powerful wings stretching the leather to its limit as he pushed.

The sailor was still trying to break open the door with no avail, kicking it, scratching it, ramming it with barrels. But nothing worked, it was too strong for him. And being the uneducated idiot that he was, he had no idea what the role of the sword was, or why he was given it.

CRACK!

Suddenly a huge form exploded through the floor, sending splinters flying everywhere. The sailor shielded his face as Perseus slowly flapped to the ground, the chains still attached to his hands, and broken wood hanging from their ends.
Bloodlust filled his eyes as he faced the unfortunate sailor. “You!” he pointed, “you die!” he dived forward, barely giving the man enough to time to pick up his sword and try and defend himself. But it didn’t matter.
Perseus hit him with the force and speed of a juggernaut, sending him flying through the wall, and up and outside into the night sky…
Perseus held onto the sailor, flying swiftly up and away from the Namor, until he reached the clouds.
He kept flying up, twisted determination and the lust for revenge filling his eyes.
He stopped suddenly.
The sea was now out of sight, blanketed by a huge layer of clouds, and pure distance.

Perseus let go.
Screams filled the night sky as the sailor fell, swiftly travelling to his doom, and only for the peace of one troubled mind.

Perseus flew back to the boat, and found some blacksmiths tools, immediately using them to break away his chains.

He set the ship alight and flew off. Leaving his former prison to crumble in ash.

Flying all night he eventually reached another ship, sailing due west.
It was the morning and the crew and everyone else were just waking up, all emerging onto the deck to begin the days duties.
Perseus dived down to the deck and landed in the middle,
“Who’s in charge here?”

Gabriel woke up feeling very refreshed. It was the first full night she slept through without having to worry about Motoko's safety. As she sat up on the bed, she sensed an odd presence. Grabbing her hammer and placing it in the harnass on her back, she ran onto the deck and saw an angelic-looking man.
This cannot be good... she thought

(ooc: are you sure he landed on this ship? >>)

He heard a voice. A simple, yet demanding, voice, which he hadnt heard on this ship before.

"Whos in charge here?" He heard, which somewhat hurt his ears for some reason.

Kitsune couldnt care more about whoever that was. But he would have to intervene if the visitor meant harm to the ship.

Looking away, he realized that it was becoming morning, he had been mediating for a bit to long.

Lena had also felt refreshed. She had meditated to herself in her chambers for most of the night, and then fell asleep.

Now it was morning. The sun peaked through the small port hole windows of the ship and as she crept out of bed. She also felt a wierd presence. Not evil, but pure...? She quickly put on her clothes and ran up the stairs to find Gabriel with a man standing there at the back of the ship. He looked almost serene, angelic in fact. She felt warmth come from him as the sun shone above them in the east.

"Are you...?"She said, slowly walking over to him, almost feeling lost in the warmth she felt. It was if her spiritual powers went ten-fold.

Kitsune's train of thought was broken once a drop of water had hit his nose.

He looked up to see dark clouds, covering the newly-rising sun in the distance.

Rain...at dawn. Keh, thats rather depressing...

It began raining heavier now, but he didnt care, he just wanted to see the sun again.

But, Motoko who was sitting on his left, was shivering in her sleep.

Kitsune removed his upper clothing, and put it on Motoko, and she stopped shivering. He was using his tail to shield her head from the oncoming rain, so she wouldnt wake up. Even without his shirt(s), his half demonic blood would probably keep him warm.

Once again, as silent as he was since the beggining of his mediation, he went back to staring out at sea.

"What in the world?..." Germanlink was awoken by a cold shower of rain, he was right on the crows nest along with another pirate he had befriended the night before. He looked down at the deck and found a man with very large wings standing in front of Gabriel and Lena. Germanlink saw Lena approach the man and Gabriel then holding her back, this meant the angel was probably not friendly.

"Stay here", Germanlink said to the pirate as he jumped off the crows nest. He then used his wind arts to glide right next to Gabriel and Lena.

"Hey Gabriel, do you have any idea who the hell this guy is?"

XI awoke with a start.

Again.

This sudden arousing was trigged by a nightmare. Again. Unlike the other night’s dream, XI just couldn’t place his finger on what exactly the dream was. Laying on his back and breathing deeply, he remembered something about falling a long way and that the experience was mortifying, but no specific details. Unaware of his newest victim’s ill fate, XI closed his eyes and began to think about nothing unparticular. The soft pitter-patter of drops indicated light rainfall.

Good,, XI thought, Water’s a sign of peace. Or was it confusion…? Doesn’t matter, all that’s crap that sensitive people make up to make themselves feel smart, went by in XI’s mind as he drifted back to dream land. XI loved rain at night, it always clamed him. The rushing of water allowed to him to feel excited yet soothed at the same time. Rain represented peace in XI’s mind, despite what anyone else said. Tranquility-

“Snoooooor!” a booming snore roared.

If XI’s eyes were open, the rolling pupils under the lids could have been spotted by even the most oblivious of body language. Living with pirate men wasn’t the most luxurious life in existence. The constant snoring, for instance, was one of the more annoying habits among them. Perhaps as a way of getting back at XI for annoying them during the daytime, nighttime always consisted of loud grunts and snorts whenever XI slept in the same room with others in the community. Other males, anyway. XI wish terribly to know what it was like waking up with a female in the room, preferably in the same bed as him.

“Ghooooor!”

The snoring brought a more comfortable subject to mind than raindrops. XI’s mind wandered onto the thought of XI’s discoveries from the Namor. The chest rested under XI’s bunk, crudely covered by a dirty blanket. Fortunately, none of the buccaneers on board were smart enough to think of even that simple of a hiding place. Except Button, who still hadn’t come to XI about his odd behavior yesterday. Why not was unknown. Then a bizarre thought struck him.

Oh, he better not think I’m doing that, XI groaned in the safety of his own mind.

Ignoring the idea of Button thinking of anything like that, XI reminded himself about the “devil ball”. It had somehow disappeared during a trek to the washroom; XI presumed one of the idiots mistook it for a shiny object and took it. The thought of one his temporary roommates stupidly hurting themselves on something as obviously dangerous to touch like a ball with spikes on it amused XI to no end. Flashbacks of his own slices followed this thought. Also ignoring the irony, XI made a small sigh of relief over the fact that the blue ball wouldn’t harm him again.

A few spikes stuck through XI’s chest.

XI didn’t say anything, but his face certainly made the motion of screeching in pain. Quickly rising up into a sitting position, a small mammal fell off XI’s chest and into his sheet-covered lap. It was relatively small hedgehog, with blue spines. Surprise and morning slowness left XI speechless. Obviously as shocked as XI was, the hedgehog jumped off the bunk and dashed to a small hole in the wall in the blink of an eye.

XI continued to sit dumb for a moment, then put his hands over his chest. It was only small puncture wounds the hedgehog left, nothing like what the ball with blue spikes had left. “Man, that thing ran fast,” XI whispered. Still a bit confused, he began to wonder on the hedgehog’s odd form. It was blue, as blue as the spike ball had been. Running theories through his head, XI came to a conclusion.

That hedgehog must have been choking to death! Good thing I burst to life like that and probably let it catch its breath, was the best XI could come up with.

In a cranny in the cabin wall, the hedgehog rolled itself into a ball for comfort. Okay, sleeping on Stupid Boy, no matter how comfortable, is a bad idea, he thought.

Before too long, XI was out onto the deck in nothing but the boxer shorts worn to bed in. The cold rain came as a bit of a surprise when he first stepped out of shade, but it wasn’t really too much of a bother. The structure of the carrier provided two decks, the top overlooking the bottom from a few meters up. Looking over the rail to the lower deck, XI encountered yet another surprise. This time it was the figure of Perseus being approached by a few members of the group of the Namor.

XI immediately looked up to the crow’s nest and carved his face as to say, “What the hell?” Unsure of whether or not he was noticed, XI watched the new situation for a few seconds before heading and going down one of the two staircases that connected the two decks.

“I’ll tell ya who he is, Germanlink,” XI interrupted, remembering a few names from the previous day, “Unless those wings actually work somehow, he’s a stowaway, coming out to slit our throats and take our ship. That’s low, thieving from thieves. Because in case you haven’t noticed, dipstick, that’s a Lalvican flag up there. We’re pirates, and we’ll kick your ass. Oh… and I’m in charge here, bud.”

XI took a moment to look around at all the people nearby older than him.

“I guess…”

“Unless those wings actually work somehow, he’s a stowaway, coming out to slit our throats and take our ship. That’s low, thieving from thieves.

Kitsune heard these words in his fox ears, despite all the thunder sounds, rain, and the wind.

Hearing this, without getting out of his mediation, he readied his sword just in case his intention really was to take the ship...

Ayden awoke as the din of activity slowly grew louder. He sighed as their group seemed destined to be interrupted by every little thing no matter what they did. His complaints remained silent as he walked over to where Kitsune was preparing for battle.

Knowing the half-demon wasn't quite set on attacking, Ayden stood, facing the winged creature and raised a hand to him, simply another sign discouraging a fight.

"I am not here to fight," said Perseus, "as you can see I have been flying all night... I am exhausted. I just want a few answers, and then I will be on my way."

The crew gazed at him quizzically, especially at his wings. He hated that.
He wasn’t an animal, and the thought of being treated like one was not to him an option. He became almost angry again, who did they think they were?
He stared across the strange group of assorted individuals. Then he saw a strange girl walking towards him. She looked like she was from the mountains but he couldn’t be sure. He was almost instantly calmed at her presence… it was as if a force was flowing through into him… refreshing his very soul.

“Are you…?”

Perseus was confused.
“I don’t know who you think I am. But I am wondering if on this voyage your ship has encountered another ship some 40 leagues away from here? I was being held prisoner there.”

Through the entirety of his question he was staring at Lena.
He couldn’t help it.

"Keh. That was our ship. Until our captain got abducted." Kitsune said in a very straightforward and serious tone. and I let that happen...I remember now...Ill have to rescue Ken while im there...

Before Perseus could say anything, Kitsune added: "We stole the ship from the docks back at that port town. So we have nothing to do with how or why you got there. Got it?" Seeing Gabriel's eyes on him, Kitsune decided to calm down a bit.

He got his hands off of the sword handle, nodding to show that he was not going to harm Perseus.

This angelic man kept staring at her as he spoke. She didn't mind it, since his presence made her feel warmth even though it was pouring rain and thunder out where they were. She brushed a few wet strands of her hair out of her face.

"...Never mind, forget what I said," She said afterward Kitsune took his hands off of his sword.

"I just thought you were someone from....nevermind." Lena then walked to stand beside Gabriel. Hopefully he isn't here to hurt us, and not be one of the fallen angels...she thought to herself.

As if sensing Kitsune's actions, Motoko awakened. "......huh...? What's going on....?"
