WELL DUH. OF course I'm praying for a job. I'm trying to get a job at publix. If I raise the money in a matter of months I consider that a miracle. A miracle for that job.

Huh. Funny cos earlier you said:

I'm not asking for money for this computer. I'm asking for a miracle which means in any way.
Like if I somehow was a selected winner. Or even if I somehow did get the money that would be nice. Just anyway would be nice.

Basically that's like expecting God to plop it right on your lap without any effort at all. Oh and getting a job and raising money wouldn't be a miracle. Thousands of people do it all the time. It's called having a life. The only way it would be a miracle is if you had some sort of... shortcoming that prohibits you from holding a normal job.

Yes and hes going to provide a computer someday for me. Look it's not a bad thing. God loves providing peoples needs.

Edit: ..... Well Soap money would help me out yes. Well just anything I'm saying. And also didn't I just say it would be a miracle if I got a job? Not the money.

Yeah. You might NEED a computer to do some homework research, that I can see. But a crappy low-end computer can accomplish that. And you can find those at libraries. For no cost, even. Otherwise, you WANT the kickarse one. Don't know what your exact reasons are, but it probably isn't for research.

And computers are not the only way to research. Libraries were originally made for books, not computers. Pen and paper still exists. Now, obviously you don't have to go to these measures because you already have a computer...obviously.

But a new one is not something you NEED.

Of course I don't need to worry about them. Just as much as you don't need this bloody computer.

If you're gonna pray, make it something worthwhile, which is how it's supposed to work in the first place. If you've got a heart condition, pray to get through it. If you are dying, pray for strength. If someone has died, pray that they are in His care. If you need a new computer, go and buy one, or save up.

Any many schools have computer labs. As do public libraries. If need be, get with a friend and buy the computer together split the cost. God may know that you FEEL that you need it but it doesn't neccesarily mean that he neccesarily feels the same as you. Reading your posts though, I can see why it would be a miracle for you to hold a job.

It is called rebuttal. It is what these forums are for. If you have an opinion you want to express, expect it to be argued against.

If you wanna be able to stand things, do not take it to heart that people do not see your absolute truth as their own. Truth is fragile and subject to individual opinion.

Okay, I'm gonna be as impartial as possible (okay, maybe not, but more so than some people here) because Bond asked me to come in here, and look at both sides of..what all's the topic in this last page.

On the one hand: I do find it incredibly selfish to say "I'm going to pray to God that I get something". Pray to God for health, for safety, and for others to have the things that they need. You do NOT pray to God for your own gain, when there are people in this world who only have a handful of rice to survive on each day. You ask Santa for gifts. You ask God to give you what is necessary to survive and be happy, and for wisdom. I'm not saying that you're a terrible human being- just that you might want to get your priorities straight. Pray for a job to support your needs and wants, because a job can also help raise money for clothing, food, and eventually college. God works in mysterious ways, not ways that guarentee that you'll get the exact things that you ask for.

On the other hand:

Reading your posts though, I can see why it would be a miracle for you to hold a job.

In what way did you find that sentence to be appropriate? This is a discussion about people's feelings on faith, NOT a conversation in which members are meant to bash one another, especially on subjects that have NOTHING to do with the topic. That was not a rebuttal. How you feel about members is your own business, but don't just insult their intelligence or abilities for the heck of it. Yes, he'll have trouble getting a job because he's 14, not necessarily because of his feelings about social or religious matters.

Nobody's taking your opinions away. We don't have the power to. We, however, have the ability to have an opinion that says 'you're wrong, boyo.' Sorry, man, it's how Contro works. Just like how you can say an atheist is wrong for not believing in god. The atheist won't like the comment, sure, but hey, it's the debate section.

Well I'll give a big reason why I need the computer.

If you really knew how things go on in my family...... This PC here is infected everything you could think of. 3 other members of the family also need to get on here. They are on for a good portion of the day when I'm supposed to be doing my schooling.<_< I don't want to fail!

Virus protection, internet security, and firewall protection are good things.

And dude, for the cost of a Dell computer, you could have two brand spanking new ones just as good. The only thing they're missing is "Dell". Build one yourself, you'll come out with more change in your pocket.

I don't know how to make one. We don't know any friends who could really make one. But anyway I'm still praying for that job.

But please, please don't just pray for a job so that you will get money just to get a computer o_o

When in doubt, reformat. Most people have to do it at least once in their computer lifetime. I've had to do it... about five thousand times. I've gotten good at reinstalling all my software in a timely fashion.

And if you're just looking for an extra computer to browse on (although you seem to be at LA a lot), then a top of the line ultra expensive thing probably shouldn't be your choice. A medium powered computer would be your best bet. Hell, even a really cheap basic one. Unless you're doing stuff like video editing and the like. The ultra computer would be good for like... gaming.

But this is about prayer and faith, not how to keep your computer from crapping out or shopping tips. *wanders off* x.o

You see...he wants one for his work files..... and, personaly, i think it's no ones bussines to know why he wants one.....if he has faith that he's gonna get one, and prays to the Lord who controlls everything....then, the Lord might just do a miracle....

For example, I have faith i'm gonna get a Revolution, I pray about it....but thats not the only thing i pray about...no...in the country where i live, a lot of people are poor....you see tons and tons of poor people every day in the streets....and i pray about them...God has a reason why they are poor...he also has a reason why he has put me here, where i am to tell these people that there is somthing more than wanting money....i dont like money...you can buy things with it, but not happines....and i'm happy, coz i have faith in the Lord my God

Well, this plan doesn't seem to be working.

But, I can't exactly prove you wrong can I. You wanna know my scoop?

God HAD a plan. That was Jesus. His plan has been played out, and he gave us a second chance. Now it is up to us. He didn't make people poor, he didn't make them rich. That is not part of a plan, that is just life. He set everything up, and now it is up to us to live it right.

Exacly...it's our choice....we choose to live right...but the "right" to some people can become a "wrong"...why...because they dont have FAITH in GOD...thats why.... people are poor, coz they are living the consecuences (spelling?) of the wrong things their ancestors did.....if we could all just have faith, then everything will go right...i'm not saying people will no longer be poor, but they will not suffer for eternity once they die
