Yes, we'd much rather listen to 50-Cent's latest single "Smack my ho 'till she bleeds on my dick."

In all fairness, I say again: rock can be just as bad.

And most of the good stuff was written by those heathen hippies, at that! ;)

Yeah, even Rite of Spring was incredibly controversial when it came out (I mean come on.. it caused a riot), and it doesn't even have any words. Controversy over music/ "omg [insert type of music here] is immoral" is definitely nothing new.

If you want to look at it another way, the only really controvertial music out there is Christian Rock. All of the amoral bullshit has been accepted by society as a whole, so the only thing left to controversy is those holding onto their morals.

Just wanted to bring up a new perspetive.

Results 1 - 10 of about 30,400 for "rap Music sucks". (0.13 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,250 for "Christian Music sucks". (1.05 seconds)

Naaaw, I think the Christian folk got it easier. I've never really heard anyone outright 'bash' Christian rock or Christian music before. I know people who claim it's too mellow, but that's about the extent of it.

But what about Christian Gangsta Rap? ;)

Technically you are only looking at a certain type of person to barge online and say that rap or Christian music sucks, Lena. It makes sense that a "nerd" will come online and say he hates rap music rather than saying he hates Christian music.

Vazor, other than the fact that you hate rap for it's amorality... is there anything else you dislike about it? For instance, if I found an amoral rap song, is there a possibility you'd enjoy it?

No, no, the most practical reason is that and the fact rap i's simply awful. It hurts my ears whenever it's on. I have never heard any "good rap" (ooh, oxymoron!). It literally requires no talent to rap; believe me, I've seen it done by people without any talent. It baffles my mind that people enjoy it, similar the way people enjoy reality TV; it's completely awful, but nobody seems to care.

Oh, Vazor. You silly pile of pancakes. How you love to insult a genre. How you love to bring other topics such as the reality show topic to rap and how much it sucks. Oh, how you remind me so much of my mother. ^_^

Your mother and I are one in the same.

What's wrong with comparing the two? All the reality shows are filled with rap and hip hop, and the people on the majority of them just happen to be the same people who follow the rap/hip hop "culture." Neither requires talent; I don't see the problem with comparing the two.

Honestly, rap hurts my ears as much as it morally disgusts me. It makes me cringe.

Or the Star Wars rap songs that have been made. I don't mind those. Some of it's all right. ;)

And reality shows are filled with rap? o.O

I thought Survivor was filled with like... rats and some catfights. And some tribal singing.

And for something that 'requires no talent', I certainly find it difficult to make rhyming phrases off the top of my head while saying them in some kind of beat. Hell, I find it difficult to make rhyming phrases with a paper and pencil and fifteen spare minutes. Those who can do it on the spot and with ease are faar from talentless. I admire 'em for that, at least. Granted, most of the lyrics aren't all that nice, but eh. I'm morbid and decadent. It works. For me, it's mainly the grammar issue, and just the fact that I don't like how it sounds. XP

I like Tupac and Gangstarr. That's it. Cos they don't talk about how damn awesome they are constantly, and how hardass they are. They have stories to tell. Which is what rap was originally; ballads.

Well what about modern clasical music by people like Dvorak? Surely that's classical too.

In America it is called the First Amendment. What a terrible idea THAT was, huh?

I love how no matter how vile, immoral, and vulgar a rap song is, the artist always credits and thanks God (or Jesus/Allah/Santa) for helping it win a grammy.

Oh, and Bond. Some of your remarks in this thread have been downright rediculous. I suggest doing a little learning before trying to hold a serious discussion about things like this.

Its really sad how some artists are making there music these days with the swearing, and sexual references. The most where it goes bad is Rap, R&B, and Pop. Some of the things I'm hearing these days I can't believe. Even if they play the censored songs on the radio it's still almost as bad. I tell ya the music these days could really be affecting the children. Its really sad how the governments allow this.

I want to hear your opinions about this.

I can hardly believe you're a teenager. You sound like a crotchety old man.

And that's my opinion.
