They would if they grew up being ostracized by the other kids because they were gay. But that is neither nor there. I don't think Link is gay. I think there is an attraction between him and Sheik but that's only because he helped Link all those times but Link never even got a chance to learn his name. Also, it could just be that Sheik's really Zelda, which further proves that, even as a guy, Link is still attracted to Zelda. It's just meant to be.

Well, what I was saying with Shiek was that I actually thought Shiek WAS a woman, up until the point when Ruto confirms she's a he. I mean, realy, he may not have been very busty, but he had very girly looking hips and there were, IMO, sexual undercurrents to some of their exchanges like the Bolero of Fire.

As for poor Link and his feelings for Shiek - the kid goes from being (roughly) 10 to 17 in a matter of moments (for him), completely skips over puberty and then finds himself with a very feminine young man who keeps playing sexually suggestive music to him - Link must have been VERY relieved when he found out Shiek was actually Zelda (or very dissapointed, but I'm not going to go there )

Well, tWW Link is said to be the same age as the Hero, and heis age was given as 12 in an interview - it's not really a big issue how old young Link was, that's why I said 'roughly 10'

Maybe that's just you. I think there's an attraction between them but only because Sheik is really Zelda and I think that Zelda is the only one for Link. IMO.

I'd say 11. Twelve is stretching it. But TWW Link looks around the same size as Child Link from OoT so I'd say OoT Link was about to turn 12 when OoT happened but didn't celebrate his birthday because Kokiri's don't celebrate such things. Probably. I read somewhere that 12 is the last year of a child's innocence. Maybe that's what the Great Deku Tree meant by a him being too big to live in the forest anymore.

One thing that's always bugged me: Why the hell did they go back to the "Hylian Velcro?" I thought MM was making great progress by giving kid Link a shoulder-strap.

The Bolero of Fire, especially the way it rapidly intercuts between Shiek and Link while the music builds to a crescendo, plus the fact that, like I've said before, I was under the impression that Shiek was just ment to be a woman and so was more readily susceptable to reading sexual subtext into the situation.

The way some of the other songs were staged was a bit 'romantic' seeming as well, but I don't really remeber which ones anymore...
