It could very well be a very last ditch effort to make Mewtwo more relevant as a legendary pokémon. Still, I can't say I'm not intrigued.

Mewtwo will always have the notability of being the first uber and "ultimate" Legendary Pokemon, and still has infamy for being so broken, even moreso then other Psychics that they had to change a good portion of the game's balancing just to make him reasonable. Even then, any new player nowadays who goes in and only hears about how he's been nerfed and thinks nothing of him will probably get murdered unless s/he's lucky. He's also the star of the first movie, and like I said, it seemed like Genesect was specifically designed to be the anti-Mewtwo. While that doesn't actually mean anything in the game itself since anyone can be beaten with a good strategy, for the segregated storyline and certainly the anime itself that always seemed like it was meant to be something big. The next movie starring Genesect as the bad guy seemed like that was it, but that last trailer showing Mewtwo appearing as the protagonist pretty much cinched it.

So giving him a new form, while it may not make any sense in the actual gameplay, is a pretty reasonable outcome for the overall story, especially given the whole love for power-ups Japan has in anime, games, tokusatsu, etc.

....still have no idea why moving his tail to his head is an upgrade though.

Why bother getting a new form to battle Genesect when it could just learn Hidden Power Fire?

Seems... I don't know, interesting, anyway. Not sure Mewtwo really needs a change, but hey. Or Gamefreak could really mess with us by making this a Mew evo and a Mewtwo prevo.

I've thought about it being a Mew evo, but haven't thought about a Metwo prevo since Mewtwo is artificial.

Stop. Stop right there. Pokémon and fusion are not a good idea, this shit is already too complicated as it is.

Yup.

Cute how they keep up the act like no one already knew.

This is presumably an early clip from the new movie, but it's basic enough to just be a random bit of animation they had OLM do for them.

Considering how powerful Mewtwo already is, is this bugger going to count as a "Forme" and have shuffled stats with a similar base total?

Yes.

Question is how they redistribute them; pumping more into attack/special attack/speed at the cost of defence just leaves you with a Deoxys clone, and making it more defensive just gives a Deoxys-D! Well, kinda. Perhaps it'll get a new typing? I suppose a new ability could be the best thing to come out of it; Pressure and Unnerve are both a little underwhelming. If it had something like Sheer Force, Prankster, Download... Well, it could make it much better.

May 8th to 31st there'll be a Deoxys giveaway over wifi. Finally I'll be able to complete a Pokedex! Deoxys is the only one I've never owned.

New video featuring four new pokemon:

Personally, I'm really liking Gogoat (the grass type ram pokemon).

Edit: Oh yeah, and some small degree of player customization, such as skin and hair color, has been confirmed for XY.

Nifty. The riding mechanic looks neat. I hope it's... faster, though.

Maybe you can ride other suitably large Pokemon as well? Otherwise it kinda seems like something to use if you want to use streets. Looking good though.

I'd imagine that there may be faster Pokemon to ride. I mean, it is a goat.

I don't find Dorkly funny too often, but I thought I'd share this.

I'd also like to grumble that I don't fit anywhere on this chart. Maybe a cross between 2 and 3.

Presumably the ride mechanic isn't unique to Gogoat... So, maybe it's an HM or something? Maybe we can ride things like Rapidash, Dodrio, etc...

So hey, they'll probably talk about this tonight at the Pokemon event, but new type confirmed....Fairy.

The new Eeveelution Sylveon fits in, and Marill, Gardevoir, and Jigglypuff (and presumably their pre-evos and evos) will be moved into it. Strong against Dragon, and that's all we know for sure right now. All righty, Dragons needed to be given a new weakness.

I see a lot of Normal types being reclassed this generation. It'll be fun to learn the new addition to the type chart.  :D

This is a good thing, because there are a crapload of Normal types, and that's such a boring crutch for designers. :P

Hmm...guesses for other potential fairy retypes:

Clefairy (duh)

Audino

Maybe Togepi, with Fairy/Flying evolutions.
