Hmmm, wonder if they'll "cheat" and just have you board a boat to Solstheim or if they'll let you physically travel over there since it's not that far off the coast of Skyrim.

Not that it matters to me with the whole no PS3 DLC thing on top of my console being temporarily out of service, but still it's nice to see this one looks a bit more substantial then Dawnguard.

I am a bad person? I'm still in Whiterun, messing around doing a few quests and whatnot. I've joined the Companions, too. Then I decided to go on a random killing spree for a bit, because hey, I can always reload. Chopped up a few innocent people in Whiterun, then the guards were killing me, so I ran to Jorvaskr (or however you pronounce it). The rest of the Companions, seeing I was under attack, drew their swords and attacked the Whiterun guards. Now the townsfolk I hadn't killed already were obviously helping the guards, so we ended up with a pitched battle on the streets of Whiterun with the Companions against the townsfolk and guards. Apparently the Skyforge Blacksmith counts as a Companion, because he joined in on their side, even though his wife was on the other side. It was pretty funny. The Companions won fairly easily - though of course the children of Whiterun are indestructible. So we ended up with the Companions chasing the children around, hacking away at them and shouting how they were the weakest enemies they'd ever faced.

Also, my horse is awesome. She even runs up and attacks dragons for me (well, I've only fought once dragon since I got her, but she was right up there stomping away at it). I haven't seen her get killed yet, even though she keeps attacking frost trolls and so on.

I did this exact thing in Oblivion after I figured out that my game was busted (for some odd reason). I started systematically killing the guards one by one in one of the towns by luring them into the Fighter's Guild building and having all the FG guys help me fight them. I then proceeded to decimate the town itself and virtually created my own rebellion against Cyrodiil. Best Oblivion experience ever. I restarted my file because of the game breaking awfulness (which I forgot what it was) in order to start the quest to take Cyrodiil over again, this time going all the way.

Oblivion had mass cache errors that would wipe your 360 hard drive. This after Morrowind chewed up my disc so I rage quitted the fuck out of this series and never came back.

According to game lore, Solstheim was colonized by the Dunmer after the whole fiasco with Red Mountain and Vivec City. So there should be some brand new cities up there - you can briefly see Dunmer buildings in the trailer. Hopefully some existing locations from Bloodmoon will still be there, though. It would be nice to see them in Skyrim-graphics.

Although there is a mod out there that revamps Morrowind with Skyrim's graphic engine, assuming you have both games already installed. There was one for Oblivion's graphics, too, but haven't tried it.

So...finally got this game working again. I'm an Xbox noob despite having owned one for a few years, and I didn't know that you could install games directly to your hard drive. So I rented a copy of Skyrim from the Redbox and installed it, and now I can play Skyrim with my scratched-to-hell disk.

Also, I'm going Imperial.

Installs don't install the game to your hard drive. It just installs information to help the game run and load better and faster. You still need the disc.

Yeah. I've got the game installed too, because fuck the load times, but you'll probably still need a clean disc to play.

As long as it can read the disc enough to initialise the game, it should be fine. From there on it will load and read the game from the hard drive.

I've had a real hankering to play this lately, just haven't had the time to sit down and sink some hours into it. I got Dawnguard but haven't touched it. And I still have to try and beat the glitched invincible Alduin, which should be fixed by now.

I hate choices. I've left the game standing in front of Ulfric for weeks now because I'm not sure if I want to commit to helping him or not. But then, not choosing is itself a choice. Bah, someone tell me what to do...

If you like Ulfric or...Cavius(?) then pick one of their camps. If not, go for the peace option.

Skyrim's pretty much the "same" after the civil war, and both sides are ultimately being manipulated by the Thalmor anyway, so just pick whichever side'll give you the best swag for your character.

Showsni: I would make your choice only after you play the Thalmor Embassy mission. The Thalmor (being the true villains of the tale) have an interesting perspective on the war and its players.

So the PS3 is, as of now, going to eventually get the Dragonborn DLC/Expansion. While I'm not a fan of certain platforms not having access to everything, losing the ability to build a house or hunt vampires isn't too annoying and not that bad. Also having played Oblivion it's nothing new, though still disappointing. Hopefully it won't cause the console to explode into a million pieces like the New Vegas stuff did.

Looks like it also has a specific new enemy type that intentionally hunts you down if you hit the level cap and is a legitimately tough baddie to down.

...and to follow up with a double post of importance, PS3 will finally be getting all three DLC's (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn) in February.

They will all be 50% off the first week, so....dammit, I'm getting them anyway so I guess I'll have to snap them up when they're released.

So fellow PS3 players, cross your figners and hope your console doesn't explode into a massive inferno when you try to go to a new area. Hrmph.

I got Skyrim on the PC for Christmas and it's almost the only game I been playing since. I was told before I got the game that it's less immersive and has less depth than Oblivion, but in terms of the world itself I found it has more, although in some places I can see where it could be improved. Every so often I download a mod to enhance the game and so far had no problems, except for one. I bought Dawnguard when it was on sale and when I tried to play with it loaded, the game crashed. The only way I can think to solve the problem is to start a new character, which is annoying as I played about 70 hours so far.

Fortunately no. Something went wrong when I had the hard drive replaced, and it kept freezing during updates. I'm still waiting on a call back from the repair shop, since I wanted to know if there was something wrong with the system or the hard drive I bought for it, since they took it out and replaced it with a 40G. Either way, it works fine now.

According to the Playstation Blog, Dawnguard and Dragonborn will be $19.99 and Hearthfire is $4.99. So the one week only sale price will be $9.99 and $2.49, respectively.

Hmm, I pretty much have to get it that week then since I don't know if I'm willing to pay more then $10.00 out of the gate.

Reminder - Dragonborn is now out on PSN. It's half off untill the next update, when it'll go to the "real" price of $19.99.

No time to really play it yet since I'm actually kind of under the weather, but nothing erupted horribly upon boot up so that's a plus!

The triple post of releases, as Dawnguard is now on there, and once more, is 50% off 'till next update. This is the DLC that made Bethesda pause and look at how it affects the PS3, so hopefully it'll go as smoothly as the other two and doesn't turn the game into a mess of electronics and flames.

I also love how just a little over a year later, the game is still giving me amusing stories to tell.

So, you know the cultist who tries to murder you when you hit level 30? Unfortunately for him, Raidant AI sicced him on me while I was in the middle of an Imperial camp since I threw my ring in with them for the civil war.....at the exact same time a Frost Dragon popped up to take me on. Poor fellow, not only did he have the dumb luck of having the dragon decide to focus attention on him, but after I slay the beast, he became the target of 8 - 10 Imperial soldiers and 4 horses. I was busy looting the dragon corpse to even notice he was after me, really, till I noticed all the soldiers in a circle hacking away at something on the ground. Say what you will about the Empire, the troops help one another out.

After paying my fine and getting some better weapons I felt this was getting better. Then something weird happend today I played for 4 hours and OMG I bought a house and this game is amazing. After 3 days I finally found the right way up that damn mtn fuckkkk.

After I finally got all of the DLC, I decided to go ahead and recreate my Argonian warrior thief. I've pretty much caught up to where I was last time, killed the first dragon and was summoned by the grey beards, except this time I adopted the orphan girl in Whiterun (I think this was added by one of the DLC's since I don't remember seeing her at all in my last file.) Now I'm just wandering around aimlessly, looting whatever I can find, as I was before. ;d
