Sarcasm -_-

I liked the gorons and zora, but my favorite was dekus because they can burrow :3 I think they should visit more dekus in a new game

Aren't the main enemies in TP moblins? ya know the little skinny bastards?

Maybe i'm just misinformed.

Zant's invasion cutscene? Plus, are there really any kids who will see a completely bloodless casualty in something like Zelda and run away from the game screaming?

I see your point here, but again this is not humans killing humans. That i think would be the main issue for me. (unless Link was neutral)

Either would be awesome, if you ask me. The one involving two different lands (and I'm kinda making this up as I go along now) could be the sequel to another game, and it could open with Zelda sending Link to one of the two lands to basically say, "Oy, pack it in, guys." Bullshit ensues, Link has no convenient way of returning to Hyrule or contacting Zelda, and he has to clean up both lands' whoopsies. Just shooting from the hip.

yeah that's exactly what i was thinking, combined with some great new relevant items, it could be a hit.

Another possibility featuring the moblins is that Due to Ganon's absence the Moblins play mercenaries for both sides. This way you can solve Political issues among the humans (humanoids?), but still have hostiles that you can slaughter from either side.
This could make for some interesting fighting dynamics too, such as bigger battles where Moblins are fighting Moblins and you are caught in between. Or maybe if the disguise came into it, Having Moblins as allies against a larger force of enemy Moblins.

I don't wanna make it too dynasty warriors of course, but a few moments like this in game could be really cool.

@ Lena:
This would be a great game if they ever got the balls to make it. Nintendo would have to avoid marketing it to just Girls though. No one would want it becoming the super princess peach of Zelda.
Maybe focusing on Sheik as the main "character" would appeal to a much wider audience. (Regular fans, Regular Gamers and girly-girls who find out that this kickass ninja character is actually a female they can identify with. Every girl likes to see another girl kicking ass.)

This could be a good tangent on that two-character game idea as well. Switching back and forth between Link (with normal Link abilities) and Zelda (with all the abilities Lena gave her) could make for great gameplay if executed well. You could be separate at times, doing different quests in different spots, or together for important bits like dungeons, where you have to help each other. Both of them could have different abilities and weapons that allow different things, and you could combine their abilities to do specialness stuff.
In fact having two dungeons on opposite sides of the map that directly affect each other would be sweet. One for Zelda and one for Link.

Now that i read over it... that idea is already losing its appeal to me. But Nintendo could pull it off if they put a lot of thought into it.

Edit: Nah. Those are Bulbins (the annoying ones that run around with bows and other various weapons), and Bokoblins (the bigger ones with clubs).
Not good enough.

Thanks for pointing that out, JM64.

Yeah, I'm wary of that, too, when all the "huge epic battle" stuff comes up. I have nothing against those things happening, but involving the player and Link in them would shove it a bit too far into that mold, I think. Maybe he could fight a few smaller battles alongside a squad of around five or ten others every so often. Actually, screw it; three others, and they can be controlled by other players. Bam.

Also, "Bulblin."

It would probably be more Zelda-ish if it was a typical enemy infestation of an area... but now with good guys fighting them off around the location, with Link choosing to give assistance as the player wants. And then the enemies would be banished after Link won the area dungeon. Because being forced to participate in an epic battle in the middle of the Field? That would ruin the Zelda theme of:

NPC: "LINK, YOU HAVE TO HELP, OUR CITY IS OVERWHELMED BY THE ENEMY!"
Player: "That's nice. I'm gonna go explore some caves and find rupees in the grass. Keep doing what you're doing until I'm ready to advance the plot."

of course, that sense of freedom has to come with a zelda game or it wouldn't be a zelda game.

This is why I always hated Navi. Constantly telling you what to do. You didn't even have to beat the dungeons in order.

I've always thought the less humanoid races (Goron, Zora) would keep to themselves in this kind of case. The Gerudo and Sheikah should definitely play a part. And in the story, what if after things started getting better for Hyrule, the Moblins made a massive return and ruined everything?

Send out the very incompetent Hylian Knights to challenge them. The Moblins have a slow enough reaction which will give the Knights a chance to attack.

As for the Gorons and Zoras: they'd probably take up arms if needed to defend themselves.

Yeah but theres multitudes you can use for a sig. What I really want is for zelda OoT and MM to be remade for the dsi, the c stick can be the bottom screen, and you could maybe have it be the mini map and use it for moving and have the d pad be c stick, either way would be good. What do you think?

*covers face* Minish cap needs a sequel for the ds, it should make use of items long forgotten like the ladder or raft, but what they should really bring is the magnetic gloves, north and south, it would be awesome and have same features of the jar, only its advanced with two different ways to use it, any thoughts on that? maybe it could connect to the new zelda game coming for the wii to unlock some new areas/items?

I've been disappointed in the lack of Wii to DS interaction. I thought at least games like Animal Crossing or Metroid Prime would do so. But not so much.

The ladder and raft were both used in the 1995 Zelda game; and the walk on water boots!

A problem with reusing transformation masks is that it may seem like a blatant copy of the MM system.

Of course, that doesn't stop MM fans who're obsessed with "preserving" the game from begging for a sequel that's exactly the same.

How about the fact that that was just a one-game gimmick? Not knocking it for that; in fact, the one-game gimmicks are pretty much all there is to differentiate anymore. Those aren't the problem. The problem is... well, that those are pretty much all there is to differentiate anymore.

Video games and movies only need to be remade if there's something wrong with the originals.

Also, 9 remakes out of 10 still manage to be worse than their originals.
