You're not perfect; it would be absolutely retarded, not to mention boring, if you were. :)

I just consider 'bitchiness' to be an element of perfection. XP

As for the basic topic... I don't consider a 2D/3D split to be acceptable in principle or otherwise. It's not really worth discussing. There's no need to relegate the original main games in the series to some sort of 'sub-timeline' just because of technological advancements. OoT always made clear reference to the previous games in the series, and ignoring that is silly.

It doesn't happen for Metroid, for example. Or any other series that I know of. So why should it occur in Zelda? It's almost as bad as using the Gametrailer's timeline. And that's bad.

OoT Link is the same one from the original TLoZ!

...WHAT. Shut up, Gametrailers.

The only real argument I see in favor of splitting off the 2D games from the main timeline is that:

1) they've been ignored since OoT, with the exception of FSA's references to ALttP;
2) most of the main plot ideas used in the original four have appeared in more recent games (LoZ's Triforce hunt and AoL's naming tradition in TWW; transforming Dark World/Ganon puppet from ALttP in TP; Link washing up on an unfamiliar island from LA in PH)

That's really no reason to split them off, though.

I just have the original four grouped together, because they were originally that way and none of the newer games have even touched them yet. The newer 2-D games could be meant to fit somewhere in the 3-D storyline, but I can't see anything obvious.

...WHAT. Shut up, Gametrailers.

You can't seriously expect someone who isn't as obviously obsessed with Zelda as some of us are to come up with a timeline that makes sense, can you? ;)

What confuses me is that their timeline was perfectly, perfectly acceptable until they ENTIRELY RANDOMLY decided to stick Link's Awakening after Majora's Mask. Then it just got more insane from there, and I stopped watching.

Gametrailers sucks.

 Wow. I just finished watching their entire retrospective, and all I can say is...wow. I mean, WHAT WAS THAT!? the retrospective itself was very good; on caliber with it's other ones, but that timeline...wow. I was just fine until then. I mean, that's worse than mine. That's pulling things completely from NOWHERE! wow.

They pull crap like forgetting FS and doing the whole Miyamoto order thing. And what was with putting TP in the adult timeline? And then they completely forget the IW (they don't attribute it to OoT or any other event) and then put LA right after MM for no reason, ignore the LoZ backstory, and PUT THE ORACLES GAMES IN TWO TIMELINES!! Yeesh.

It's like they completely forgot about the two games being y'know... SEQUELS TO EACH OTHER!

Yeah, well, I can at least explain the TP thing. I guess they stuck to what we were originally told about it; that it went between OoT and TWW. Except that it's more than hinted at if you'd played it that it goes after OoT child ending.

Artuno, you used to be cool.

I love you, Fyxe. But I'll never be as cool as you. XP

Okay, I have deleted all the posts regarding the personal confict between Jumbie and Fyxe, and incidentally, everything that was of-topic, to leave it tidy. Next time you want to stay personal, Jumbie, use PMs, nit spoiler tags.

Everyone, have a good summer ^^
