Perseus was panting, trying to catch his breath. They had been training for 4 days now, working on some new offensive and defensive moves that incorporated Perseus’ wings.
“Rest well Birdy… Tomorrow I am going to teach you a much more complicated move. You are going to need all the energy you can get. You are progressing better than I expected, keep it up.”
Lynx disappeared in a cloud of smoke, her face grinning snidely.
Perseus got up, and walked back down the hall to his room. He needed some sleep.
******
“Rise and shine, little birdy” Lynx was crouched over his sleeping figure grinning evilly at him, “training time!”
Perseus looked up weakly, his face the picture of only 6 hours sleep.
“…Bastard…” he mumbled as he attempted to block her out with his pillow.
She dragged him out of bed to her room, his wings flapping weakly in resistance.
******
They were in the training room again, Perseus now wide awake and geared up for battle.
“Alright, now I want you to fight this warrior that is about to appear, but there is only one way to defeat him, figure it out.”
“But…” he started to say, as she disappeared.
Perseus looked around, looking for his new opponent.
The training room suddenly began to transform. He was now in an armoury type room, with all variety of weapons hanging from every rack and shelf on the wall. There was a large matt covering the entire floor in the middle.
A huge man in armour stepped out onto the matt from nowhere. He pulled out a massive broadsword and charged Perseus, who, caught off his guard, was barely able to dodge the huge blade in time.
Perseus then immediately charged at the exposed back of the giant, his knives in a stabbing motion. Before he could hit the exposed flesh however, the man had somehow spun around faster than Perseus’ eyes could see and blocked the two blades with his own broadsword.
Perseus then continued to hack at what he thought were easy holes in the big man’s defence. But he continued to block them easily, effortlessly, but right at the last minute of Perseus’ every strike.
Damn. This guy is hard. …Wait, I have an idea.
Perseus backed up and circled is opponent confidently, watching his every move.

First off, the one character rule is by no means a new rule. The single character rule was part of the Chronicles since I came up with it. The Chronicles was not meant to replace the RPG where you are allowed characters to your heart's content. The Chronicles was meant to be a sub-section of the RPG; an open world where you interact with it through an avatar. The ONE character is supposed to be an extension of you in this world. Just like you're only allowed one account here on LA, so too are you only allowed one character in the Chronicles world.
The one character rule has been in place since the Chronicles opened and most people don't seem to have a problem with it. These were the rules before you joined. You came in here and so are bound by those rules. If you absolutely cannot live without your second character, wait for the RPGs to re-open until then, the rules have been laid out.
I've tried to take a hands-off approach with the Chronicles, hoping that members would follow the few rules in place in this forum, basic RPG rules and ONE character per person, in the hopes that would stimulate RPGs after the death of the RPG proper. For the most part it's worked. The Chronicles are far more active than the RPG has been in the past year, maybe longer. I've also tried to be lenient; suggesting instead of demanding, for this reason, when rules are so blatantly broken, I have no qualms about taking actual disciplinary action in the vein of DarkJuno's punishments back in the RPG forum.
Gabe, I have gone in and removed Motoko from your character post myself. I asked you to choose one of them nearly four weeks ago and I feel that I have been more than generous. Motoko is now an NPC. Say what you will, you have only one character here. If you feel that you've been treated unfairly, maybe because you've observed other characters currently using more than one character, point me toward them and I'll take a look, but my decision will stand.
And I applaud you Avenger, Ransom for trying to keep the RPG on track and you Steel for trying to quell the argument. As for the rest of you, there really are much more productive ways of seeing your concerns through and I really hope you consider taking those avenues next time.

Fine, I'll lay off. Just allow me to tell you why Motoko was kept in the first place. If you took the time to read the story so far, you'd see that Motoko was having a love affair with the RPG Kitsune. Mystic is not gonna be happy about that, nor am I; I had plans regarding that... just thought you'd like to know.Gabe, I have gone in and removed Motoko from your character post myself. I didn't mean to cause any trouble, I just didn't see how past instances with both Gabriel and Motoko were a problem.

Seriously guys, DL made the rules up whn this section first started. If you have a problem with it, do it in a PM, not in public like this. Besides the fact that it looks really, really ugly and ruins the flow of an RPG, it really should be taken up privately. Anyway, one of the things here - which'll also be in effect in the actual RPG when it's done Friday - is that the rules are so few and leniant, that if you break it and continuously do so and/or just try to be an ass about not liking it, pfft, you will be punished. It won't be ceasing to exist anymore like I did it in the old days, but DL basically can ask whatever he wants to be done.
So yeah. I don't want anymore of this in the public forum - do it in PM's or IM, not here. And that, my friends, is it.

(i suppose those of us remaining should think of a valiant death for gabe's characters in honour of their input up to this point.)
edit: wait... is there any remaining?

Z was wandering around the city of Glennien. Since Button was taking his time getting a much-needed boat, he was taking a stroll.
He suddenly heard a scream in the distance. His eyes widened and his pupils narrowed. "That voice!" Z exclaimed, and quickly darted off.
----------
In an alleyway, Necroshade was harassing a girl. She had blonde hair and a red cloak similar to Z's, although her hood was off. Her face was a slightly tanned white and her usually vibrant, green eyes were filled with terror. She was backed up against the wall. "What's wrong, Hali?" Necroshade chuckled. "Scared? You should be... when you boyfriend finds out that you're gone, he'll be so angry that he'll eventually destroy himself..."
"NECROSHADE!" boomed Z's voice through the alleyway. Necroshade turned around in horror; his voice sounded much more demonic than usual. "You can hurt me... you can even kill me... but no one, and I mean NO ONE, has ever harmed my friends and lived to tell the tale..." he yelled. Necroshade backed off a little; he had never seen Z this mad.
Necroshade regained his composure a little, thought still afraid. "S-so? What're you gonna do about it?" he said in a quivering voice.
Z was silent. A gust of wind began to blow his cloak upwards, and he looked like he was turning into his Shadow Form. However, something else was happening. When his body became pure darkness, it spanned out two huge wings with spikes on the end of them. The part of the body in between the wings looked somewhat like the shape of a giant turnip, and a black, flaming halo appeared over it. His cat-like eye opened in the middle of the body, but instead of the area outside of the pupil being yellow, it was blood red.
If Necroshade was horrified before, he was in hell now.
----------
Darkness could be seen filling the alleyway, as well as Necroshade's scream being heard all the way to the Taj Nar mountains.
----------
Z's body began to take its original shape of a human, and he returned to normal. Necroshade's body was completely black, and strangely lifeless. It dissolved into black dust and flowed away in the wind. Hali emerged from the alleyway, deeply relieved. "Whoa... you didn't have to go THAT far, using your most powerful form. I can take care of myself." she said.
Z looked down at her. "I know... I just couldn't contain my anger... I'd bet that Necroshade was trying to get to me through you. The snake..."
Hali giggled a little. "Well, its nice to know you care." she said, giving Z a kiss on the cheek. He blushed. "C'mon, I want to hear about what you've been doing. I'll buy you a drink."
Z nodded and they walked down to a bar.

"..........no.....!!" she said, her eyes wide with fright. She then sprinted back to her quarters

Z cleared his throat. "The usual... searching for the ultimate power, getting nothing but false leads... The Bake-Dao wasn't what I thought it was. It was destroyed rather easily."
"Damn..." Hali muttured. "Any other leads?"
"A couple. There was a Crimson Chest out by the Forsaken Fortress, but some group of do-gooders took it. I'm still at odds with them. There's also some "Forest of Souls" that intrigues me; I managed to trick someone into taking me there; the power-hungry fool..." Z explained, chuckling after that last sentence. "What about you?"
Hali smiled confidently. "Well, if neither of your leads are the ultimate power, then I think I may have found it... I've discovered some ancient ruins that tell of 'the essences that created our world.' There is a door there that leads to the underground with eight empty slots it, keyholes maybe. I also found this scroll there." Hali said, taking out the aforementioned scroll from her cloak. She sprawled it out across the table, setting her and Z's drink on the ground just incase. "I can't translate the text, though. I thought you might have an idea, and someone at the port told me you passed by. He was a little traumatized from seeing three ninjas explode..." Hali smiled at Z and he laughed. "Anyway, I went looking for you so you could translate it, but that's when that purple thing showed up and attacked me."
Z looked at the scroll, but then gave a confused look. "I've seen this text before. Its an age-old script that isn't used anymore. Even I can't translate it..." he said sadly, then thought about the Taj Nar mountains. Then the sensei. He was struck by inspiration. "But I know someone who probably does. There is a sensei up in the Taj Nar mountains; old guy, he's probably been around while this text was still used."
"That's great! Perfect." Hali cheered.
"No, not so perfect..." Z said ominously. "The brats who took the Crimson Chest from me are there, and they think I've left. We will have to sneak past them."
Hali shrugged. "That's not a problem. We don't bug them, they don't bug us."
Z smiled. Hali put the scroll back in her cloak, and Z brought the glasses to the counter and paid the bartender. They both left for the Taj Nar mountains.

"I wish to know something." she said without turning around to face him. "When we fought, you had the chance to kill me. But you didn't. I want to know why."

“Well done.” Lynx said, “You have completed the move. I must say I had no faith in you.”
Perseus grinned back at her spinning his knives in his hands, as the illusion of the training room faded away.
“What next, sensei?”
“I can teach you nothing more, Perseus, but you will meet others, yes you will meet many others that will teach you and guide you along your path. You just have to listen.”
Her serious expression changed as she again dawned her impish grin.
“I enjoyed training you little birdy. But that doesn’t mean I’m in love with you or anything.”
She winked.
“You’re gonna have to do better than that anyway. I have something for you.”
She rummaged inside one of her many pockets and pulled out a wooden whistle. It was covered with ancient carvings and inscriptions which Perseus couldn’t read.
“Blow that if you need some help little birdy.”
Suddenly she disappeared, and Perseus found himself standing in his room.
“What the hell…”

Hali let out a frustrated groan. "This place is huge! Its like a needle in a haystack..." he complained.
"We'll just have to endure. The old man is the only lead we've got. And we'd better hurry; I don't want to keep Button waiting, or he'll know that we're up to something." Z said, equally irritated but not showing it. Hali climbed onto his back and they began jumping around the outside area, not finding anything. Z then decided to check the chamber where the Sensei explained about Laz; sure enough, he was there. Z and Hali smiled, then calmly walked in. "Greetings, old man."

As Steel sensed Z, Z sensed him running to the sensei's room as well. "We have unwanted company..." he said to Hali.
"Want me to deal with him?" Hali asked.
"Would you? But don't kill him; just keep him busy." Z said. Hali nodded and ran out of the room, dropping the scroll for Z on the way and ready to intercept Steel. She drew two long, thin swords, but they didn't appear to be tangible; they were completely made of fire. "Now, where were we?" Z thought aloud. He picked up the scroll and handed it to the sensei. "Ah, yes. I need you to translate this text."

"Exactly, so give it back." Z said, not even asking before he snatched the scroll and gave it back to the sensei. "And if you wouldn't mind... GET OUT!" he yelled, taking his spike chain out and using it to send Gabriel and Steel flying out of the room. Hali walked in and locked the door behind her. "Nosy little brats... now, could you PLEASE translate the scroll?"
(The reason I'm not doing the scroll-thing myself, Steel, is that the sensei is YOUR NPC. I'm afraid we need to discuss this via PMs or something.)
