Pokemon is hardly Zelda. And, again, you're stating opinion rather than fact. Do you have any evidence to support your idea that the pokemon games were ruined by the tv series and the movie?
Once again, you take what I say the wrong way. A film WILL NOT RUIN THE GAMES!
IT WILL CHEAPEN THE SERIES!
There IS a difference. The pokemon games are still fun to play and time consuming, however, the public hates these games. Why? They have been over marketed. The first thing they did to start this was give it its own show. Then the Movies began. Then figures and millions of other forms of these creatures appeared.
Zelda has already had a television show... A movie is the next step to ruin in the public's eye.
This is a good comment. Is it directed at me or TSA?
It was generally directed at TSA, but because this IS a forum, anyone may reply. Me being against this movie idea does not make me ignorant or un-intellegent. You see, I know many, many things about writing and storytelling, and a little about filming, stage directing and acting. I am not stupid. I simply feel that some things, games in particular should not traverse their original media. I have explained my reasoning behind this several times, the main one is that any expansion of media brings about a sort of death of credibility. How can Zelda be a leading video game series, when it is so spread out? It would be a craze at first, but then it would burn out. Not only would its new fans leave it, but some of the old fans too, who were disgusted by the sudden expansion of media. I used to be a fan of the Pokemon series, as many were. The over marketing simply got on my nerves, and though the games increased quality, I no longer had much interest in them. There is almost no hope for a burned out craze, for crazes take about twenty years to revolve back into pop culture.

Now, Zelda could do the same thing, only they have a MUCH broader demographic to please, which makes it harder for them to compete with Pokemon, for reasons already stated. However, I think it could work. If it was done properly, I seriously think that a movie would bring more people to the series. If others are driven away by it, then they weren't REAL fans of Zelda, now were they?

Oh, and when you say things like "[n]ot only would its new fans leave it, but some of the old fans too, who were disgusted by the sudden expansion of media" how is that anything less than ruining the series? You can't really have much of a game series if you don't have an audience, right?

Anyways more to the point. Although i have a few objections to making a Zelda movie, i also think that it could be good for the Zelda series if it is done well. I also think that Darunia was right in saying that anyone who is driven away from it because of a bad movie, isn't that good a fan.

It seems that the best Zelda games tend to be the darkest. Both Batman and Gargoyles had that dark animation style. I'm just sayin', is all.
Plus, Batman had Harley Quinn, and Gargoyles had Demona. Yum. *g*

KEEP with anime cause the manga was cool and well the american animation is not very good so stick with anime AND GIVE LINK BETTER LINES GOD
There's an intelligent statememnt. "American" animation, yeah, the big, expensive kind that moves a lot? It's better quality than anime, sweetheart. I'm a little like thabto here, I'd rather kick off before I see an anime Zelda movie.

I agree with Ben about the cast, if they did have to make a live action.

I wouldn't make it too dark. And if it had to be like a game, OOT, definitly.
Anime just seems wrong for a Zelda movie...
Anyways, I agree with Husse.
PS I think I just realized I'n repeating myself, but... oh well.
