It is a good album, but I much prefer Starlight to Assassin.

You're right to say it's different though, it does feel different to other Muse albums, my brother says it's like 70's disco music. o.O

Love it though, great album. =)

I like Starlight, it's a better song, but it makes me sad to listen to it. Assassin isn't my favourite, I was just sayin' it's crazy-go-nuts.

70s disco? Well, at times, vaguely, but I find some songs have references to modern dance music... Except without the crappiness.

Starlight makes you sad? I think it's uppity..okay the lyrics may not be, but still...

I like Hoodoo as well, especially the last verse. Invincible is good too, the beginning makes me thing of the Wish You Were Here album by Pink Floyd.

The lyrics remind me of someone. It's... Painful.

In that case I apologise for err, something I no doubt said.

And yes, the beginning, but just the beginning of the song goes some way to reminding me of the way SOYCD starts with his it's quiet at first and slowly ramps up, of course a lot of songs do that but it's the particular way in which it's done.

Have you noticed the heavy use of synthesizers in this album? Much more than in any of the others, not saying it's a bad thing though, it's quite pleasent.

I got given a copy of the album today and have listened to it all the way once. There are some songs I like more than others, mainly the heavier and more progressive songs, but all the songs sound better than anything most people will hear on the radio and have their own unique sound to them.

Yes, they made a conscious decision to do that, and Bellamy admits 'it sounds a bit 80s because we're not actually that good at using them yet'. I think songs like Map of the Problematique sound great though.

Well said. Not only that, but the songs will grow on you as well. They're those type of songs.

The person who gave it to me said the Knights of Cydonia was about Clint Eastwood.

Well it's definitely not about that, anyway. It's about mars, about stupid world leaders, and an imaginary/real situation involving a foolish war.

I thought it would be about some conspiracy theory because Cydonia is where the face of Mars is, and it's uaually associated with aliens.

That too. The whole album is about conspiracy theories though. Especially Exo-Politics.

I find the rest of the album better than Supermassive Black Hole. The first song makes the album sound like a concept album.
