I wouldn't supprised if that actually did happen. Oh well. Besides, as long as the original Japanese episodes are available and such, then why worry? Let the little kiddes have Naruto as it is now? When they grow up and see the original Naruto, they'll be old enough to understand. (Understand that they have been cheated). As for Naruto's English voice, it's not that bad. Really. It sounds like the first japanese voice. (Watched Naruto episode 1 in Japensese this afternoon).

Well, I haven't seen the Japanese ones, but I can just tell that Naruto's voice in the dubbed version isn't right

as a matter of fact i started joining forumsafter i joined narutofan.

Well, Narutofan IS the best place to get info and...resources from the show/manga.

And you can feel free to watch an episode or two on Cartoon Network..but it isn't really worth it. Their pronunciation of names, jutsu, and whatever else sound terrible, the voice acting gave me a headache when I tried watching the first couple episodes, and they edited out most of the blood- even from nosebleeds. :P

Anyone else find it odd that Naruto is rated TV-PG but has an episode airing at 7:30 and 9:00, yet that crazy Bobo-bo-bobo (sp?) is rated TV-Y7 in the 10:30 slot.

Or the fact that S-Cry-Ed has the same rating as Naruto, yet airs at 1:00 am?

Do we question Cartoon Network anymore? I haven't tried to make sense of it, Nick, Disney, or any of the other channels known for their American kids shows since "Totally Spies" and "Shaolin Showdown" were put on the air. Though it couldn't have hurt Naruto any if they'd at least kept the blood and aired it later. Or...you know..found voice actors who are capable.

I know. I'm not too sure about the voices fitting the characters, as I've been reduced to using a computer that is completly incapable of playing illegaly downloaded episodes, but Naruto's voice is annoying, especially considering that we probably have to hear him every episode.

Anyway, was Naruto geared towards kids in Japan. Because I know that stuff for kids there and here seem to have large gap between what is acceptable (Just look at the Shaman King dub and the steps taken to avoid the words 'Die', 'kill', or 'dead').

Personally I think that Naruto's only on Toonami because it's a Shounen Jump Title, and almost all of them get reduced to a TV-Y7 rating (Yu-Gi-Oh, Shaman King, One Piece), blood, nudity, and plot be damned.

By the way, Naruto also airs at Noon on Saturdays also.

nope. naruto was for an older audience. cartoon network has a way of...babying things up. narutos voice in the japanese cartoon was sorta high mid but it wasnt annoying.t was actually not bad at all.if ya wanna see the manga at the very least (which was said to be better than the show)than i know a good site.(jus happens to have a forum too)if ya want it tell me. ill give it to ya

Yes, it was meant for older audiences, but American television in general was bound to have fun messing that up. Any mentions of death are mostly banned from American cartoons or other kid's shows, which is just ridiculous, but they're taking some extreme measures to make sure that they can play the show with a very child-friendly rating...when kids that young won't even understand most of the story's plot points.

And I myself have just watched all of the fansubbed anime that's out, plus all the manga from where the story leaves off in the anime, finding my ways of getting both the new weekly manga and anime as it comes out. ;)

By older audience, do you mean older kids or teenagers? Based on how far I am in the manga, I'd put it in the later catagory, but I'm not exactly sure what the target demographic actually was.

Anyway, I'm currently reading in the middle of the second Zabuza(sp?) battle in the manga.

If you're into the second Zabuza battle, I'd bet you can already figure out the gist of what sort of audience they're aiming for. The ruthless killers, painful pasts, splashes of blood and many discussions about each characters individual abilities are reaccuring themes all the way through- the enemies just get more ruthless, the backstories sadder, the fight scenes more intense, and the abilities of Sasuke, Naruto, and all their friends show up more and more as they train.

But really, I'd say it depends on the person- some older kids might not be able to handle the blood, but some can. I judge it on the same lines as InuYasha, and I probably wouldn't have fully understood and appreciated either of them myself if I had been younger than 13. Whatever the case, Naruto was NOT meant to be TV-Y7 like Cartoon Network is trying to make it, but we already knew that (although I'm hearing that the actual dubbed dvd sets won't have the blood cut out? Still has his icky voice, though).

I still wished the Japanese Anime showed Shino blowing Zaku's arms off...like in the Manga...

Right now, the anime sucks...I haven't watched since like 143 and probably won't for a while, bunch of stupid filler stuff...

The manga is very interesting tho...

I noticed something a bit funny about CN, the picture the use for the Coming up Next Naruto (the 10:00 spot) it shows Kidoumaru from the Sound 5...which he really doesn't show up till the 100's, despite you see maybe 20 secs of him before that.

We're not talking about the first couple episodes when refering to the "72 hours of stabbing in one second". That's something that comes up muuuch later. (I think that episode is in the 60's or 70's?)

However, you are right in that Iruka had some blood on his back where the shuriken hit him, and some on his leg from the kunai. It's just that all nosebleeds, flying blood, or spitting out of blood was editted out- and if even the ~nosebleeds~ from Naruto turning into a naked girl are taken out, then that hasta make us wonder how much else will be taken out.

Yeah I know what your talking about but its Cartoon Network and in General America...They think its too *Mature* to have blood...

I don't get C.N. anymore, BUT, I've heard the English version is terrible, and they cut out the good scenes where there would be weapons hitting people, you still see the blood though?
