EDIT: This must be DREADFULLY boring for Kissy, so I'm going to recommend that she try out the Big Finish Eighth Doctor Adventures series.

I want to say yes in reference to his current one, but I'm not 100% on that, I'll check.

Not likely to happen until the next season is about to start. Kissy, once you see season 4, don't start season 5! There are other things to see inbetween those!

What things do I need to watch?? o_0

If you're watching on Netflix, don't worry. The 2009 specials are included in the 4th season now, which is why it has 18 episodes. A good thing, too - the way they had it arranged before, you'd have been very, very confused if you'd gone straight from Journey's End to The Eleventh Hour XD

Oh yeah? The only one included when I watched last was The Next Doctor. The other specials were still on Netflix though. Well. Except Planet of the Dead.

Just checked. Netflix still doesn't have Planet of the Dead. :C

Oh, they don't. That's odd, but...well, thankfully that episode's not very important. Except for the psychic woman. Kissy, let me know when you've seen the Next Doctor and I'll show you the clip of the psychic woman. The rest of the episode's actually one of the most missable of the whole series. Though if your TV package includes BBC America it'll be on at some point. Actually, it was just on yesterday.

So after what episode should I ask you this?

Also. I just met River. I already know there's a bunch of mystery behind River because my friend would tell me how much it bugged her. But I don't know anything.

AND NOT KNOWING DRIVES ME CRAZY.

AND WHAT'S HIS NAME?!

And by reading reactions to the most recent finale I have a feeling you guys STILL don't know his name despite the title. LFDKSHFLS

This show. Why did I start watching it?

The Next Doctor is the name of the episode before the missing one.

You will find out who River is over the course of the next few seasons. You'll never know his name. But it's probably a meaningless jumble of syllables anyway, other Time Lords from the classic series had names like Rassilon, Spandrell, Maxil and Romanadvoratrelundar. Yes. Why some people seemed to legitimately expect a human name is beyond me.

Okay, well...according to a 70's book called The Making of Doctor Who by then script editor Terrance Dicks, the Doctor's name is δ³Σx². Not necessarily pronounced like Greek, which would basically be d3Sch2, with "ch" like Scottish "loch. Old High Gallifreyan just looks like that. Make of it what you will.

Nothing. That is the first of the specials that happen after the end of the series 4 episodes.

I just now realized that since you're watching via Netflix, you didn't see the two Children in Need specials. The first takes place before The Christmas Invasion, and the second is before Voyage of the Damned. Enjoy!

The BBC must have been looking for a new candidate for the role since the beginning of the year. The question is, who's it going to be?

I'm mildly disappointed Matt's leaving but I guess you should always expect them to leave at some point and as Masa points out, better to not let it drag out.

But. Revolving TARDIS doors, I swear. The moment I start getting attached, especially to companions, they leave. It's just like real life. :c

From what I heard before, Matt Smith was going to be on for at least another half season. Having him hang up the bow-tie this early seems a little premature.
