Of course, the IVs have nothing to do with the taps; that just requires changing your DS's date/time and flipping the journal back and forth.
I'm sure you'd look crazy trying to apply it in "real life." Okay, I want my baby to be the strongest ever! I'll fiddle with my watch for half an hour, then read the last page of my diary thirty times.

Moriatti is the second member of the Legends Alliance Pokemon League to win the Frost Badge!
An excellent victory!

In addition to the badge and your shiny Lapras you can now use SMUG outside of battle.
I made a mistake by not using Fake Out on Weavile's first turn with Snorlax, but I don't think it would've made a difference. I could only win our stall war with 2 critical hits out of 3 turns and that's never a good position to be in. Great battle!

Also, I concede defeat to your OTT, Gobby, THIS TIME! But I'll be back!

Finally, can anyone explain to this n00b what tapping is and how I can farm shinies efficiently? Or IVs? Or where I can find such?

Agh, Battle Tower frustrates me. Critical hitted my Lucario to death, then critical hitted my Slowbro and flinched it the turn it would have Slack Offed health back.

But yeah, Battle Tower does seem frustrating, trying to decide if I want to EV and IV grind first or Take the Tycoon on and grab items to make it easier...

Therefore it's impossible to max out more than 2 stats.
You distribute EVs depending on what you need. For example I have a Garchomp for the Battle Tower and his EV spread is 160 HP / 252 Attack / 96 Speed. Since it uses a Choice Scarf it doesn't need as many points in the speed stat.
*got the spread for this Garchomp from smogon.org

The EV totals are hidden. If a pokemon has 510 EVs then it'll be given a ribbon from someone in Sunyshore City. When training it's best to track EVs gained from battling with the counter Poketch app.
I find there's no real reason to raise a Pokemon up to 100 since wifi automatically adjusts the levels when battling. It's also worth noting that if you do train up to 100, you can never change the EV spread of that Pokemon.

That is, I'm stepping up as a gym leader specialising in the Dragon type! If you beat me, you can win a shiny Dratini!
