I decided to catch some Dittos in case I go completely mad and decide to breed for IVs. First I caught 11 Dittos, then checked them; one had perfect IVs in Defence, one in Special Defence, one in Attack, and one in HP, Attack and Speed. So then I just needed Special Attack. I went and caught 6 more; two had perfect IVs in Special Attack and one in HP. That seemed pretty unlikely to me. Maybe the game likes me?

It's incredibly difficult to breed for IVs because you also have to look for the right nature as well. Doesn't matter if you have a perfect special attack IV when your nature is Impish. Your game is being kind to you though. Come across any more shinies?

Not even GG and I decide to go for perfect IVs! It's great that you're taking an interest though. ;)

Out of interest, what natures have your Dittos got?

My HP/Att/Sp Ditto is Hasty; My Def Ditto is Sassy; my Sp. Def Ditto is Jolly; my Att Ditto is Bold (oops); My HP Ditto is Lonely; My Sp. Att ones are Bold and Quirky; and the Dittos without maxed IVs are Naive, Bashful, Bashful, Mild, Bashful, Relaxed, Relaxed, Naive and Lonely.

The only Pokémon on my main team with a maxed IV is my Staraptor's Attack. So; the very first wild Pokémon I caught in the game was a Starly with Attack IV of 31 and Pokérus.

It's like you guys are speaking another language o-o

Uhm. I'm up to my second badge. But, I was wondering if I could (or if it was actually possible at this point, really) trade-and-trade-back some of my guys so they evolve? Right now I have a Kadabra with a Geodude and Machop on their way. I'm playing along-side my brother (Sort of a second rival), and having them evolve without his knowing would be fantastic.

Trying so hard to get a muchlax. I'll probably spend all my money on honey doing so, but I'll catch one!

For future use, if you can stand the time it can take to do this, try and get the following natures: adamant, modest, timid, calm, careful and impish. The first three, along with Jolly, are the most common battling natures.

I've just realised you have Platinum, which means your Ditto are in the Trophy Garden. Good, that will be quicker than the method in Diamond and Pearl. In those you have to pokeradar the Ditto and that can be a pain.

It helps to have a bunch of Abra with Synchronize and the desired nature so you can pass this on to the wild Ditto. I resorted to migrating some over from Fire Red where you can buy them at the Game Corner.

EDIT: Stew. Ignore all this IV talk. It would be the very last stage of GG's and my tutoring to introduce IVs. There are more important things to do before that.

For the first time, my flame has been put out

D~N has become the first member of the Legends Alliance Pokemon League to receive the Inferno Badge

Congratulations
Posted Image

That was an incredible fight. I can tell you're gonna go places. Never let the flames of passion you get from battling die out, and you will become as powerful as the sun itself.

In addition to the Inferno, you can now use BRAG outside of battle.

Also, take this:

*D~N received shiny ponyta*

That Ponyta is an offspring of my own. With special moves added on. Raise it wisely

*BRAG BRAG BRAG BRAG*

Brag is an TM, which means it breaks after one use! I must remember to use it wisely. :P

Yeah that battle was excellent. MVP = Daisy, my Gardevoir. Healing Wish in the nick of time saved me that battle, for sure. =P

Now that I have this badge, my pokemon will obey me up to level 30. Which means I can take on Vet now! I'm coming for you, Veteran! I'll thaw your cold heart with a warm battle of passion!

Alright so i've started again.

Gonna try to plow through this time and get more or less my original team back. Really keen to get in on this. LA pokemon league is the best idea to come out of gaming in a longg time.

See you on the other side boys!

Synile: Next time, leave the scyther at home. That is, unless you like him well done

For your first outing into EV training, you came halfway. But in the end, your spark died out too soon and your team became kindling for my flames.

You know what you need to improve upon. Do so, and I'll see you back once your pokemon get out of the burn ward.

I think I'll try training up my Munchlax. And maybe my new Heatran. (Seems possibly decent against an ice team.)
Now that I've caught Dialga and Palkia, I just have to track down Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres and Cresselia...

A question: If you EV train something in, say, Speed and Attack, level up to level 99, then give it those EV lowering berries and max out its EVs in, say, Sp. Attack and Sp. Defence and level it to 100, what happens? Does it lose the stat boosts it gained from the Speed and Attack?

You lose the stat boosts that you'd given the EV trained pokemon. You can actually SEE it decrease.

I looked at my Pokemon, none of them are EV trained. At all. Hell, I barely have a grasp on EV training. My guys would get MURDERED, over and over again.

So, I'll just have to design better Gym Badges.
