What you mean like a familiar? Have Link as a witch, riding a broom?

He probably means like having a companion like Midna that you could take power of you in some cases.

Wasn't that basically Tingle's role in TWW?

Anyway I was thinking more like OoT or TP.

On that note, they should bring back magic, and especially the cool spells that ALttP and OoT had that WW lacked.

Forget that, bring back AoL's spells. I want to turn Link into a fairy! (Nice to see the fairy spell getting some love in FSA.)

Make most of the equipment customizable, like a custom shield or whatever. It worked for Mario Kart.

How 'bout a fairy that turns into a sword?

Actually, something like Tingle in TWW would actually be pretty cool.

It just occurred to me whilst I was watching Soul Eater, was the guy who came up with the concept of a girl turning into a sword watching that program as well?

I hadn't thought about that before. Maybe the girl will have multiple forms like Tsubaki.

sentient weapons are hardly anything new. Even in Zelda, the Essence of the Triforce has spoken to Link, so why not have the Essence of the Master Sword (or whatever) take on a physical form?

I'd actually really like to see a Zelda you could play with a friend! That'd be really fun. :D

FSA was great, but it was irritating to have to make sure everyone had a GBA and connector cable. I played this many times with my friends, and I'd like to see a more advanced version. Preferably with other characters, rather than just Link x 4. Maybe more FF: Crystal Chronicles (minus having excessive equipment) or Gauntlet like.

Make the shield less invincible. In fact, give it it's own damage gauge, so you'll actually have to buy more shields. As it is, all you have to do is avoid getting eaten by Like Likes, and switch from a wooden to a metal shield, and you're set.

That could be pretty good; make the game a bit more realistic, and give you something to spend your excess rupees on!

What you mean like a familiar? Have Link as a witch, riding a broom?

Erm, no. XD Either A) Give Link magic, or B) Give him a friend who can use magic.

Forget that, bring back AoL's spells. I want to turn Link into a fairy! (Nice to see the fairy spell getting some love in FSA.)

I forgot about that (having never played AoL past the first dungeon). It would be interesting to have Link be able to turn into a fairy at will again, though I wonder: if they made this a vital plot point, would be a mistake or an excellent addition?

That would be awesome! I picture sort of a mini SCIV kind of set up...
Then again, it probably wouldn't be vital enough to the game for them to put much work into, so I figure either they make the game great and the customization features lacking, or vice versa.

It would probably end up a bit like the Hyoi Pears in Wind Waker, I guess. Although maybe they could do a Minish Cap thing with it and have you interact with faeries in a similar way to interacting with the Picori.

I didn't care for the Fairy spell that much myself. Its only real uses were to get through doors that you didn't have a key for and to fly over pits. It wasted too much magic to be of any use to me. You needed at least 50% of your magic bar to use the life spell, because there were no health drops in Zelda II.

It just occurred to me, a good idea would be to have instant death situations. I know the Zelda series has never had instant death from falling down bottomless pits and into lava, but seriously, unless they do something cartoony for lava (like they did with The Wind Waker) I think Link should die the instant he falls into a bottomless pit, gets sucked underneath quick sand, falls into lava etc.

Didn't that feature only hurt Adventure of Link?

Yes, instant death tends to be a cheap approach. TP tried it on a couple of occasions (when the bridge is set on fire and the carriage you escort get too damaged) and both felt rather annoying.

Yes, but I'd feel it would be appropriate in some instances, to maintain the feel of the environment. You don't fall into lava and not die, unless you're cel-shaded Link and therefore more cartoony. Even then, there's still not much of an argument for you to stay alive after falling into that or a bottomless pit.

Well, realistically one sword swipe or arrow can kill you just as easily as one drop into a pool of lava; a health system at all is unrealistic. I think instant death pits would be pretty annoying; I know the AoL ones certainly were. Though you did get multiple lives in AoL.

You got multiple lives but limited 1-ups that you were definitely going to need for the last dungeon.

If that were to happen, the popularity of the Zelda games would go down. Realistic death only works in shooters, like Battlefield 2 effectively.

Not necessarily. I can easily clear the whole game without taking the additional 1ups, with the exception of the one that IS in the last dungeon.

Tingle should be removed or changed. He's way too annoying the way he is.

The only thing I didn't like about Tingle was the fact he would always say 'Kooloo-Limpah' or something; otherwise, he made MM a lot easier by selling maps.

I'm not sure how much I ever dip into them, but I always go in with the maximum amount of lives possible. This means not only collecting the 1-Ups on the overworld, but also clearing the palaces last. It makes it easier to max out those last few levels you need, and every one after that is an extra life. Since beating the game means going through the previous six dungeons, finishing the game can be... a bit time consuming.

That's probably why I always fins AoL so hard, I just rush through it and charge at the last Palace without bothering to get any of the extra lives. I hate "wasting ammo" as it were; I'd rather not get the life at all then get it and lose it. If it's safe sitting in its cave at the end of the game I'm content in the knowledge I can still use it if I need to.

The fact that it treats saving the same as dying doesn't help. Got to quit the game and are about halfway to that level-up? TOO BAD NO EXP FOR YOU! Then there's the complete lack of health drops in the game so you're pretty much dead if you run out of magic.

I'm confident that the graphics will get better over time. ^^

As for friggen Tingle...why oh why did they think of him to start with?

I'm all for wanting to add a character for comic relief, but Tingle was just...ugh. As were all Tingle-like character in future games (like the two clown guys from TP)

You can't tell me there's no way to include a quirky, strange, or otherwise comedic character without making them annoying/disturbing as heck to both talk to AND look at.
