"It's not too late," I told him. I bent and pressed my lips to his. Stark's arms went around me, still strong enough to hold me tight. My tears mixed with his blood, and the kiss was absolutely wonderful and terrible and over too soon.
He broke his lips from mine, turned his head, and coughed his life's blood onto the ground.

Showsni, you must tell us what this Harlequin Romance is!
"Untamed," one of the "House of Night" novels, about a teenage girl who spontaneously changes into a vampire (as people in this world often do, apparently) and goes to stay at a school for young vampires, where she discovers she has extra special powers that none of the other young vampires ("fledglings") have, nor even any of the adult vampires! She broke up with three of her boyfriends (the sweet, caring and hot human boy, the popular and hot fledging vampire boy and the sexy and hot vampire teacher) in the previous novel, this dying person is a new vampire kid who just joined the school.
It's like the book series people who read Twilight make fun of. Happily I'm pretty much immune to bad literature and can read anything, unless it's totally boring.

Fun fact! The Grey Wagtail, Motacilla cinerea, lays 4-6 eggs, very like those of the Pied Wagtail, but sometimes browner.

:D
Here's why:
+ Most lightning strikes average 2 to 3 miles long and carry a current of 10000 Amps at 100 million Volts.
+ People can be struck by lightning even when the center of a thunderstorm is 10 miles away. <-- (This type of lightning is called 'positive lightning'!)
+ Rubber shoes do nothing to protect you from lightning.
+ The odds of being struck in your lifetime is 1 in 3,000! <-- (I hope I get struck! That'd be cool...! No, wait... That won't be cool.)
+ If your hair stands up in a storm, seek shelter! It could mean that positive charges are rising through you, reaching toward the negatively charged storm clouds.
+ Lightning is about no bigger than the diameter of your little finger or your thumb!
I also found this...
"Spider Lightning" can travel over 35 miles as it "crawls" across the bottoms or through squall line "frontal" clouds.
This rare type of lightning is very beautiful as it travels from "horizon-to-horizon".
However it can turn deadly if it happens to strike the ground at the end of its super long path!
Saw many strands of spider lighting touch the ground on my way home nearby... and it was punishing! XD Like a heavenly claw with seven fingers raking the Earth below.
