That's always a fun battle. I believe they make his attacks way more powerful for that encounter, so beating him there is always so satisfying.

You can actually fight the Ocean Palace version of Lavos at the beginning of a New Game Plus. When you reach Lucca's teleporter, a sparkle on the right-hand machine activates the portal to Lavos. I beat Lavos there with just Crono and Marle, and the ending was actually a developer walk-around. Interesting stuff, especially when one of the characters threatens to reset your game.

Annoyingly, I've left my DS charger at home, so I won't be able to get more endings for another three-four weeks.

Yeah, that's one of my favourite endings. You should try to get the one where Frog takes on Magus. Or the one where Magus goes to fight Lavos. Both are supremely badass.

It makes sense that I get all the endings in order of availability. There's no point in me starting a second New Game Plus file, after all.

I know that you can do it earlier... But I want to do it then! Right there in the Ocean Palace. I just think it would be hilarious to prematurely end the game at that crucial point before Crono gets ganked.

It would be better if there was actually an ending to the story, as opposed to just random stuff happening. That's my current annoyance after unlocking six endings; they all require you fight the same boss over and over, and none of them are actually worth it. They aren't "endings", they are "credits and random crap".

They get better the further you get into the game.

I would still rather all thirteen endings were good, and that I could get the endings through different means, not the same boss over and over and over.

Yeah, I guess. It does get rather tedious if you try to get them all in one playthrough.

I'll assume you at least saved after destroying Lavos' shell, right?

To be honest I didn't really like the new ending they added for the DS version. Maybe I just don't appreciate what's happening in it?

Yeah, thank God for that option. The shell is by no means difficult, but it is looooooooong.

I don't know much about the new ending, but from what I gather it was put in to show a definite transition to Chrono Cross.

Bleh... Chrono Cross... grr*

Chrono Trigger had a fine ending. And how dare they try to make it into something more "epic"? It was fine the way it was!

EDIT: Sorry... that was a (mini)rant on Cross mainly, not the Cross-related changes to Trigger. I just read over it and realised that wasn't very clear. >_>

If you say anything bad about Chrono Cross, I'm going to punch you in the jeans. They're gonna wish they were shorts. That game is incredible.

Can I spoil it for you? Cos I really can't imagine how the new ending has anything to do with Chrono Cross.

Ugh, I've just realised I missed an ending early on. It means I have to do a small chunk of the game without saving if I want to keep my current save.
