My cousin just got his and I saw the superb intro and first world. Wow it looks and plays so awesomely good, and I didn't preorder mine. ;_; Oh well here's hoping I can get my copy before December 25.

Spoiler : click to show/hide
From what I can gather Yoshi isn't anywhere in this game. No, a save file icon or planetoid of the dino does not count. *goes off to sulk* ¬_¬

It's not like places are sold out. I just bought a copy online from GAME in preparation for my Wii's arrival.

Had to pay over the odds though. £90 for Galaxy, Wii Play, and a nunchuk. Didn't have a choice since wiimotes are as hard to get as a Wii.

I never could in SM64. I also fail to see the correlation of difficulty and whether a game is good or not.

Pretty simple: if a game is too easy, it becomes boring. If a game is too hard it makes you want to throw your controller through the TV. A good game is hard enough to make you work for victory and easy enough that it doesn't make you hate it. Both thresholds vary between people, though.

I understand that much but it seems people want games to nerve-rackingly hard in order to be of any worth. To me, if it requires buying a guide or referring to gamefaqs more than a couple of times, it really kills the enjoyment. I want a game that challenges, not make me feel incompetent like Oracles does. Hell most of the time even if you DO know what to do, it damn hard to pull it off because you have time things right and if you're off by one second you have to start over. When my copy of both oracle games got stolen I was glad! Let some other poor soul suffer it's impossible dungeons.

And this coming from a guy who plays Portal without any help.

....

Oracle's dungeons weren't that hard.

Especially in Seasons.

It's not like places are sold out.

It is on Amazon.

I should be getting it for Christmas, probably the only Wii game I get for Christmas.

I just walked into a random Gamestop and got a copy.

Oh, and it is awesome, and this comes from someone who missed Mario 64 and still hasn't ever played it.

I fail to see, unless you have a vendetta against Mario, how it is possible to not like this game.

I got mine Thursday and I'm loving it. ^.^

Pretty much everyone who grew up at least partially in the 80's and 90's is secretly in love with Mario.

Currently, 4 stars. (My room mate is intent on finishing Super Paper Mario first...)

Well, that, and I'm not playing; just watching as P2. Yeah.

But from what I could see, it's pretty incredible.

I finally unlocked Luigi. He's supposed to make the game harder, but he runs faster and jumps higher than Mario. I think it's a lot easier. After completing the game with Mario, I can seriously say this is the best Mario/Wii game made yet.

Boo for the spoiler.

But the game's pretty amazing, so I can't complain too much.

Anyone else digging the music? The nostalgia tunes are great, and then some of the orchestrated (orchestral) new stuff is magnificent. I like the hub area's music, it's very Mario 64 castle-ish.

I love the little sequences with the trail of musical notes, and the classic songs they usually play. Also, the Hub has phenominal music. Definately a nod to "Inside the Castle Walls". And the storybook/cutscene music, ala Dire Dire Docks is perhaps even more beautiful. Everything is simply amazing.

Borrowed it for a few days- almost skipped Thanksgiving dinner because of it. It is far too much fun to jump from mini-planet to mini-planet. And the music is top notch.

I do have some complaints about the camera, but I'm a stickler for full camera control. I'm also not a fan of how I'll get 95% through a level, touch a bit of fire, and all of a sudden Mario is practically throwing himself on a sword and I lose all my coins. <_<

I'm trying to decide if I like how easy it is to find R-rated humor in the game, or if I should be worried about it. There are just so many places where you sit there and wonder how it got past the producers... it blows my mind how easy it is to make perverted jokes.

The queen bee. I honestly can't see how that sequence can be interpreted any other way. It sounds like they pulled her sound effects straight from a hentai, and what's more, I'm not the only one thinking such things.

I have all 121 stars with both Mario and Luigi. The funnest part was putting Luigi in orbit.

I definitely recommend this game!

Quite possibly one of the most entertaining not to mention adorable pieces of software I have had the pleasure of experiencing. I've gotten about 70 Power Stars so far (after starting two days ago), and each one has been fun to obtain, most of them I'd even say were challenging. Outshines Sunshine in every aspect; takes everything 64 did and makes it more fast-paced and fun. The new gameplay elements are amazing. Multiple branching pathways in each galaxy make the game feel more like the original titles, as opposed to the large, open courses of 64 and Sunshine, which seemed to depart from platforming into a more action-adventure class.

All in all, this is probably my favorite Wii title to date, and definitely worth a buy. It'll keep you entertained beginning to... middle, at least. ;d

@Vodkamaru:In orbit? wha?

I've just completely finished this game, which took me over a month, and may I say it was completely awesome! Well worth the high rating, and well worth the money.

I'm going to have to join the "this could quite possibly be the best game ever made" club.

Exactly how many stars are in this game? I've heard conflicting reports of 241 and 242 stars. I have 120 with Mario, and understand you can get 121 with Luigi.

Have I missed one with Mario or not?

I would also like to contribute my appreciation of this game. I've played it four times so far and I'm still having withdrawal symptoms. To quote Mary Poppins (I think) "Perfect in every way."

Mario's 121st star is in the exact same place as Luigi's 121st star. When you get all 242 stars, your file icon will sparkle and you can see how many times you died.
