Yeah, I don't know where the discussion currently is, but to respond to the initial post, in TLoZ, it seems as if the Triforce is inside Ganon, only taking a physical form when he is killed.

Going by the original timeline - ALttP, LOZ, AOL - Ganondorf became Ganon in the backstory of ALttP when he stole the triforce from the sacred realm. We know that he assumed this form after touching the triforce of power (according to OOT). In the context prior to the release of TP I would have argued that:Yeah, I don't know where the discussion currently is, but to respond to the initial post, in TLoZ, it seems as if the Triforce is inside Ganon, only taking a physical form when he is killed.
ALttP was the first time Ganon had the whole triforce and died. This happened in the 'child timeline' (OOT> MM> ALTTP> LA> LOZ> AOL) and when he died he lost the whole triforce. If we assumed this to be true(along with the fact that he would have searched for and found the TOW and TOC after he got the TOP) and then Ganon comes back some how in LOZ, he is still Ganon, and not Ganondorf, due to losing his humanity and human/gerudo form to the triforce of power. Thus he still technically has the TOP's power or is at least imbued with it, but because he was destroyed it was separated from him (unlike OOT when he was sealed not destroyed). Thus by the time of LOZ, he couldn't reabsorb the TOP because he already had all it could give him. But then why would he go after it? Because he wants to control Hyrule - the safest way being to not let anyone else take the triforce - and he wants to reunite the triforce like he did in ALTTP to fulfill his wish.
Thats what I would be arguing if TP wasn't released, but it was and it doesn't look like Link, Zelda or Ganon lose their triforce pieces at the end of the game... Not even when Ganon dies (although we can't be sure). So now that this seems to have broken the tie between OOT and ALTTP, I can't be sure of a lot of things.
Well theres bound to be a game that Links TP to ALTTP in the future, unless that is what the FS saga is meant to do.
