I guess some people just can't face defeat.

Just to clarify (and because I'm still willing to patch things up if you are), it's not about defeat, it's just that I don't go to message boards to be insulted over (as you put it) extremely trivial things. It's a matter of netiquette.

You complain it's underplayed despite references in two of the most recent games? o.o And there was the Great Moblin in the Oracle games and his followers...

References aren't much. I'd like to see a Moblins settlement, actually get to speak to them (whether under disguise or some other plot device, whatever works) know how they live outside of fighting Link... treat them a little more like a race than generic monsters (since they are historical enemies who on occasion speak, I think they deserve that much).
The Great Moblin was a good idea, but he was mostly just a couple moment of comic relief...

Bulblins are simply a version of Moblins that is more suited to being a 'race', in that they're small enough to ride about on Bulbos and fire arrows and are a decent size so that Link can take on hordes of them at once. They're not much different from Moblins, aside from their size and their lack of spears.

Those are good points, they may actually be more versatile because of the reduced size... but like I said, we've had so many games with Moblins, they were well established as part of Hyrule. Where has this race of BullBlins been before and after TP? That's what bothers me the most.

You could have said the same thing about the Gorons when they popped up in OoT despite having no appearance in the previous games of the series. Come now, the Zelda games can't consume their own history over and over - there needs to be new things, new races and new enemies for Nintendo to introduce. The idea of small Moblin-like creatures riding boars obviously caught on, and I personally think Bulblins are pretty cool.

Don't worry, they won't forget about Moblins, I would be very surprised if none turned up in Phantom Hourglass, for instance.

As for the way Moblins are treated in the series... I don't think they're *that* organised outside of having the occasional friendly individual. They don't really have settlements, they tend to just live in forests and caves, it seems. Very typical goblin behavior.

Well, by the time of OoT we only had three previous games set in Hyrule, and we didn't have something similar to them already well rooted in the series.

And I suppose you may be right about Moblins not being great settlers, but I wasn't suggesting anything past hay and mud put together for their homes ;)
If they can get themselves armor they should manage that much (for the records... who is it that provides armor to completely beast like foes like Lizalfos??)

Don't think about it too much. You're brain may start to hurt.

(Though for that matter, what do such creatures eat in the countless centuries they rest waiting for a new Link to show up?)

As for Bublins/Bokoblins/Moblins, while Moblins have changed from game to game, I'd say that post-Wind Waker it wouldn't be likely for them to be depicted as anything but pigs, which they clearly were in that game despite their vaguely bulldogish appearance in OOT.

I was unaware that the creatures in TP were called Bublins. I simply thought they were just a more organized group of Bokoblins. Interesting that Nintendo made another creature set nearly identical to a pre-existing one.

Fair game. I didn't quite intend for you to take it that seriously to begin with, and though you did manage to annoy me, I obviously wasn't any better myself. But hey, you say some smart things. I like to think I do, too. So yeah, I'm cool if you are.

It wouldn't have been the first time - Darknuts and Iron Knuckles, anyone?

Considering a Zelda game in a traditional RPG would (or at least *should*) be given to Intelligent Systems to make, I'm sure they're do it justice.

I'm not saying it should happen, but personally I wouldn't complain if they did an RPG side story in a Paper Mario style (except without the paperness, obviously).

Of course, I'm also the sort of person who'd adore a Zelda/Fire Emblem crossover, but that's just me. XP

A Zelda/Fire Emblem cross over would become Final Fantasy...but a strategy zelda may be awkward without a good amount of people.

Tatonakku and Aiannakku are clearly in the same family though, akin to 'blins'...
Yeah, I found the bulblins a bit redundant too, but theyre still extremely distinct from both bokoblins and moblins. Course, they're also pretty darn generic (even if/unless those are their own horns, not just on the helmets).

Yes, I think so too. Alright then, let's put the whole thing behind us.

It wouldn't have been the first time - Darknuts and Iron Knuckles, anyone?

Ah but that's a little different. They were around since the beginning of the series and recent games started to differentiate them.
Ironically, today's Darknuts are more like the NES IronKnuckle than the old Darknuts (in that they confront you and you have to get past their defenses, whereas NES Darknuts just flaundered around at random).
This is actually a little annoying for a purist but, I like the new axe swinging IronKnuckles and loved the original ones that these new Darknuts fight like... so all things considered I'm happy with today's status.

I want girl Link too, but only if there's a boy Zelda (aka Shiek I suppose).

Ya, BUT if theres a boy Zelda what will the title be The legend of Shiek?
(I'm just curious) :(

lol...Zelda looks like a total pansy in that pic XDDD Those are awesome, though!

A girl Link would be a little weird though...I mean, do we want a girl Mario, too? Girl Sonic? Boy...well, boy Samus would be hardly different than normal Samus...but Link is supposed to be a boy!

Now if they did something where Link had a daughter, that may work...

Totaly, I'm jealouse you thought of a cool idea about Zelda that would be awsome if the creaters of Zelda actually went through with it! Your also right about the whole ''Link is suppose to be a boy thing'' I think they made him a boy because boys are stronger than girls (in reality) :D

careful, ;) that's only true in generalization. Like how boys are *generally* more agressive than girls due to the more testosterone stuff.

Heh... Zelda disguised as Link... I can see it now...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Link, you must go save Hyrule! Here, take this on your quest! It will aide you!"

*Tosses are rock-like object at Link, which hits his head, knocking him unconcious. A small pool of blood starts gathering around Link*

"Oh... Oh darn... uhh... that can't be good... hmm... I supposed now we need a new hero..."

*Zelda walks out whistling... wearing Link's green tunic and cap. No one notices that theres now a blond-haired boy in a dress where Zelda usually is with a large red dot on his forehead*

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heh... would make for some interesting cutscenes... (in hte non-perverted way)

Female Link can be a dungeon boss. Or it could be like in Pokemon, where they ask for your name and gender.

Hopefully not like Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, where your character looked female regardless of which gender you chose.

I had a dream last night, I think the game therein could've been a good game.. though it WAS starring Zelda
(er.. then later on it turned into Kagome and.. uhh.. that's irrelevant except for the part where it explains that the female protagonist has a charm that mucks up your physical attack abilities in favor of providing better defense to someone who probably couldn't take two hits normally)
.. and now that I think about it, her primary attack was the one from smash bros where she jabs both her hands out in front...

Anyway, what was cool about it, that could make a good game, was that despite the main adversaries being monsters and realtime combat, rather than just puzzles, the emphasis wasn't just on combat.. but on evasion and trickery, and then some projectile magic too.
She had a Roc's Feather and thus could do lovely somersault high-jumps (I was watching moonjump glitch videos last night, that's prolly why) and .. that came in handy when this damn ice-armos thing kept making big icicle barriers to try to keep her in its range.. then after awakening several other monsters carelessly (I think a garo master was in there) she escaped this .. big mansion-y place.. and ran out to its courtyard, which was full of ridiculously tall trees (the saplings were the size of regular trees) and giant rodents that.. chased you.. but were helpful.. and then Zelda had to go get.. a.. leather gauntlet item.. which let her.. play cards? Then she was asking people how to play.

I dunno man, weird dream, but that kind of game could be really cool. Realtime combat when your character is at a serious mismatch but has ample evasion abilities..

A female link would be pretty cool, I mean why not?

Even if it had to be a on a handheld title I'd love to see it. Heck even Power Rangers finally got a female red ranger.
